  1. We are holding a darts night with fans playing against riders. So far we have Jason, Andrew, Adam, Christian, Dewsy and possibly Ludvig. The venue is the The Wheatsheaf Hotel, Great Lime Road, on the corner beside the ASDA store at Benton, and is planned to start at 7.30pm, on Tuesday 30th April, 2013 NSSC non members fees to play is £1.50 and members £1.00, and teams will be made up of groups of 3 players playing best of three from 301, start and finish on a double. If you win, you get your stake back. Domino cards on for interesting prizes. Why not pop along for a different event and meet the lads and chuck a few arrows, darts provided. Let me know on here if you fancy joining us. Please note, children staying after 9.00pm must be having a meal. Dave R
  2. Apparently he does a motorcross circuit. Plenty of jumps and bumps last night, should have ridden and the Worralls and Kerr would have cleaned up.
  3. Yes, and perform like a clown on the tractor, and even do a lap with the winning team at the end. Unbelievable.
  4. He messed up in heat 2 by locking up going into the third turn banking, and was reasonable for the rest of his rides. Lewis is outshining him at the moment because of his form, but he is riding some decent heats, even if he gets taken by a heatleader late on in the race. I am sure he is tackling his lack of confidence and will grow like he did after the middle of last year. I am sure the promotion will see improvement and encourage him. It's what they do.
  5. Wow, steady Trigger. From what was said last night, it would appear the Richie probably will not be fit for it, so a guest will be needed for either Andrew or Richie, probably Andrew having the higher average. I would have fancied us with Richie in, but now have my doubts. We need Proctor to ride as he has been riding for Plymouth, rather than his Wolves form. I think we will still put up a good show, as all the Diamonds can give good match winning performances at times. If enough of them are on form, and we have a decent guest, we just might still do it. Anyway, a safe night for all riders please.
  6. Thank you boz for the fairest comments on the meeting, and the incidents last night. I heard the riders and the ref insisted that the track be bladed, and then bends 1 and 3 bladed again, to lesson the grip going in. Didn't think it was a particularly good idea to dump the excess on the apex of the bends from a safety point, but thankfully nobody went near them. The Richie/Aaron incident was a racing accident, but caused be Aaron cutting in across Richies racing line way before the 1st corner, and Richie, trying to get out of it by steering to the outside, got his front wheel hooked onto the back of Aarons bike. Should have been Aaron excluded, but just pleased that both walked back to the pits, Richie withdrawn and Aaron obviously injured, flexing his right leg off the footpeg and did well to continue racing. No surprise that he wasn't in heat 15. I think some of the Redcar fans really should open their eyes and give more slack to Richie. They still go about the Kus incident, from 18 months ago, and now saying he was at fault for not conceding to Aaron after being chopped by him. Oh Dear. One of the only things that Chris Gay got right all night was insisting on the track being totally bladed, and it did produce a flat safe strip but totally neutral in terms of passing. Dyers pass was only due to Robbo being stuck trying to protect his partner, but on the whole he was top class all night. The gating infringements, pulling back Christian when he made a brilliant gate, and then all allowing the gate from Osterguaard in heat 13 was baffling to say the least. We got talking to a set of mature Redcar fans, and thoroughly enjoyed their company with some thoughfull banter. We even got invited to stand with them at our next Redcar meeting, and surely that should be the standard of relationships, instead of the henious behaviour toward riders like Richie and genuine Diamonds fans. The usual get out being quoted of 'yes we all have them', but sadly the percentage of those fans at Redcar is not acceptable. And yes, We will probably stand with the same fans next time we go down. Thank you for your company gentlemen. Great result at the end, Redcar got their win, which they should have after we lost Richie, and the brilliance of the tactical move in heat 15 for the DIamonds to get the 5-1 we needed to get the point. Not all bad then.
  7. Many thanks boz. I think we would all appreciate an update when the circumstances change.
  8. Heard that there is a lorry accident on the A66 outside the Riverside Stadium, and the road is closed in both directions until the lorry is removed. Should be cleared by sometime after 5.00pm.
  9. Says the girl in Blue about the boys that are Grey. You obviously haven't seen me on the Squash court.
  10. There is a decent rolling chassis on eBay, item number 181127542960. It is currently at it's start price of £99 with 6 days 19 hours to go. Situated in Basingstoke. Hope that helps. EDIT Just checked and it is not an upright, sorry.
  11. Quite right Paul. The promotion and the fans want Andrew in the team, and Andrew would presumably like to earn some money as it is his living after all. Doing OK with RR, but you are vunerable if someone has a bad night or gets injured. BTW Taylorj is usually sceptical when it comes to Newcastle, so nowt new there. You kind of expect it now.
  12. I think Howarth would have known there was no engine noise behind him. He was late looking back for Rusty, on the last corner last lap, but by that time it would have looked so silly and risky, to have slowed down to a crawl to let Rusty pass. I did say at the time I wondered whether TM Jacko had told Howarth that Rusty was on a TR, but of course he did, otherwise Howarth wouldn't have looked back for Rusty. A decent win, which got of to a great start with some lightning gating, but after the sun break and grading, Worky hit back. Their 5-1 in heat 13 was a shock, and it only needed an unfortunate ride in heat 14 or 15, and we were going to lose a point. Fortunately agent Bach ruled that possibility out. Deeper track last night, fast racing with slower times, kept it interesting. The second bend was usually ridden like in the KB days, when riders drifted right across the track midcorner, and rode in the dirt parallel to the fence out of the second. Bit scary at times when especially Luddi was picking up drive, and he was having to put it down straight and quickly with the gas still on. Luddi seems to love it, and was letting the bike run in the dirt, rather his usual fast inside way. Good nights for Christian and Richie, but not such a fortunate night from Robbo, who was not happy with his, or should that be his bikes, performances. Great having the potential of 5 decent heat leaders in the team and a night like Robbo's does affect the score too much. I am sure he will be fine for Redcar on Thursday though. Not such a good night for the reserves with some still decent support for the team but Lewis very unfortunate with an engine lockup when nearly winning heat 2 with ease. On to Thursday now, and Redcar who must perform better than they did the last time at home to us. Dyer was flying until last night against us, and the enigma that is Kus might start to get points that Redcar need from him. Prospects of a competitive meeting. Apart from the grading, which obviously needed to be done when the dirt was loose early on, there seems to be a consensus these days with a lot of clubs to grade every 4 races, a bit like the GP's. Last night was sometimes extensive with water also put down around the outside lines. We haven't always done grading every 4 races, but it does mean the track is kept similar for the whole meeting and thank goodness gets rid of the disturbing INTERVAL which often used to change our fortunes dramatically.
  13. Or, that Howarth was that far ahead of Rusty, who was desperately fighting to keep ahead of our reserve, he did look back on the last lap and realised he could not decelerate that quickly to let Rusty get ahead of him. What the hell, i was there.
  14. Just light rain as forecast Ian. Forecast is for it to clear up before the planned start time.
  15. Weather seems to be OK for tomorrow. Light rain before teatime, but none during the meeting, will give the track a bit of grip so racing will be good between two fancied sides. I go for a Diamonds win by about 10.
  16. Glad it was a good night, especially with both our big boys qualifying. Funny when you say 'get you up to the 3rd/4th turn'. Going to take a little while to remember it is the old 1st/2nd. Was the electric failure something to do with the change over. Presume they didn't have to ring Australia this time.
