By that then, because I have never murdered anyone, I can't have a view on the murderer and their activities. Silly argument. -

But no speedway, smell and noise. -
Sunday is the second last Sunday to get the trackwork finished. We have some posts to finish, mesh to put on and then it will be time to secure the plastic netting onto the mesh. That will allow us to start fixing the kickboards to the posts and it will start to look a bit more near completion. Kickboards are a big job and need to be right and it will take us through to next Sunday 17th when it is hoped it will be completed. It that does not look likely we will have to seek permission to do some midweek working. It really is critical and I hope again we get the usual workers, even though we are going to start at 9.00am on Sunday, and the fact that there could be some light snow at 9.00am but not returning till 6.00pm after we have finished and left the stadium. Wrap up in warm clothing. and note we will not be painting so it wont get it on your clothes. Warm drinks and bickies will be available throughout the day. As you will gather, it really is important we have a big day on Sunday and YES I am missing the TOON against Stoke, it is that important. See ya there.

2013 British Youth Championship
Tsunami replied to Mimmo's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Thanks Wayne for that info. Item 4. In the 125 British Championship, you say the bike has to conform to SCB standards. Does that mean dirt deflector, oil catcher, exhaust system, minimum weight, etc. Seems a bit harsh, as I don't think a lot of say junior 125cc bikes would be capable of meeting the full SCB requirements. -
At least you are walking. One, who you know, is on crutches and is currently in the RVI. Not a bad night considering the little match on the TV, so we only had 12 players, but who played right through the hour with not having any subs. Despite the fatigue, injuries, dispute about the score, knackered feeling this morning and the one lame one in the RVI having his knee evaluated, everyone's comments seem to be about when the next 6 a side match is, and also keeping the number to about 16 max. Some folks just never larn.

It was an excellent night with 10 of us in attendance. TOON players, Olympic medalists, young hopefuls for the future, and then second from last award came the top news for George and Newcastle Speedway. Champagne flowed and the night was complete. A nice start to the season.

Not true. They did try and the concept was flawed that's all. They did communicate with each other as that's how they found out it was flawed. Not fair criticism.

In your opinion.

A big thank you for all that turned today and who worked so hard. A few setbacks today, but we still have a big hill to climb to get ready for the season start. We will be there next Sunday again, but starting at the earlier time of 9.00am. If you can come along later, just come along when you can as all help would be welcomed.

Official Clothing Available To Speedway Supporters
Tsunami replied to Race IT's topic in Souvenirs & Memorabilia etc
Yes I know jaybea, and I used to be one of your trade customers. When we set up Newcastle Speedway in 1997, we designed a jacket and got it made by Wulf. I think we had to give an order for say 50 covers, which they then made up in all the sizes. They sold quite well and I still wear my own jacket at practically every meeting, to the amusement and embarrassment of my family. Demand outstripped the initial quantity, and we had to give a another minimum order to satisfy these orders, but were left with the excess and eventually sold them at a reduced price to get rid of them. This discounting of course bites into the small profit you make on the initial sales, and eventually you only just break even. Nowadays we go for a stock garment supplied by a trader, and make it personalised by embroidering with club emblems and name. The issue of quality is then removed, because you are buying a standard garment of high standard, and it is noticable now that the personalised embroidery is more suttle, which allows the wearer to wear say their club jacket as a fashion item which you were unlikely to a few years ago. Margins to sell them are small, but you can do repeat orders in small qualtities and maintain profit margins and have no left over stock at the beginning of the new season with of course the newer design. -

It's something you rub on if you are an athlete, or are cold at a speedway meeting apparently. -

Speedway clothing is bound to be higher priced, and could not be comparable with High Street items. For example, if a jacket/anorak sells say 100, the set up costs of artwork, design, production setup and costs have to be spread over those 100 jackets. A similar jacket sold in a High Street supplier can spread those same costs over many thousands, and produce a similar quality coat but at a lower price. If there is a requirement for addition merchandise after the first run, the High Street supplier, can repeat the production run just covering new production costs, because it can sell bigger numbers. In speedway you can't over order in the first case, nor can you justify a second run which will be produced at a higher item cost due to the lower run numbers. -
We still have Brian.

We will be down at the track on Sunday to try and break the back of the work that is still to be done. Posts to replace and new mesh to fit, but all the kickboards are made and painted. More hands will get it done. if you can make it we start at 10.00 and work till mid afternoon. Weather forecast is good for Sunday but still wrap up warm as it cuts in in the afternoon. General information is that Jonny is cutting the track from stupidoclock time and right through the day, and we will work around him on the track. On Tuesday, we have the return of the pre-season 6 a side footie match at SoccerDome, Royal Quays, North Shields. If you can play football, and want a game, PM or Text me so i can check numbers and pick teams. Be about £4-£5 depending on the numbers.

Latest Update From Oak Tree Arena

Desperate comment. It was me that mentioned the link, and I am a Newcastle fan, different team and different league. With folks like you, and your comments, one would think that Poole fans weren't allowed to post on the BSF. -

Certainly do. It has got to be remembered that a PL selling a good asset is a financial windfall for them that might have been factored in to their financial forecasts. Richer owners of the buying club should remember that when not honouring a transaction, they should think a bit more about contract conclusions and the knock on affects to others futures within the sport. A deal is a deal and should be met. -

Yup and he now rides for Peterborough. Funnily enough, there is a link here to both aborted signings. -
I read last week on here, that someone thought he has a good job in New Zealand and may not come back.

Or any other team to trust them. -
Not true. Widening tracks at the exit point of corners gives more space for riders to pass or ride alongside each other. Both Berwick and Workington opened up their corner exits in recent years to stop collisions and give another line out, and it greatly improved the racing at both places.

And you need to remember that the rider must have agreed to the transfer for it to have got to the stage of monies being due because of contracts. So therefore Dick didn't forget and didn't need to mention it. Talk about inventing a story.
