I think Newcastle Diamonds have come out of this situation quite well. I know many people had doubts of certain team members, whilst others reassured us that our riders would be OK once given the chance to get used to our technical track. What's happened has happened, but bringing in Stevie again has pleased everyone, and whilst I would have gone for MacDonald, Simon should be a useful addition especially away on the bigger tracks. Remember the chance that was given to Matty W last year, and how he overcome his lack of racing and in many meetings proved to be as good as a heatleader. If he can continue in the same vein next year, Simon adds a few points, Max produces some winning rides and Danny beats his opposite numbers, I honestly think the team can go places injuries permitting. As others have said, heat 13 and 15 could be tied up in our favour in both home and away meetings so as long as the rest chip in, we will do OK. Also Gems to win the NJL this year.

Thanks for that. There is a reason why it might be Simon.

Just hope the Visa situation for Josh could be overcome to get the lad to ride for us.

I was only there once in 1963(it's last year but I didn't realise that at the time). I loved it and the racing was great. It didn't ride like a circle like Somerset, but could be ridden very fast for a small track, I would image it could be ridden by big and small track riders alike. I suppose a bit like Mildenhall. Without being racist and controversial, it was a big shock for me and my mate visiting New Cross and seeing everyone coloured until we went into the Post Office and got serve by a white guy. It was a shock and eyeopener for someone who comes from Newcastle/North East and had never seen that before at home.

Yes I agree. Last year we took big time to the riding of Edinburgh's Josh Pickering, and he was on everyone's wanted list for this year. He was a free riding rider flying around the boards at Brough, of all places, similar to Ludde on a good night. Here we have a situation of a similar rider, praised by those who have actually seen him last year, and he is over here with a patriality visa, with bikes, and ready to ride, and we gain an asset. What's there not to like.

Thank goodness. JBA and Lasse were old teammates at Redcar in 2017. That have a history of riding each out, and there has been track incidents both at Redcar and away. Get’s a bit feisty at time. Quite pleased JBA doesn’t fit.

JBA and Lasse would be a reunion to watch. Did you mean MBA ?

I get it to 4.26 left after Steve's reduction.

Like everyone I was sorry to see us changing the 1 - 7 at this late stage of the season. Given Luna's withdrawal, and no natural replacement that I can see, it was unfortunate we had to drop another rider to improve the chance of still getting decent a team for the fans. The obvious one was Tero but he had and has reaffirmed his decision to go for it in Poland this year, so that ruled him out of the original team as well as this reshuffle. Fortunately Stevie was still available and looking for a ride in the championship, so he really is the best we could do for many reasons. Imagine, we now a have a top three of Stevie, Jorgensen and Lasse. Unbelievable. Leading riders to add to the current 6 would appear to be between Simon Lambert, Carl Wilkinson (if not retired) or even better, Josh Macdonald. He is apparently available, free to sign especially if he is in the country already, or has plans to still come over, and we would be training up our asset. Can see another signing pretty soon.

Is this the Aussie who doesn't need a visa. ? Anybody like Pickering and I would grab him.
-
Not matter really as Tero is very definitely Polish bound.IMO.

As pointed out by someone to me this morning, probably 90+ % of deals are made by text these days, due to the difficulty of catching riders in differ countries and their inability to answer them at that time. A benefit is that it is a record of what is being said, rather than an option what was said. Update. For those offended on behalf of Victor earlier, please note that Luna TEXTED his withdrawal from the team. #justsayinglike

See others posts to the contrary Your insinuation not mine Obviously not, I am still waiting for proof that I said that or even insinuated it. Stiil waiting. He can't, cos he makes things up, like him saying I have said things that clearly I didn't. And can't produce the proof. If you look at his previous, he has regularly posted defamatory posts out of line with others views toward Newcastle. He's just a sad person I assume. BTW phillipsr, I don't run Newcastle Speedway. I am a fan like everyone else.

I don't think there will be a new manager as it's well known that Tai and Rosco are not particularly matey, but they still work together.

in the Glasgow case, in every version the key culprit is a rider vaping in a non smoking hotel friendly with the speedway promotion, and due to the fire alarms going off the hotel it had to be evacuated and the Fire Service had to attend just in case. All the 3 version don't dispute that fact, so the fringe points and the timings are not really that relevant and could be wrong for deliberate or best endeavours reasons. I think the outcome is quite satisfactory to everyone, except one person.
-
Tero with his great history in big events, would be more likely to gain a place in Poland than Rose, who turned out to be only a squad player so quit his team for us.
-
It was thought that's why we didn't sign him before Worky.
-
Tero in Poland on Sundays(some).
-
Right thicko. Point out where I said that. I'm in all night.

I know of three deals like that in recent years, when the Diamonds got let down. Wasn't put on here.

He never has for some reason.

2019 Championship Confirmed Signings

You should stop guessing then. -
Utter bollocks from the usual culprit.

As has been said several times on here, we as a promotion have never deserved a reputation for this kind of treatment of riders. I would go further and say we are one in the best promotions and our ex riders are very loyal to us for the treatment we gave them both when riding for us, and after they have left. Examples are Kyle Newman, all of the Danes, Jason Lyon, Derek Sneddon, etc. So I find it hard to believe this has happened. Of course nobody on here knows the circumstances, and if we were to replace a rider, you can be sure we would have a replacement rider lined up and announced straight away to move on. The fact we haven’t suggests something has happened, and the search for a replacement rider has now just started. It’s easy to surmise or guess what has happened but until there is a formal announcement surely it is best to wait and see.

Yes, you need a visa, and a sponsor who can guarantee things like weekly payment and accomodation. Not needed if they have British patriality in their family, upto grand parents level I think or dual nationality.
