Good turnout on Sunday including Martin, wife Tina, his brother and Danny, so a great representation from our new promotion family. Another session of this Sunday starts at 10.00am, but come with warm clothing on. Everyone welcome.

Been there once, no chance of a second opportunity.

Very retired. Handy on that average and not in any Elite League squad in Poland, but you have got to fancy that he will be in Poland somewhere.
-
I think you will find your post of 2.20pm yesterday was the one that brought it up once again. Loser again eh. Anyway this thread is not about you and me.

I don't think BT offered anything in terms of money, but were given the opportunity by the BSPA, and funded by the SKY money which was paid up in lieu of the paid up contract. It had been hoped that BT were pleased with what they saw, and had identified where they could perform better this year. There was talk on here about production costs being paid and small money for the rights to continue, but it would seem we need to wait and see if the BSPA can draw all promotions in to accept a decent deal.

You have got to remember that Stoke Potter believes that all tracks should be the same as like Polish tracks and if that means some(or most) tracks have to close, so be it. What a tosser he is. Redcar is way better than a training track.
-
The bank is too steep to be safe for people standing on it. I was on it for the very first meeting and we were all moved off it for safety reasons.
-
Read before you quote. It was Glyn Taylor who fashioned out the Redcar track. Whilst CVS was the main man to bring speedway to Redcar, it was Glyn that built the track.

Utter rubbish. The back straight is highly banked and supports the road which gives access to the pits at the other end of the stadium. The remaining area in the stand along the home straight, the home straight, and the second bend stands are more than adequate for even a decent crowd. All tracks can't be blessed with a showground to call on, and Redcar do very well with the land that they got for a speedway track. Incidentley CVS would probably had very little input while he employed Glyn Taylor to reconstruct a Motocross dump into a more than acceptable race track and viewing provisions. Stick to Peterborough.

Apparently BT were quite satisfied with the number of viewers last year.

...and your point is ?

Track working party URGENT Anybody with some spare time on Sunday, can you come to Brough at 10.00am to help get the track and fence ready for the new season. There is lots still to do so if you can spare the time it would be most welcome. Hot drinks and biccies on as usual and wear warm clothing. Session goes on till about 2.00pm.

To my knowledge there was a serious attempt In the mid 00's through the combined efforts of the Speedway recording companies, GRT Media, Re Run, Mike Bennett, etc, to do just that, but were met with legal complications from within, and the whole project was dumped. Sad and a great opportunity to sell speedway in a cleaned up version, missing out the delays, track grading, etc and making it more presentable to a new audience.

I was involved with a business partner and a newly formed media group, just ahead of TR in about 2000. I was inundated with questions and for explanations by the BSPA Office, which of course I found later were stalling tactics whilst TR concluded a deal with SKY. It could have been so different. True story.

Yes, Danny and his Dad Martin are down at the IOW with the BYC training session, which goes onto a riding session tomorrow as well. Hope it goes well for him.
-
If it is, it shouldn't. 2 leagues is the ideal number of leagues, but 3 leagues when there are riders wanting a ride is just not on IMO. The logistics of it are hardly manageable.

I think Philip Rising hinted at it in a post a couple of days ago.

Unfortunately it does, something to do with big cityitus, be it football or speedway.

Typical Redcar fan, some but not most. I am looking forward to the 4's at Redcar, and I have said so, as I think Kev and Jit will do a good job. Looking forward to it.

It will be. I took it from a stats file which gave his average average for that year. I thought it would be quite a bit bigger possible 6.5, but in any case I am sure he will be in Poland on Sundays. I think we need to pull aa rabbit out of the hat here. UPDATE Just checked SCB's Stats file and he has his KL average as 5.52 for the 6 meetings he had for KL. If you add in his other rides that year, it equates to the 4.30 that I Quoted
-
Last average was 4.30 in the Premier(then Elite). Bound to be in Poland on Sundays I think.

36 year old now, but didn't he try out at Leicester in their early days. About an 8+ ride in his previous Championship days.

Ex Junior rider that Newcastle Speedway brought over from South Africa in the early 00's. Rode for Berwick, Buxton, Scunny, Belle Vue Colts as well before returning home and winning the state championship a number of times. Hasn't been retired that long. Has a cousin who also rode in SA.

Don't we both know that Neil.
