  1. I think he is the Riss brother that rides long track. I would like him, and remember he had a higher average that Wells last year so that says something. He also rode very well at the 4's. Bit high at 8.58 to fit in though. I think you can assume Danny on a 2.00, that would leave 38.00 - 25.95 = 12.05 for the last 3 riders. Ludde or Kus and another 2 pointer plus about a 4 pointer to finish the team off. Pretty difficult to get a good balanced team with such a low team points total but at least it's the same for everyone.
  2. As long as Wullies pop doesn't step up.
  3. You could be right, and if so he also should have the reduction.
  4. Because the reduction is for coming through the Conference/National League prior to riding for the team in a higher league. Richie rode in the Conference team I think at Scunny, but Harris probably only rode for Trewlawny in the PL before going on to bigger teams.
  5. Once a team signs a loan contract, they can collect a loan from another club who he moves on to. It is assumed the loaning club has paid for the rider that year, and if he moves on again they collect the loan fee, not the original owner who loaned the rider out in the first place. It may be different now, but I think cross league loan moves assume the converted average between the two leagues. I remember reading about Coventry, I think who had paid £4500 to loan Hans Andersen many years ago(between 2 Elite teams) so it can be seen that it is quite lucrative to have your assets working even if it is for someone else.
  6. Yes THJ. There is about 4 bands of averages(say 3-5, 5-7,7-9, and 9 and over) and each rate has a financial value against it. You multiply the value against the actual average, and you get the loan fee due for a season. i would guess a loan fee for Cookie would be about £3k to a championship team.
  7. Yes, that was the same circumstances last year, but as THJ suggests in the previous post, he then proceeded to mess people around, signing and unsigning and eventually got picked by Redcar. Too fickle to deal with.
  8. Run along son, or you'll be late in the morning for school.
  9. Don't forget that with fixed nights in the PL being mon and Thursday, it is still attractive to get any PL rider to double up without worrying about fixture conflicts. There must be a few with dual averages making some of them bargain signings.
  10. Difficulties are that if Tero does well, and gets picked on a regular basis by his Polish team, Newcastle is screwed as other clubs will only change some fixtures but not all. Heyho, in those circumstances I know quite a number on here who would be condemning George given he knew that Tero's Polish fixtures did get in the way of his Diamond fixtures. Would have preferred both Tero and Ash as they are honest and loyal triers, but we now have to go down another path starting with Nike. He is an exciting rider, but prone to big crashes, so he should be an exciting rider to watch especially away on the bigger or faster tracks.
  11. Been based in Sweden since most of last season. Just flies in for the meetings.
  12. Only if it was agreed that Harris rode to the same level for both his teams in the two leagues.
  13. I may have been told wrong, but I was told that this year the clubs took it upon themselves to arrange their own fixtures direct with their opponents. Unfortunately in that system the strongest are the most belligerent, and I would imagine that some clubs like Worky lost out, especially when the Friday meeting were wiped out for some and there was no interest/cooperation in arranging replacement dates, leaving them all instead to the usual end of season mayhem. In the past, fixtures were in the capable hands of Colin Pratt and John Campbell for their respective leagues, and each club could reserve certain attractive fixtures like Good Fridays and some holiday Mondays as well as allowing for known clashes with other events, or no track availability. I know who are the best to arrange the fixtures and it's not the promotions.
  14. Quite agree. I think some Glasgow fans are overreacting to genuine comments on the promotions tactics and behaviour during the signing and contract details of prospective riders for the following season. There is NO hatred, or a wish to see ANY club close, by any forummers on here. Instead, we all see a certain irony that a team known for dubious attempts to get a rider to move to them, instead of staying with a club who they have already agreed to join, pleading hardship because of their own practices. I also think it is dubious that Glasgow fans don't accept that some on here, including me, do not know actually deals, when with a bit shopping around at Ashfield there will be people who will tell them. It has gone on, so why try and ignore what others know.
  15. By also insisting on the set race nights, doubling up will still exist but the nights that they double up will not be in conflict. That is in addition to your point that the league conversation rate would make it less attractive.
  16. Although the usual intention is to pay regularly, there are times when it is almost impossible, but it is how it is handled that's important. I remember a month of June many years ago, when we did not have any home meetings, but all our away meetings took place. Typical cashflow, as clubs don't have spare cash splashing around that they can use. We talked to the captain, and some affected riders, and it was agreed that we would make payments every month over the rest of the year until we caught up, and some federation agreed fees were then to be paid at the end of the season. That was agreed and implemented, and riders who rode for us that year continued to ride for us the following year. I believe the same approach was adopted at Worky last year and they certainly didn't ride as if they were pissed off for the rest of the season.
  17. My daughter has gone down for a special show tonight, after the Elton John Aids Foundation performance in London, by Take That with Robbie. Got tickets for Take That when they are at the Riverside, Middlesbrough next year.
  18. I have read chapter and verse how he weaselled his way into Rangers , getting control, getting the stand naming, the merchandising, the rights and putting Lambias in to run it for him. Lambias I read, I think in Keagans recent biography, was the most horribleist person he ever had to deal with. Some reputation eh, he came to us to be Managing Directory on the basis that he headed up a Casino. Sounds about right for him. Incidently, it was also rumoured the we go Pardew only cos he was cheap as he owned a lot of money gambling it away in Lambias's Casino. I'll leave my thoughts out on Wise. Lets hope we are both rid of the High Street saviour pretty soon.
  19. Which also gives him the opportunity to be with him at meetings on days when he is not riding, so everyone's a winner.
  20. The good news is that Ashley may well have got a buyer who is pretty 'firm'( that's the interest, and not what you are thinking) and he is hoping that the deal can be done before the end of the January transfer period. Difficult is whilst this is going on there will be no transfers in or out, and the deal will probably be done late in the month, and "not enough time to get any deals" over the line as Ashley likes to say. We will see. His best present to us will be to leave, get out, and change the ownership on the 1st January. Wonder if he fancies going back to Rangers as surely he still has the stand named after him.
  21. Yea. Ashley out and our Ashley back in. Think, and hope, he will be back with us where he started to realise his potential, after losing his teamplace at Worky, Peterborough, etc. Got to be remembered that Ashley waited for a teamplace with us before we confirmed we were running in 2018. Riders like that, loyal to a promotion, are hard to come by and deserve to be in queue before others. He rode in my afternoon training school late in the season, and loved being with the young riders, and especially riding on the small bikes that the kids first ride. He was in his element and everyone loved having him there for that day.
  22. I thought I read that Klindt couldn't ride Sundays/Championship next year due to Polish commitments. Possibly was on the Worky thread.
  23. I know for a fact that one top rider was offered terms, only for him to sign for someone else so top riders are being spoken to. I think toontrader is spot on with his post above. Let the money clubs outbid others with silly money, and the other riders will know they aren't going there, so they might think they need to get signing for someone.
