There you go again making things up to suit your agenda. Spouting opinions not facts.

I am well aware of that, but with usually an over 7 point average, for every 4 or 5 point meetings he must have had a canny few 11 and 12's. I get frustrated with him at times, especially when you were not there last year, when he continued to try out the new engine(GRM ?) with very poor returns using them. This year but, it has been exceptional with the blow ups and the money he has had to spend with the top tuners, and now he is with Sean Wilson. There are components that have gone twice this year, when some professionals can only remember have one go in their whole career. He has snapped a couple of new Primary chains and hurled into the fence at Berwick, and these failures have occurred when he has been in good scoring positions He had a private session on track at Brough on a Sunday afternoon two weeks ago to try things out, so desperate he has been to get things right. And there is the unbelievers who say he should 'get his finger one'. Strewth.

Yes leander, but there are those who don't want to know things like that, they think he should just 'get his finger out".

Scorpions vs Diamonds - 11.5.18 19.30
Tsunami replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Like a lot of people, George E booked to go to the Polish GP a long time ago, with the Diamonds having a free weekend. We don't usually perform at Scunny, especially with their drowning the track tactics, but it could be interesting if the real David Howe turns up. Result could be interesting, but Scunny does have a decent team this year. -
No, cos I thought it would be a waste of my time. What Ludde has gone through this year is freakish, and way above the levels of application that other riders usually go through. You decided he needs to put I'm more commitment and pull his finger out, in which case theres no point in trying to clarify things which will remove your bias in this matter. Bye.
-
Must admit he was a good trier and even when last, as often he was, he was always on the third mans tail. I always thought there was something to him, but he just didn't develop.
-
All the Danes that came to us from Nicki onwards all had large mobile phones, which had a mini computer on the back which had their setups at every meeting they had raced professionally. Bjarne was the King with that.
-
In Ludde's case this year, there are parts in his engines which have broke in leading positions, more that other seasoned riders have never experience or only once in a long career. in addition , but I don't know if this is the case with Ludde, it is reported that there is a rogue batch of GM's this year. Ludde has bought two new engines and Wilson has been involved to get to the bottom of his problems. On Sunday he looked he was comfortable and confident and really back to his best. But others just think he should just 'pull his socks up'
-
Totally missed the point of course. It's not he hasn't pulled his weight, it is the freak mechanical problems he has had and the amount of money and time he has spent to try and conquer the problems. Yes he is frustrating at times, but the guru tuners have been working on his problems and 2 brand new engines and many thousand points later, he is emerging from the problems through being committed to get it right. Pity you didn't just tell him to pull his socks up, and he and we would have been spared all the grief. You have your opinion, but I would rather judge him on facts.
-
It you knew the frequency of his engine problems, the rare events that have happened to key parts in his engines, the number of engines he has bought, the money it has cost him, the tuners like Wilson who are working for him at the moment, well last night things worked very well for him and we had a true Ludde performance. Long may it continue, and hope his engine problems are over. if you don't like guy fair enough, but for christ sake respect the fact that he is doing his head in trying to sort it out and last night he did it. Rant over.

Good meeting from a racing point of view with the Diamonds grabbing a point when it looked unlikely. Poor night from Wethers and Doolan, and I would wonder whether he should give him any further guest bookings myself. Possible not the first choice anyway, given that Ipswich had a job getting a guest. Interesting about the new rule which I agree with, and the race was stopped when the leading two Diamonds were leaving there forth bend, and Pickering a distance behind them. He never got past our riders in the rerun so why would people think he would have in the first race. I think it was just the right decision, but not by much, and I hear there might be a Supplementary reg to be introduced because of this decision. Pickering was superb and unfortunately so predictable with his outside runs, it's just a pity that the home riders didn't try more blocking tactics earlier on cos I think everyone in the stadium knew what he was going to do and where he was going. Have him as a guest anytime and on a canny average. Didn't agree with the ref, and think he should have excluded Schlen when he blatantly pushed Tero off on the first bend. Nowt to do with first bend bunching. As others have said, it was a good meeting to watch and makes you wonder how Ipswich are/were vulnerable at home ( excluding of course when we were there). It was only the reserves that let them down in this meeting, but Hume showed a liking to the track and worked hard especially in heat 2. Connor looked a bit reckless and clearly didn't take to the track the same as Hume. Top man was obviously Schlein with his usual inside runs, but special praise for Heeps who has never ridden our track with any distinction. He looked a man on the bike last night when previously he just looked a boy. Good to see and watch. For the next meeting against Berwick on Sunday the 20th May, we will learn who the new septet are going to be with rumours of possibly two new signings. Very interesting, but I hope we are not going to sacrifice a performing rider for the sake of averages and hope the rider dropped is because of form. George will always do what is best for Newcastle and the team. Nasty crash in the second half when the Gems took on a Bob Hughes Welsh select team at NJL level. Dean Douglas was drafted in late to the Welsh team, because of Russell Barnett's engine problems, and in his second ride could not avoid the fallen Dale Pate and took a heavy tumble. Whisked off to hospital and has posted he is in hospital with a broken arm, a broken foot and possible ankle ligaments problems. Get well soon Dean, the friendly meeting was called off due to the then absence of the Ambulance.

