  1. Try lined tracksuit bottoms, even on a good day. We locals might put a light coat on.
  2. That could only be true if Ged had wanted to host the 4's again this year. Maybe the circuit wasn't available this year at the right time. Anyway it's Redcar now and I'm happy with that.
  3. There seems an irony that the 4's move from the track Ged got, to the track he wanted to run in the first case. But best of luck Redcar, they will do a good job I am sure, and it's a lot less miles for me and my Northern brethren. They have already held the 4's meeting for the NJL 4's for about 4 years now. I think we will still miss Peterborough as that day out is always something special to me and my family as it is with most fans.
  4. Didn't know about that facility. On the busier nights I have used the motor circuits parking and also used their inside facilities after the meeting with the DIamonds team, but I don't believe that arrangement is available now. Of course that car skid training track used to be part of the original speedway parking. If I don't see you before, I'll see you in April for the Diamonds meeting. Take Care.
  5. Press have been wrong before. I was told over 4000 the week later, the same as the councils agreed limit I was told. Do you realise what 5000 fans look like ?. You wouldn't get them in.
  6. Is that one of the industrial sites that have been cleared now.
  7. I was on the road for your first meeting and it was quite a distance away hence why I mentioned it. I was also on that grass bank till the Cooncil Officer moved us on, or the meeting could not continue. If I remember right the councils crowd limit was about 2900 for that night, but as I said in the earlier post, a few more sneaked in so they changed their tac to make sure we were all safe.
  8. A bit of an over statement, it was just over 4000. One real difficulty will be car parking of the cars and buses, as there is usually a shortage even when the Diamonds are there.
  9. Top scored at both Glasgow and Peterborough.
  10. Also, it should be remembered that the death of a mate of his in a crash in Argentina had a bad effect on him and he very slowly upped his game as time went on.
  11. Bit of a stupid statement that. It's the promotion that signs riders. Same reason as why you fans don't know the 3 on Thursday.
  12. NO I didn't. But expecting speedway fans to only support their team if they only liked/supported every team member is plain stupid and unrealistic. It is the team as a whole that real supporters go to watch at speedway Why should anything you say hit a 'nerve' ?
  13. I would image that only about half of the area with grey dolomite on will be the track. The trench inside the dolomite is for the drainage and one would image there will be a bit of track on the trackside of the trench. Still pretty wide though.
  14. It's for every fan to think for themselves and not be lectured to by the likes of you and your high morals. They pay their money, and like watching speedway. Can you hear me on your high horse ?
  15. A choice between Kus and Ludde who brings with him more club support. Difficult choice but had to be made, that's business.
  16. Agreed Contradiction there I see It's "they're" by the way. It's those same puppets that keep speedway going. In any sport it is almost impossible to use a team which is the first choice and acceptable by every fan Get real.
  17. Hardly real fans then, if they don't support your promotion just because of 1 rider. Most fans have a rider or two in their side not of their choice but still go to see the speedway. Exactly the same with your football team, when it is rare for a real fan to want every player on the field representing their team.
  18. I believe the one complainant for the IOW lives down the valley some distance away, and is a local councillor.
  19. To be fair, State titles are the only form basis to judge the ability of any Aussie. Usually new comers ride again established UK based Aussies so it is easy to se how they could fare in the UK. to call them all wobblers shows your lack of credibility. There are only a small percentage that actually fail in this country, but most are a welcome addition to our leagues.
  20. Correct, or by the BSPA on behalf of the absent team or promoter.
  21. Well I don't think the budget would stretch to the likes of the Lambert deal. I think both Kennet and Scott have berths in the Premier, but that won't pay them to ride in the PL alone as they don't do Poland, Sweden or Denmark either. They will both need for financial seasons, to have a supplement to their earnings especially on marginally lower money in an easier league like the Championships. If they had signed the other way around, their Championship salaries would have been higher than they can expect now. They won't be cheap, but I would think at least they will be at every meeting unlike one that we know. Funny enough they are both at Rye House alongside Robbo, what's to say Scott's travel could be combined with a hitched ride with Robbo to half his driving. No doubt there will be a plan to get him to Brough every Sunday and Glasgow, Edinburgh, Berwick fixtures will just be combined as two days racing instead of just one home meeting. Let's see what happens in the middle of next week. Never know we might have another couple of riders announced by then.
  22. Certainly will, next Tuesday I Hear. Neither promotion was at the AGM for different reasons, so it can be argued the rest voted for something without realising they were chucking top British talent on the scrap heap and leaving teams understrength with no genuine no 1. U turns are all the rage in politics so why not BSPA.
  23. Trevor could have attended if the will was there, as he would still have been an active promoter.
  24. As workyboy says "Only TWO teams do not have a No 1 . Peterborough and Newcastle." So you reply knowing it was Newcastle. Redcar aren't looking for a No 1 as you already have Barker.
