Newcastle V Edinburgh Pl Monday 27th August 2012
Tsunami replied to dantodan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I have a photo of him on my mobile but can't download it. He has a little smile on and looks very bashed up. His nose has a mark on the side and it may be broken, an injury to the lid of his left eye, and the usual bumps ans scrapes you would expect from the inner lining of the helmet. He says he feels bashed up from the chest upwards but will be OK in a couple of days. I think he just needs a bit of a rest to get over the trauma of what happened and very pleased he hasn't broken something in such a valuable and delicate part of his body. He's actually been very lucky if you know how I mean it. No Pairs of course, and I don't really know about Monday against Edinburgh. He has said he would be OK in a couple of days but one has to remember he is a speedway rider and looks at things like this different from you and I probably. He does seem to be in good spirits thought so that is a big plus. Very pleased that if he is going to have this crash, it was at Coventry, where he lives and where I believe his wife's family live. Get well soon Stuey. -

That's one of it's biggest appeals. -
I was at the track virtually allday with the training and, after starting the session late at 1.15pm, it started to rain fine drizzle at about 1.50. After a quarter of an hour or so, we decided it was set in then, and we closed up. At that time the track was good and Jonny went around with the grader to mix any water and aerate it to make the track more consistant. The actual rain that fell was below what had been forecast on about 3 of the 5 weather forecast sites that I use regularly.

Newcastle Diamonds Training Sessions
Tsunami replied to Tsunami's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Rain again called a halt to the session after only about 40 mins run. Shame as we had 18 riders, mainly young, who were raring to go after some had had their very first rides last week. Good news is, that with rearrangements and some help again from our medical fans, we are now running the training sessions on the 2nd, 9th and the 16th of September which will probably be the finish for this year. The plan is still to start them at 1.00pm, but a couple of them might be switched to NOON because of other possible committments. More news on that nearer the time. With the next meeting being on a bank holiday Monday there will not be any training session on on that day. -

Given the forecasts on most sites, this fixture was always going to be a rainoff. But in saying that, at the training session at 1.15pm, it didnt rain and when the rain did come it was just light and the track looked great, a nice sprinkle of grip, and holding the rain well. Even getting near the start time. the rain was noway near that forecast, but with the constant drizzle the track eventually had to be stripped to base to try and get it on. Felt sorry for the travelling Monarchs fans and the new fans who had booked through Groupon for this fixture. Pleased to hear that this fixture has been rearranged for Bank Holiday Monday 27th August at our usual time of 6.30pm. The readmission and Groupon tickets are being honoured, although the club I believe does not need to honour the Groupon. Good PR by the club and means another big crowd for a meeting which both clubs seemed intent on putting on tonight with no avail -

Newcastle Diamonds Training Sessions
Tsunami replied to Tsunami's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
We are looking at a dry sunny day on Sunday so the Training Session should be on. We start at 1.00pm till 2.30pm with continuus riding for riders of both sexes, young and a tad older, and of mixed ability to ride a bike. You will be provided with everything, Bikes and equipment, but either bring your own gear if you have any, or wear your strongest boots/shoes. If you have your own bike fine, but it can't be more than 150cc. It's all FREE with free instruction, on possibly the safest training bikes anywhere. If you can make it, could you turn up at 10am to help the sheeters get the sheets down on the dog track. Medical staff in attendance with SCB rules. Common you Diamond fans and have a go. See you all there -
I think the word you are missing is a 'realist'. I haven't got the chips that you have, so I can afford to be realistic when someone is so out of kilter like you. BTW How's them 24 mates that you claim to have. The word I am thinking is 'missing'.

Sounds like you don't know about life, as well as speedway. For a start most riders would probably not have heard of John Berry, like GP riders are going to add a meeting in a couple of days before the British GP, and according to you going to do it next to nowt. Get real.

Top 10 Riders On Current Form

Eh, Nick Morris I think. -
Pleased to hear that as he looks a gutsy kid. Nice to see.
-
Don't know whether he is currently available as he had a heavy tumble at Redcar against us, and was decidely second hand as he was forced to walk from the second bend back to the pits. He should have had a lift in the Ambulance, as he did not look good walking back and had to be carried up the hill to the pits. Get well soon Stefan, I was quite impressed with the lad.

Newcastle Diamonds Training Sessions

Hoping that the deluge of water last week has gone for good, we will be running the training school this Sunday starting at 1.00 to 2.30pm. Forecast is good so we should be OK. All gear, bikes etc, is provided FREE so if you are a Diamond fan, why not give it a try and see if you like it. Certainly we had a great set of youngsters last week, but they did not get second rides due to the deluge. In view of the greater number of youngsters, I will be bring more smaller bikes this week and of course big bikes for the bigger riders. If you can help out, it would be useful to get there for about 10 - 10.30am to lay the sheets on the dogtrack otherwise we can't the training school. See ya there -
I would think that Woffinden, Roynon,Garrity, and Haines were actually 'bought in' and not found at Rye House.

Gyn Taylor, the Leicester Team Manager and Track curator, also tunes Fishers engines.

Hyde Road, Trelawny, Old Meadowbank, Hackney, Bradford Odsal, with a mention for New Cross and West Ham.

Newcastle Diamonds Training Sessions
Tsunami replied to Tsunami's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well, we did manage to get the training session on but unfortunately not for long. After getting the sheets down on the doggy track, the gates and the netting in place, we managed to get about 35 minutes of riding before the heavens opened and it continued all afternoon. The PL meeting was called off and of course all the sheets then had to be taken off again in the poring rain. Finished about 4.00pm a bit clammy. Great response on the resumption of the sessions, with one 'mature' rider and 17 other Diamond fans ages ranging from 7 to about 17 year old. A great responce and very encouraging group of young riders. Despite the washout, I was delighted to see the response and enthusiasm from everyone involved. Don't forget it is on again next week starting at 1.00pm till 2.30pm and through to the end of September. Sheets need to be put down, starting at 10.00am, so if you can give us a hand it would be appreciated. All gear and bikes are provided and BTW it is all FREE.
