The thing you are missing might be that if the reserve berths are used correctly, in a Fast track system the reserves could be protected and stay at reserve regardless.

Despite your snide snitching, the ref obviously gave it the thumbs up as being fit for purpose. Since you were last there they could of course remedied the issues you mention. Your issues of course are still with you. -

Nick Morris, like Kyle Howarth normally, over rides on full throttle and when he catches a rut or loose dirt he is then airborne. Not the tracks fault if certain riders are throttle happy, Actually the last visits of both Howarth and Morris they rode great, and it was their best meetings at Brough. So it can be ridden, but the brain has to be in gear of course. -

It's always been the rule for non speedway absences. -
The boy did well. Brilliant gate in the final, but was partially blocked 1st bend, but turned back down the straight and they never saw him again. Some good racing in the heats and final, just beating the stadium deadline 10.00pm.

It is, and I don't deny it SP. They got everything wrong with the fixtures, and compounded the problems also with going for fixed nights (except Swindon) which was supposed to get rid of all guesting problems. It has not been a good year for decision making, so the BSPA are currently putting much thought into trying to repair the damage, work more together, and come out with a workable solution for the future. We will see but from comments that I have heard, it does seem to be in the right direction and affordable.

Championship League Riders Championship

Mauger, Brian Craven, Brian Brett, Peter Kelly. Remember in '65/66 we were the team that the new structure in the Shawcross Report was based on. Provincial League teams had to strengthen up to us, and the British League had to drop to our level. Great days and great support. -

Same as the Provincial League Riders Championship at Belle Vue in the 60's. Great day out with the Zoo and then the Speedway at night, and chips on the way home. We sent over 19 bus loads in about 1964ish. -
I was quoting Stoke Potter, nowt to do with Swindon Stadium. I think Mike Butler above has given a good responce on the Stadium situation but.
-
Runa Holta, the Norwegian Pole.
-
Stupid question again I see. There has been discussions going on for a little while due to the Fixtures chaos, and next year's structure has been reconsidered to try to rectify the situation.
-
Yes I thought that would have been him then. Changed quite a bit, especially the hair. We would of recognised each other I think, with me on the Supporters committee and Jen's Parents Prominent on the committee.
-
Didn't realise that Ivan was there. Presume he was sitting over the front left side with grey hair near you. No messing with Ivan keeping the pits working properly in the 60's.

I share a lot of your views there CH958. A big league would be the end of the Diamonds with us being a Sunday track, and against the power of Poland. Div 2 for me as well.

Bollocks, and the usual over reaction from critics like you, easily offended and looking for an alternative slant. Promoters, like all other business's, don't need to tell all their business during discussion/negotiations but do need to communicate news when it is finalised and can be reported.
-
They do when there is agreement and some sort of new plan. That's the time to do their duty to inform the public/fans and not before. You can talk all day with fans, but any input would be so different ,and varied there would be as many losers and winners with putting their ideas through.
-
So less people in a lesser sport want more high profile consideration with ongoing discussions. It's not only the promoters that want a shake at times.

Wey aye. -
I think the Promoters collectively know all the options, as it's not exactly the sole prime exclusive interest of the sports fans. What they have of course is the cost of everything, and the the consequences of whatever is decided good or bad, unlike supporters who all differ anyway. As I said, and Skidder1 has commented on, why harangue the BSPA for not announcing they are having a meeting, and not publish the outcomes which may well be getting carried over to another meeting or a secret vote after the meeting in order to proceed. In say a sports football problem, like signing a new player, the clubs don't tell the press where they are meeting, who they are signing, what they are offering, what the demands are, and who the alternatives are and how far down the road they are at with the alternative player. It's all done and dusted first, and the outcome announced for the sports fans and administrators to move on. Expectations of some on here are mostly fanciful and inconsistent with what they might thing about other sports or businesses. Get real.
-
I think that with any big decisions to be agreed and announced by the BSPA, there will aways be 'winners' and 'losers' hoping that the sport is the real winner in the longer term. Difficulty is, even fans have different expectations so there will always be some winners and losers amongst even them. Of course as with a lot of this type of thread, all the usual losers flock to then to regurgitate their own personal hobby horses, which of course they will never be called on to take on the risks like the promoters do. You can guarantee the same forumers will be to the fore on the proposals that have been discussed and agreed by the BSPA, just because it's he only thing that they are about. SAD. Once a critic, always a critic with some.