Teams for tonight are expected to be :- Newcastle Diamonds Ludde Lindgren, Tero Aarnio, Kevin Doolan(guest), Matthew Wethers, Paul Starke(guest), Carl Wilkinson, Ashley Morris Ipswich Witches Ben Barker(guest), R/R Nico Covatti, Cameron Heeps, Josh Pickering(guest), Rory Schlein, Connor Mountain, Canyon Hume. Weather is perfect and warm and it promises to be a tight contest with the strong Ipswich team and a rejuvenated Diamonds. Why not stay back after the meeting and watch the young stars of a NJL standard friendly between the Gems and a Bob Hughes Welsh select team.

Redcar v Scunthorpe championship shield
Tsunami replied to Tosh1218's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think it changed under Labour by Abbott. -
Definately true. Ludde has done 3 engines in this year, and when he gets over that he is easily able to get back to a 7.5 average.
-
???? Yes. I mistakedly still had Robbo on 7.02, so same old for his replacements.
-
Those new averages are based over 20 last meetings in both 2017 and 2018, and now include Championship Shield points, despite League Cup and Shield meetings not usually included. It does men the likes of Ludde has only just dropped a little, and Ash's average has only increase marginally after it has been rolled over the 20 meetings. With Robbo at number 1, we can get a decent number 1 for the next 5 meetings, giving the promotion a breather to get a Rose replacement in during that month.
-
Probably true bcf. The alternative would have been to have double home and away meetings, but that in itself would bring trouble with an unmanageable number of meetings which is proven we can't all fit in with the natural events of call offs due to the weather, and the inability for teams to work together to get cancelled meetings on earlier and beat the deadlines.
-
That's my thoughts. We have a few weeks to have a good look, but we already have Jesper Olsen and Eric G looking for one and there was a hint that a new rider could become available later in the year when we were first looking for a number 1. Doesn't have to be a Dane, but it has worked for us so many times since I got Jesper.

Wonder how long we can keep going with guests.

Newcastle vs Sheffield 29/4/2018

Must admit I nearly put a vest on last night. Then I thought that Neil Rickerby wouldn't, so I thought again. -
I usually ignore Redcar fans.

Newcastle vs Sheffield 29/4/2018
Tsunami replied to highside's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
He feels at home with us and is wanted. He held back signing for anyone else at the end of last season when we were in doubt about running, hence the reason we were in a position to announce him as our first signing when we made the decision to run. A bit like Schram, Mills, etc, Ash has been dropped on a regular basis by other teams till they all came to us and suddenly became decent riders. It must be something in the Geordie water. Kyle Newman is another who always wants to ride for us but the distance puts him off. -
Couple of years ago Ludde had a double max in a double header at Edinburgh, a 15 pointer and a 9 in a curtailed meeting before the curfew.

A very competitive meeting on a very cold evening. Some good battles between Kieran and Josh, the first bend deciding the end positions. Very competitive racing in the 125's with Archie outgating Sam and Luke in the first two races, with Luke pushing very hard in the second race. In the third, Archie had trouble with his clutch lever, and Sam and Luke roared away with Archie this time a bit behind then. Good entertainment and appreciated by everyone watching them. With our previous three meetings at Berwick , I think finishing 30 - 6 each time, to get so close and only get beat 21-15 it all seemed like a victory. Well done to all riders, and a friendly meeting with the Berwick representatives.

Uilly was a very lucky guy last night last night. He drifted out on the forth bend and, with no grip, he hit the fence hard and him and the bike were strewn down the straight. The first rider in third place chose to go though the gap between the bike and Ully, but the last rider seeing it all late, chose to go though the gap between Ully and the fence, and watching it in the pits , it was a good choice which only just came off. Situations like that need quick and correct actions and because of the actions of those two riders Ulli was not so badly injured.
