News for fans of standard 2V engines
Tsunami replied to Vince's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
That's not the detail that I heard. Apparently the commission for the bought engines, was progressive, and based on the number of engines bought. There was never a one lump of £300,000 paid. -
Well they have at least had the guts to try and make it pay, and it cost them a lot of money to do so. Rent a solution people on here get off lightly by not being asked or prepared to actually give it a go, and risk their own money on any silly suggestions that they come up with. Very safe seat that one.

Ha Ha. Not quite the right spin on it again. When it was confirmed, it was understood to be a reward to the promotions to maintain the team strengths, and as expected a most needed increase in the income stream to keep speedway more viable. Certain powerful riders from another country, upped their demands followed by home riders in the same class. That filtered down to lesser riders , and in order to keep SKY happy and retain the top riders, the promoters were forced to cave in just to retain the status quo. You could blame the promoters, like you usually do, but the alternative would have been vastly reduced team strengths, and SKY possibly rethinking the deal as the UK speedway bosses would have been though to not delivering their side of the deal. The potential windfall reluctantly went to riders, who held the them Elite League promoters to ranson. A very sad joke indeed but for different reasons to yours.

Not sure that's true in relation to Newcastle. Yes we have pollution problems, but it has been pointed out to Newcastle Council that that the tolls don't do anything to stop the pollution in the first instance so the clear air problem would still be with us. Being a Labour led Council, and always moaning about government cuts, it's likely that the council see it as a money spinner to get more money in their coffers. Liverpool and Newcastle are probably the hardest hit of the larger councils with the cuts.

7 out of 9 points. NJL level.
-
He was at the meeting riding in a Gem's NJL meeting after the main meeting.
-
I can assume then that you don't watch the cricket World Cup matches or play squash between the innings.
-
To be fair, if you are not a 'biker' this can be a common occurrence.
-
No.

It's just the usual throwaway line. There was a purge last year and a lot of freebies stopped coming. it's not a problem now as long as riders, team and juniors, play by the rules.

Sheffield Vs Redcar 7/7/19 Championship
Tsunami replied to TigerAl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It normally is for most people, but being speedway riders with laser treatment they can get back in three weeks. Depends also if it is plated or allowed to heal in position. -
The track last night was very good. Two spells of grading brought it back both times. The telltale sight is the sameness of times within a couple of seconds. It even held Barker with those extra fast dives into the bend, and then around the boards. One of the best performances I have seen from Barker.

Way too high that quotation.

Etheridge had quite a decent meeting at Brough last week. One of the ones that kept your score decent.

Glasgow v Redcar KO Cup 5/7/19@19.30
Tsunami replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
He's probably read it on a bog wall. Anyway, he's not called Bellend for nothing. -
I remember seeing him at Brough and he was capable of decent races, in fact I seem to remember we used him as a guest once at Brough. Unfortunately he had a mixed period at I think Edinburgh, and they disposed of him cos of his inconsistency's.

Redcar v Glasgow KOC (1st leg)
Tsunami replied to SuperBear's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The revamped team was probably being put together over a week ago and then sent to BSPA for the manditory 3 days notice. if a rider has a great meeting during those days it is hard lines for that rider, but the club can't undo it and then affect say 5 or 6 riders. What's done is done and life goes on. Tough on the rider but he wouldn't have been in this situation if his scoring had been better. I thought the 'text' matter had been discussed out in about February. Text is often used, as pointed out in those discussions and is standard because of the speed that information can be 'transmitted`. When Nike dropped us in, and Steve just happened to become available with Worky's closure, it could have been a text to Steve, we will never know. If the club had waited for Palovaara to return calls, he could have got wind of the new circumstance early with cries of 'so why didn't you text him instead' would have been the common comment on here. Losers either way. -
Been out doing things. You should try it

Just read the other thread thanks. Bloody hell, it's a bit of a surprise for Ulrich after last night's performance.
-
Have I missed something. Surely Ulrich is in Redcar's 1 to 7 and already rode for them at home last night and not as a guest.
