And the ones that pay now, finding out that the kids running around get in for nothing, will soon get pissed off and stop going. Not exactly a good business plan is it. Back to another blackboard.

Certainly having Josh at reserve it certainly gave you good options when his real class was starting to show. Very sorry for Mitch and how injuries affected his career. A nice lad who lost his career though injuries.
-
Correct. In the early 00's we had 3 3 pointers in the proposed team, and we had to select the order of those riders so the highest went to No 2 and the other 2 went to No's 6 and 7. Doesn't happen very often but they have to be ranked for team places and seniority.

The Provincial league was a pirate league set up in 1960 by a string of promoters with Mike Parker and Reg Fearman plus others. The then British League was struggling, but it was the league that was recognised by national and international organisations. The situation came to an impasse in about 1964/5 when Lord Shawcross was appointed by the RAC to furnish a settlement which resulted in one British League, with all teams to be built to the strength of the winners of the Provincial League in 1964 which was an Ivan Mauger led Newcastle team.

Well there wasn't a problem in the early 60's and the formation of the Provincial League, when there were loads of 50's riders swinging their leg over a bike to ride again.

That will be the rider known as Justin Elkins ef

He is a good lad, and really come on this year with MIldenhall. Worth a punt.

Leicester Lions 2022 Line up
Tsunami replied to FishersGate's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I have a one on my showbike and I used to have it at Brough for fans to try and beat the riders. From memory I think Carl Wilkinson was a dab hand at it. -
I remember Anders as a great gater. He once had a 15 point max at our place, and none of our riders could touch him.
-
After one of Newports home meetings against us Diamonds, my wife and I stayed over a very local hotel. Whilst having a meal I got up to go to the toilet and Anders, who was with a girlfriend, summoned me for drinks. I still had my white shirt and BSLA tie on and he had mistaken me for a waiter. We had a laugh about it at he time and in later meetings. A real nice guy. Seem to remember he chased Stoney ? all over the centre green at Sheffield with a shovel after a track incident. Stoney probably didn't think he was a nice guy then.

Great to hear the dulcet tones of Dalbers on the commentary again.

If that means me I would remind you I was alluding to what Rob DID say and that was confirmed by two other posters straightaway. Telling the truth on here is now becoming banned it would seem,.
-
Agreed.

I'll go with Lee. Just hope he is up for it and not so throttle happy. It's Brough not BV. Wishing him the best of luck.
-
What happened to the last rider that Rob talked about who would bring the team strength close to the points limit and be challenging for honours, or did I dream that. Could have said it before he had his arm twisted to take George and is now paying the price of only getting upto a 6.50 rider, and less clout in heats 13 and 15 again.

No mention of the air fence in the assets list ?
-
He will. Look at his performances for Armadale at the NSS last year and he appeared and starred in the top 4 heats. He rode with a dash and was starting to work out the right lines, something we talked to him about at the weekend. Plus he has top equipment for next year, and he is now with a top tuner who has great faith in him.

They do. That's how we got Jesper after Glasgow went **** up in about 1996.
-
Just hope she is still an active Diamonds Supporter.

This transfer raises a lot of questions regarding who is the visa holder. With the visa, the applicant is stated and he or their company must promise lodgings and financial guarantee's to the said rider. If Benjamin is being transferred to Glasgow, have they applied for a new visa to replace the Poole visa, as I can't see Poole carrying on with the visa commitments, when he is not riding for them and is therefore not their responsibility.
-
Yes at Exeter and Stoke. The League and the Cup.
-
Correct . Another trigger to bring the points system in was after we won the PL in 2001, in 2002 we ended up with the same match points as Sheffield, but lost out to them on actual race points despite us having more wins than them. It was later changed to the new points system, as was fairer to every one and took away the advantage that both Sheffield and Exeter had from their massive home advantages.
-
Yes, Exeter won the Premier League in about 2003 and as a result the rules were changed with no bonus point on aggregate.
-
If only.
