Actually, on Facebook Ged reacted to my post saying he was wrong, and should have been punished. In reply he implied that he had made a payment to my club, Newcastle, and when I asked "Why ?" he did not reply. It can be assumed, I think, that he has made some payment to Newcastle to offset any losses that my club may have incurred. Pleased he didn't answer as Facebook is not the arena for such discussions.

Yes, I remember both Pete Lansdale and Trevor Redmond riding for their own teams.

I really don't blame you for celebrating, as it is such a rare event.

Eldest son of Tony. I think everyone in North Yorkshire is called Swales and are farmers. Yes. They are a 2 man team at Redcar.

What Would You Change In Speedway Next Season?
Tsunami replied to 4thbender's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The change was actually BSPA getting to know that a 'black' pirate league was being formed at a mixed PL and NL level. Faced with the fact that the black league being viable, and in completion to them, they invited us to join a new PL cheaper league which we agreed to do, and therefore we had a strong cheaper lower league with a decent number of teams. We agreed that that league would be limited to only 16 teams. We were one of the rebel teams, and it contained some surprising BSPA teams who had jumped ship. Interesting times those. -
Same track man as at Newcastle, Jonny Swales.

Peter put drains in, but for the water to go into a 'soak pit', which is what is emptied first to allow more water to drain in off the track. From our investigations we found that there was an old drain running diagonally from the first bend across to the third bend. It was not possible to repair the drain. A few years ago Alan, Darryl and George spoke with the then owners William Hill, and there was a plan to put some drainage in which would help both the speedway and the dogs. Unfortunately the dogs dropped out the week before the work starting, presumably thinking that the speedway would continue and pay the total bill. They didn't, and that sums up what it's like dealing with dog stadium owners.

Look at my post and read what I have said. It is being done and is getting better every year. -

Already underway and starting to produce the goods, where have you been. Easy making statements to others but it has been stated time and time again what Neil Vatcher has been doing for the last few years. How about attending a British Youth Championship round somewhere near you, you might be impressed. Look in the 'Young Brits' website or in the forward fixture list published in the BSPA panel. It's not a secret. -

Fixed nights would solve the problem. But it does mean that some tracks would have to run on less attractive nights to the fans who historically have a favoured night usually. -

Doubling us was originally brought in to allow young Brits to sample the higher level of racing, whilst staying in this country rather than have the expense of doing it abroad. It was meant to only bring on British riders. -
So they are expanding their nights but expecting us to do the opposite. Thought the original idea was for all countries to have set nights for everyones mutual benefit.

Yes I know Mike, but someone did say last week on here that he had heard that the promotion/relegation idea had been shelved. perhaps they think it could still be a money spinner(nowt wrong with that) and then ignore the result with a new set of leagues as has been discussed on here. It would be a tidy way of getting it out of the way.

Put in the BSPA pot ?
-
I doubt it will run, in fact I thought someone dropped a hint on here a couple of weeks ago that the showdown had been cancelled.
-
So you would go with multiple NL riders then.

Ipswich V Sheffield Po Final 2nd Leg 30-9-17
Tsunami replied to Super Blue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I didn't think you were allowed to have any machinery on the centre green. In saying that, I was at Worky a few weeks ago and they had sponsors sale cars on the first/second bend centre green. -
Whether fans like it or not, there will always guests. The reason for guests, because of conflicting nights, can be arranged if the will and agreements can be made. If the reason is to cover multi riders missing, there is no alternative, as most fans would then walk out because they are not prepared to put up with a poor team with NL riders filling in the gaps. Fans can't have it all ways. Surely it is better to watch a guest in a team and have a chance of decent and even racing, than to watch NL riders struggling against genuine team members and opposition.

It's not 40% BTW and the initial contract was about 1999/2000, so it was 17 years ago and passed. Time to move on, and it isn't the same circumstance now.

Did I not read on here that the lego bits for the new stadium were made and in a Welsh factory unit ready to assemble.
