  1. They run their much smaller league in two blocks Early Summer and Late Summer, so their effect is quite minimal on our leagues.
  2. Very true. You got your statement and you're still moaning. They should have waited till there WAS a conclusion to announce.
  3. Difference Poland finished their season a lot earlier than we did. We were still riding upto the last day of October, when did the Polish Leagues finish ?
  4. Jon Cooke is always at the AGM. You're now falling into the trap.
  5. Cook has always been the one to promote dubious changes in everything. Back to 18 heats, 3team competitions, British Cup to fill in GP weekend fixtures, got 35 points limit agreed then came back for 36 for Elite teams so they 'could' include GP riders, etc. Riders will and do try harder when they know a win will give the team a win, draw or extra bonus point. If YOU don't believe that, you must think they just go out and do what they want and don't ride for the team or the fans. They do. Depends of the length of the track of course, but about £25k for a smallish track for a blowup air fence, and about £30k for a foam filled one.
  6. Of course. Up to now it really is an internal matter. Discussions are/have been taking place, and when there is resolutions or punishments agreed, it can then be announced and people can then speculate with facts, not their own speculations. Untrue or unlikely speculation can only do speedway and businesses harm.
  7. Totally misconception of this situation. Usual over the top response.
  8. The truth in speedway can be very disappointing to some.
  9. But as you know it is not. Each club has a statistician who produces their clubs stats for programme items. Using the referees input sheets after each meeting there should be cast iron statistics at all times, especially at the end of the period when new updated averages are required. Sadly that is not always the case, and at the end of the season their is dialogue between the BSPA office and the clubs, and when the stats are finally agreed they are then declared the true record of that year and the last greensheets are agreed and issued at the AGM. If everything was hunky dori there should not be a problem, but just look on here when fans are asking for clarification as to who was third in heat 12 of matches say during the year because their records do not match.
  10. Try MOST instead of SOME. More wiggle room for you to get out of your original statement.
  11. Another fallacy. Most Stadiums own the food and drinks facility, so no benefit to the Speedway Promotion. Plenty of time to get merchandise during a meeting, making the fans stay longer does not increase the takings.
  12. One year I remember Len Silver had 6 riders signed for Rye House before the AGM, and was just waiting for confirmation of the points limit, and issued the team the week after.
  13. NEWCASTLE SPEEDWAY Thanks to everyone for turning up this morning and putting in a great shift. Unfortunately we had a couple missing for very good reasons but we pressed on with the task. We decided not to work with water seeing it was so cold(forecast feels like -2). This meant we didn't need to wash the 3rd and 4th bends panels, which were going to be rewashed in position before the new season. All the panels are now folded, stored and safe in the container, whilst the skirts have been washed, some discarded and the rest laid out in the pits. Less skirts to replace than first thought, which is good when they are £50 a time to replace. It was thought we would take 3 weeks, but with a hard working squad we have managed the putaway in 2 weeks. Jonny to cut the track next week, so all done before the worst weather starts. Thanks once again, and you know who you can rely on. DAVE R
  14. Some cases are different to others. Are you saying regardless of the circumstances the same penalty for everyone ? Cook versus Jack Holder ?.
  15. Richie Schlein Harris Kerr Perry Sargeant ? 39.12 Smith 2.27 ?
  16. You will know immediately after the AGM, by studying the leagues, the teams in them and the new BSPA committee.
  17. I don't know there was a conclusion, but it is strange there hasn't been a leak or announcement from one of the 4 parties involved. I can only think something needs to be clarified, or it has ramifications to be discussed at the AGM. Despite arnieg going overboard with his conclusion and insinuations, best to keep stum and wait for the truth rather than invent a troublesome false situation.
  18. NEWCASTLE SPEEDWAY Just a reminder that we will be doing track work on Sunday 12th Nov starting at 9.30am. If you fancy helping us and the club, just turn up with old warm clothing you will be most welcome. No rain forecast, but it will be nippy so better wear a vest. We usually finish at about 2.00pm but if it is too cold that will curtail us working. We need to fold up the second bend panels, wash the skirts with a pressure washer, and then start on the 3rd and 4th bends washing and folding before storage. Biccies and hot drinks available free at all day. Hope to see you there. Dave R.
  19. Yes, but only when it is passed by a majority. 1 isn't a majority
  20. I feel that there probably was a conclusion on the 7th, and it could be a subject for the AGM.
