It was too easy without any fight from the Rockets screm. Apart from the first heat win Pijper was very average, as I thought he would be. Certainly Mellgren got better and faster as the night went on, and would have won heat 15 had he not had a lapse of concentration and drifted alarmingly across the fourth bend and nearly into the fence. Lykke was better than his points, particularly later in the meeting. The rest did nowt. Very confident Diamond team, and I agree that Christian looks so good and balanced on a bike these days. He has a bite now, to add to his gating skills, and has even learned to fight and pass from the back now. Definately one of the success stories of the season. A very good signing as is LL, what a character. All the Diamonds rode well and, if we can continue this sort of form, we will be getting some decents wins to get us back on top of the league, and be in a great position to challenge in the playoffs for the actual title. Bring it on.

Newcastle Diamonds Training Sessions

Straight up to the Metro immediately afterwards to see the TOON get three points, and then back to Brough to watch the Diamonds get hopefully three points. Just another lazy Sunday. Ta for that, now amended. -
Newcastle Diamonds Training Sessions
Tsunami replied to Tsunami's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Weather looks OK for Sunday so we should be having a Training Session starting at 1.00pm till 2.30pm. For the details of what we do, please read the previous posts but remember, it is all FREE, all I would ask is for you to bring strong boot/shoes. Everything else is provided. As we have to have sheets down on the doggie track for it, if you can come earlier at say 10.00am to help the sheeters it would be appreciated. Thanks. -

Didn't see this as I was at Birmingham before the Friday. Eventually ended up at the PoW anyway on the Friday night. Long queue's down to the toilets as someone was having it off in one of them. Any names or confessions from anyone. -

Cardiff Date For 2013
Tsunami replied to lynnboy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Another prob next year is that the Halls at the UNI are not available, as June is the last month for the students. Been searching allday for a sensible alternative and there is nowt near that is. In the Bay SCB, some of the courts are £800 for 2 days and most city hotels are 'full' or are stupid prices. Eventually in a Travelodge for £39pn about 7 miles away. Now for the tickets, when everyone advises if they are going now. Last year I booked 31 repeat tickets together. Probably gone now. -
British Grand Prix 2012

The Doc was the only fully qualified and stated medic for the meeting. Those in the pits were surprised they heard the next race start and I confirmed that it had been shown on the big screens in real time. -

They did and that was the reason I watched the replay to check. It was also noted by some in the pits. Must say the Doctor was hardly a good advert for his profession although I am assured he is a very good Doctor.. -

Anybody notice that Heat 12 was started when the Doctor was seen on TV still attending Jason in the pits, and therefore technically not available. -

About 3 years ago we paid £87 for the Holiday Inn and booked for the following year but it had gone up to £155. Decided after booking to go into the Halls at the Uni, and then found that the Holiday Inn had already taken the money non refundable as per the small print. Bloody robbers. -

It's always one of the contentious things with calloffs Ian. Leave it late and there is criticism about wasted time and money. Call off early and there is criticism that the meeting could and should of gone ahead, and you risk the fans imagination as to why they weren't able to see speedway that night. Len Silver at Rye House is renowned for very early calloffs, especially with teams that have some travelling to do. Many a time we have received a call at 9.00am on a Saturday morning, and we have been staying overnight at a hotel in Swindon, following a meeting on the night previous at Somerset. Having breakfast knowing you are travelling home, instead of a wasted trip to Hoddeston then home, is a great consideration. Len gets lots of criticism but he is rarely wrong. -

Get a grip will you. It's great to see 'our' soldiers being given the priviledge to take part in such a festival of sport. If it wasn't for the racing, the stadium, the fireworks, the parking, the hotels, the campsites, the bloody Poles, the announcers, the programme and now the military invasion in sport, some folks would still find something to bloody moan about. Love you too. You can take the man out of Millwall, but you can't take the Millwall out of the man. I'd believe Philip before you anytime. And this isn't the first time you have had a go at him, me or a couple of others. -

Bout time you started using them then. I WAS there, unlike you and Philip's stalker iris123, and the figures just about stack up. Spaces in the lower level on the 3rd/4th bend, but much more tickets sold this year in the upper tiers, especially on the back straight. If you don't want to believe things, don't make a mug of yourself. -

We used to stay there till a couple of years ago when they raised the price from £87 to £155 the following year, and then proceed to take out the whole amount for the two of us before i could cancel. Guess what, it was in the small print so never been back since. Now stay in Halls at the Uni for about £25 a head per night, in a party of 40 from Newcastle. Incidently, with Walkabout being refurbished this weekend, where is the 'scene' that everyone is going to instead. Any local got any tips where to go. -

Yes. The same way that Worky used Topinka, and we used Jason Lyons for longish spells last year.
