It is the same Bill Andrew who was also a jockey. Last I heard about Peter Kelly was that he took his family to New Zealand I think in the late 60's. He was a painter and decorator. BTW The site is run by a forumer DantoDan.

Spot on. What do people expect, Nicki just to roll over and not try to get back in. It was all he could try and if the ref had been favourable well great for Nicki. It is the World Championship afterall and this is the first incident that anybody could even question as he has been so far ahead of everyone else. Star turn our Nicki and a true world champ. Did I miss Lupus's post. -
Sad to hear this. He brought, along with his teammates, a fresh look to speedway racing in the 60's. Remember those clipback bars except one of them,Kadirov or Kurilenko I suspect. Their dashing style and wild riding set them out from the others usually trying to hug the white line. A fine rider who seemed to be well thought of by his contemporaries. RIP Igor

Great win for Nicki, was never really tested. Wonder if all his FANS will come on here to applaud him.

Our first and opening meeting in 1997 was on a cinder track made of 'furnace bottoms' from a local Alcan smelter. It was secretly tested right through the 1996/7 winter on paths in the area. After it was laid we compacted it but only produced a crust which could break up. Andre Compton got a spiral fracture at our P and P and the track started to brake up badly in our first meeting. Jesper Olsen broke a collar bone from a crash late in the meeting. A decision was made to ditch it and by the following week the old shale from Cleveland Park was all lifted, transferred to Brough and we had a superb 2nd meeting albeit with guests.

What a loss to speedway and Wolverhampton you are going to be. Nigel Pearson, CVS, Nicki P, all the Great Britain team(except current popular CH), a lot of people on here including Me and Silver Bee now, all your favourite people. To paraphrase you, I was watching speedway when you were c**ping in your pants young woman but it don't make you or I a better person. There is opinions and being opinionated, you decide. Or as you keep telling everyone DEAL WITH IT. Very nice. -

Given that all the other company's have no plans for Speedway, it is therefore no surprise that SKY have a monopoly when they show the sport on TV. More power to their elbow and praise where it is due. If they pulled out would you moan about them then. Briam Hamilton has it right, we should be delighted that they are giving us tremendous publicity(and paying for the priviledge). -

Cheers. It looks like trains or car hire at the mo. Wor lass has written to the Embassy asking for advice. -
A complete and stupid suggestion. You obviously do not know the man and what's important to speedway riders. It was in Ivan's interest to be associated with the "new" world champion" and your saying that he put him out on a duff bike so his rider would lose a world championship. Utter nonsense. Be interesting to hear Steve Hone's reaction to such a suggestion.

Can't really believe the news report. The guy wanted it and when the following rider came under him he let the bike run but his weight shifted to the back and the inevitable flip was going to happen. The posturing was always going to happen no matter who the rider was, it's standard practice. Note he didn't carry on about it but walked sadly off. Funny how people who don't like him seem to see things different. Oh well, they will be back next year paying into the pot to watch him again. Although the track is the same for everyone, I didn't realised how bad it was cut up until the lights went out and they only had the spots on. With the low down light there were massive ruts everywhere signified by the shadows where the ruts were. All riders did well to ride that track and gave us some scarry fast racing. -

At about the second Cardiff GP a certain Newcastle rider and his mechanic managed to crawl under the green netting on the third bend and thrust a large Dannish flag in Nicki's hand. They crawl back and went back into the crowd. -
