  1. Nope. A rider will go to a track he is happy to go to, and not to a track he was allocated to, or selected by a promotion. The whole idea is to appease riders to move, and to give everyone a fair chance. There will always be inequality, if you are looking for it.
  2. Splitting hairs one thinks. When this system was first announced it stated the riders would be allocated, which is what I said.
  3. It will always be a consideration otherwise for it all to work. No promoter in the North is going to go for as rider living say in Eastbourne.
  4. We don't do discounts these days, do we.
  5. No they won't, and you know that. It's already been said their location would be taken into consideration when being allocated.
  6. Totally agree with all of that. The mindless few at STMP on a Thursday, bring a certain yob element that is not usually apparent at other tracks in such numbers. The second bend/bar terrace crowd cheering when Diamonds have fallen on the 1st/bend and shouting " hope you break your f*****g leg" is disgusting and should be wiped out of the sport. Fortunately, despite their antics, there are still a lot of nice pleasant Bears fans who are equally disgusted at the other fans behaviour. When I go to STMP, I have a bit of banter with some fans in the temp stands, and we have even been asked to come back and stand with them again next time. That's how it should be, and a good safe enjoyable night had by all.
  7. Very happy with that, especially with the speculation that the likes of Kerr could be away, and doubts whether we could keep a hold of both Swedes. Robbo - Coming back from injury, but will be fine, especially when he gets fit, goes skiing in January and them back on the crosser and his speedway bike. I felt at the back end of last year the team became individuals without a leader, which is a role that Robbo does well at Brough. Ludde - Crackers, but a canny rider, and will be the No 1 at the start, but will be challenged by Anto in no time. Anton - Can't believe we managed to keep him, as I am sure there would have been many options for him, both here and abroad. Good company for Ludde, as long as they don't start dancing together in the bar afterwards. Christian - Coming back from injury again. Look how he coped the last time and was last years Rider of the Year. I don't have probs with his signing, he was bringing in a bit more aggression before injury, and I think he will pick up where he left off. Lewis K - Delighted he is back, as it was amazing to see his progress last year, following the same ascent in form that we had seen in Richie. Will go on to be a top rider. Chris - Not a real fan of his when he signed, but was delighted how he improved and showed what a good gater he is, blocking top riders and giving his partner more chance of the race win. Dedicated team man, and can be our secret weapon on many tracks. Won't assume Lewis's role of last year, but will score consistently if he doesn't fall off trying too hard. Lewis R - Watched his introduction in the NL, and I think he got something like 15 in his first meeting. Ex Crosser, follows the same career path as Kerr and Richie, and it will be interesting to watch his progress, if he takes to Brough quickly. One to watch this year. Overall a balanced team with experience, leadership, promise and the threat of some real decent racing. Will be an interesting team both home and away, with different riders taking on the no 1 role in successive meetings. Could do well in the league. Richie - Wish you well in your pursuit of greater things. Nice to see it, thanks for your time with us, and best wishes in the future. Steve - Thought you would be back, but pleased you turned your form around in the later part of the season. Wish you well, and you would be very welcome back sometime. Andrew - Unlucky to not get a place, but i think his form at the back end of the season might have gone against him. He is certainly no 'one track' pony and I hope he does well wherever he has gone. Be interesting to see what happens to Robert Lambert and to where he goes.
  8. Lasse is not cheap, and not many will pursue an interest in him. Sweetman had a bad time at Brum, another team possibly Leicester, and ended up part season with Glasgow. Obviously has lost what he had, which is very sad to see in one so young.
  9. I am well aware of all that, but your recent flirtation with Stocks, and now your attitude of anti BSPA and Speedway suggests that you have no real love for the sport and have elected to sit in with the knockers. Perhaps you also have scores to make from the past. If so, it does you no favours, given what you did achieve in Speedway previously.
  10. Quite agree, but there will always be the knockers like gustix who seems to delight in anything anti speedway and BSPA. When I get like gustix TWK, you have my permission to shoot me.
  11. I would take it and see what happens.
  12. Ha Ha. When you have ColinMills, Bellers and RR against you, you know you are on the right track.
  13. Not really. If he hasn't signed for any team in the PL for next year, he will ride for Poole and they will have precedent over his second contract. Up to his second team to change the fixtures to stop any clashes.
  14. Can't remember the names of the riders, but at the end of the seasons there was a good case to retain riders who were becoming favourites who were already in the team. It was decided not to engage them, and the form of the riders, one i think was Rene, was good. Hindsight says it was good not to engage them. Does anybody remember who would have had to be dropped. It was around the time we had Kenny I know.
  15. Were'nt good enough, and their form since we signed them proved it was the right decision not to take them on.
  16. Fixed guarantees are few and far between. I have known guests get them, but when they feint injury after two rides, and get booked out of a meeting, you stop offering them. I always paid young reserves a guarantee of 3 points, tyre and fuel, which meant they had covered their costs, but never to a 1 to 5 rider.
  17. I think you will find that some fences, like Newcastle's new fence, have been modified to cope with this problem.
  18. It was you that 'liked' the post not me. Yes i did. With your few posts so far, I have yet to see you approve of anything. Dropping others in with 'stories' about fiddling, disrespecting anything Louis, etc, your not exactly a guy the sport needs back if the ask me. This forum just seems like i vehicle for you to vent your spleen on, and get back on old scores. Sad man.
  19. What ever it is, he puts bums on seats, which is what Marketing folk like you are supposed to do, innit.
  20. Yep, great rider and thoroughly good egg off the track. Thanks for the thought. Done a lot in his life as well.. Ex Diamond of course, Nicki is just the rider type that you, with your marketing hat on, would employ and use to bring the masses back to speedway. Thought you were trying to be speedway's saviour.
  21. Are you for real. Time for you to stop making a fool of yourself. Alex has written to the BBC on behalf of a sport that he is chairman of. If he hadn't you can bet your cotton socks that the usual suspects like you, TWK, ColinMills, etc, would be asking why he has not approached the BBC to register his disgust on behalf of the sport. Pleased Promoters have more credibility than some of the idealess critics on here.
  22. Been announced that BBC's Talksport has voted Tai as being the Talksport Sports Personality of the Year. Thank you very much Colin Murray, Steve Bunce and the Wembley missing penalty taker Michael Gray of Sunderland. Not all bad then.
  23. Always has been, Chris Boardman comes to mind and of course Lance Armstrong, but for other reasons. Steve Redgrave and Matthew Pinsent have been around for years, even before the 10 years Blaze is talking about. Agreed, (away for a lie down now).
