Ipswich V Edinburgh 25/7/13

You have the perfect name for posting on this issue. -
Hence the reason why we(Newcastle) combined the meetings and held them on Sunday afternoons from 2003. We copied Newport. who had found it more viable to them.
-
I mentioned that to someone at Brough on Sunday. Crazy days thinking bringing things like this back into the sport, but you do get the best seat in the house watching from the inside if you are allowed to stay with the car A definate non runner with current rules..
-
Probably against the rules as well. There are guidelines as to what can be on the centre greens and the tractors and associated equipment are expected to be off track for safety reasons. At Brough Park we are not allowed vehicles/tractors to be parked on the centre green by the stadium owners.

Agree. Best of luck to agent Worrall.

Very true. Robbo was injured at Edinburgh and only rode last night as we were already down by one with Christian. His hand and wrist had flipped back at Edinburgh, and he then landed on it which very nearly broke both. It was extremely painful last night but he was prepared to give it a go. The usual Robbo will return soon when he heals. Thought it would be tight and, if Robbo hadn't been riding injured, I think we would have won by about 6. In the event, after the heat 11 and heat 14 fiasco's, I was greatful we got the draw. Somerset heatleaders did their bit by winning races, but received poor backing with just the occasional piece of support. Luddi not a happy buddy with his bike setup in the first two races and his camp knew about it. Got better, but still not the rider of the last couple of months at home. Schramm, after some tasty scores and performances, last night reverted to the Schramm of old and overrode especially in vital heats 11 and 14, where I was starting to feel a bit concerned for the health of Davies. The thing that IMO we got wrong last night, was requesting the team asking the track to be changed at 5.45. There was nothing wrong with the way it had been prepared by Jonny and his crew, but to rough it up was not the answer. Perhaps these decisions and requests could be made a bit earlier and follow some logic. Anyway 5 points from the two weekend matches I would have settled for before Friday. It is still championship form. Somerset themselves must have been pleased with their returns with a 3 point haul away from two of their main challengers, three more match points and it could have been 6. As someone else has eluded to, how come there seems to be some advantage to be riding away from home for most of the top teams. Very strange. Nice to meet Pirate Nick again, along with his noisy mates(just kidding), Keith and Kyle. Looks like we could be meeting again come the playoffs, lets hope so.

Cup matches are always a rerun of both legs in the event of a tie. -
Think you are being a bit too judgemental there. Nobody is saying that really. It might be hinted at outwardly, but it is not what's going on in private and behind closed doors. But surely you knew that and were prepared to allow for it happening. Unlike Tennis, eh George.

So the burns to riders reported over the years have just been 'warming'. A & E personnel, as well as riders, might disagree of course. Think spare parts vans, sponsors and Promotions It's your statement.
-
To be fair salty, they are hardly going to be talking of doom and gloom, when looking for sponsors and maintaining the crowd. Not be the first, or the last, guardian of a sport, show, company, enterprise, etc, that is naturally going to talk the product up. That's life, especially in entertainment and sport.
-
Thanks for that. I was totally unaware that the previous silencers and the down pipes were super cool and did not burn you. I think also that you find a lot of folks have been taken for a ride by riders, but we won't mention that eh.

Wheel spoilers - riders safety Tyres - no idea Fuel - to catch cheats Riders panel - So they can keep noise and lose tracks. no thanks Dean Machine cynical ? - tell me he isn't so

Who's talking about Adam. I am referring to the lack luster performance of Wells at Berwick, and yes I was there. I agree with your points about Adam though.
-
Agreed but. Many times they are made mandatory by the FIM so how can you avoid the cost. I used to laugh at the waste of space and cost of the environment mats, and especially the oil drip into the earth reason for having them. However, with the state of a lot of pits, the mats actually give you a cleaner and level area to work on during a meeting, which you will already know.

But what is the criteria for 'not being paid'. I have known riders try to demand all their money on the night, when they must know the money has already been taken off the premises. Is a 'week lying on' the norm, and when do the riders get paid for away meetings. Home teams sometimes do not receive the exchange money for away meetings, so who then is in default of withholding wages. I agree with your proposition in principle, but I can see it being used for the rider's own agenda. Another point is what is wages. If his results earnings are paid, what about late payment of sponsors money, and also flights money like with the DMU, which clubs have to pay a certain amount for named meetings but the rider drives there as he is already on the continent. It might be say £350 but his actual expense is possibly say £30. Sometimes there is an agreement that flights can/will be paid staggered over the rest of the season.

As I said, you are a very confused.volty

British Promoters missed the boat when the first SKY deal was agreed. What was expected to be a windfall that would make the sport, and especially the EL teams viable, instead the EL promoters acceded to the new higher rates demanded by the top riders and as a result never realised any benefit from the new money.

3 mentions of me on a thread that you say 'you stayed on thread' and was not about me. Thank you for that rambling reply confused.volty

So why not stay on that theme, instead of your obsession for me.

Agreed. It was a pathetic and lethargic display from one who should have tried better.
