There is usually a meeting of NL, and potential NL Chairman, in January hosted by I think Peter Morrish. The fixtures for the EL and PL are in an advance stage and the resulting fixtures for the NL are slotted in accordingly.

I think you will find that it is not financially viable to any of the riders in the GP's. Costs are massive and the income will never meet the expenditure. What the GP's do is to showcase the rider to get higher earnings in the bigger leagues. Remember both Hamill and Bjarne dropped out, if it paid they would have stayed.

Try the site www.defunctspeedway.co.uk and you will find Crewe under C. Some great pics and articles put together by forum member dantodan.

Wayne is Barry's younger brother, who came over to ride for Edinburgh at Old Meadowbank in about 1961. A raw talent, who was not frightened to ride flat out, and subsequently seemed to get injured quite a bit. Always seemed to have broken wrists. Good rider to watch though.

I remember him, he used to wear leathers which were in quarters, different colours. Most unusual design.

That's what I was hoping, and also betting that that would be your reply. Not knocking your vast knowledge but I think Kevin's view on the track is a tad more applicable in this case. -

That's who the target for Glasgow at Brough is. Great choice, one of my favourite genuine riders, and I would have been mighty disappointed if it had been Fisher. Incidently, can anybody who went to Birmingham for the Premier Trophy final meeting help me. Someone took a photo of BongoBrian, and George(our honorary Diamond fans for the night) holding the PT trophy in the bar after the meeting. If it was you, or someone you know, can you speak to me tomorrow night at Brough so we can arrange to get a copy of it to Brian and George. They are desperate to get a copy of it and it would be great to find who took the photo and get them a copy. Many thanks. Another comfortable win tomorrow but sadly, with it not being a holiday in Scotland, we will be robbed of the company of many Glasgow fans including George and Paulco. All is not lost mind as BongoBrian will be in attendance. -
Following on from Sunday's away meeting with the Tigers, as usual with Bank Holidays, along comes the home meeting on the Monday. Barring injuries of course both teams would hope to be fielding the same sides with Glasgow showcasing their big 2 in Screen and McGowan. Not sure about seeing Joe at Brough before but, like Travis, he will be up for it and give us a show especially the similarity of Brough to BV. Unfortunately I don't see much backup to them except Josh who has made steady progress this year and had excellent meetings at the Pairs and on the BV TV meeting. Looking for to see Nick Morris as his scores are matching the faith that others had in him. I see an easy win but then again, we thought that on the previous Bank Holiday meetings and look what happened there. Don't forget it is still a 6.30 start on Bank Holiday meetings. Unfortunately there will be no Training session in the afternoon once again, due to the bikes and van still being in the garage. I get it back this week and our next session will be 1.00pm on Sunday 12th September before the Berwick meeting. Next week of course we host Birmingham and that meeting is on the Monday night starting at 7.30pm. See youse all there.

Seen Arthur a couple of times. He apparently is more interested in road/track racing and treats speedway just for fun between his other meets. Comes across here with his Dad I think, and gets second halfs around the country. I have seen him at Newcastle and Edinburgh and he really is a talent despite that fact he would probably have to look upward to speak to Lasse Bjerre, he really is tiny and slight built. A great talent but destined elsewhere as I believe he is a sponsored team rider.

Thought your glasses were only for looking thought after you finished the Bow.

Only billybikespeedway making his usual waves on here. It is nice to see everyone sympathetic to the Mallets for what they were trying to do and giving the meeting every opportunity to be on. Contrast that with the comments of a couple of months ago and I think that Newport Speedway has come a long way since then. Good luck to them, and the team, and hope that the crowds are making it all worthwhile.

I suppose it would have been too late to divert to Somerest for their 10th Anniversay meeting(assuming that that is still on of course). If it is, I suppose they could call in and miss a couple of heats.

I'm not the only one then.

Now where did I put my specs.

Didn't know you had died. Welcome back.

Such a shame.

Thanks for the info about it not being on VirginMedia red button. Got it recorded now on the midnight replay.

Can't get the GP at all. Pressed the red button on both sets but nothing happens. Does this red button lark not work with Virgin Media being the supplier.
