Aye, every morning for him. -
My bets on Matt.
-
No, he would rather just 'like' any tripe that others post on here Bryn. Sad to see an olden going off it, why doesn't he just get out speedway. He obviously does't like it now and has nothing to add to it.
-
Yes, and this is the **** that loves his speedway and thinks he knows how it should be improved, and slags anything and everyone off who is involved with it. Just the sort of 'fan' we could afford to lose. Yet he would expect you to listen to , or read his rants. Consistant mind, he has the same style and obnoxious tendencies on every subjects, try reading him in General Discussions. Second thoughts, don't.

Must admit I clicked on your link hoping to see the alternative adult sites. Oh well.

He can't 'remain' as a 3 as you say, cos he has not formally been given a 3 point average. No doubt there has been word passed back to Gary. and he can appeal with his case for a 3, or go with Brady at the right average & drop someone else, or thirdly he could be dropped and another rider take his place. I remember a club a few years ago continue to appeal a certain riders case and, when they lost, as everyone was telling them, they had to scrap around to get someone that fitted the average, but one who would not have been a first choice for anyone. Similarly Newcastle waited for a final fitness test on Jason KIng till the very last minute, but we managed to extricate ourselves quite nicely. Risky, as the BSPA do not always indicate your 1-7 is acceptable, till quite near the start of the season, so you need to be quite sure with all your assumptions.

With the EL teams, factor in the £90k bung from SKY and higher fan levels in most case, and there's your answer. The EL teams have higher expenses and higher income levels.

Only an idiot, and non supporter, would suggest that if fans had been to asked to help a club survive financially, the club should go to the fold. Firstly, if they are asked they always have the right to say no. Secondly, if it is to buy a brick, or purchase a ticket for a prize or money, again it is for them to consider participating in such an event. There has been some great and novel ways used to raising money this year, and it has galvanised a lot of fans who wanted to help their club. The EL did hold meetings when riders rode for free to buy the first air fences. Unfortunately, the facts of life are that the PL riders only get paid about a quarter of the EL wages so, to help pay for the new air fences for 2014, each team would have needed to run 4 free meetings. Which nobody would have gone to because they really would not have raced to their full ability. So instead inventive people devised events and competitions for people who wanted to participate in. And still 'sensible' people moan.
-
Quite agree that this issue is about the riding in a senior professional League in Denmark. The OZ titles bit is mainly an expectation thing, and usually to give an indication as to what he thinks he is, an OZ or a Brit.

Total bollocks, Mr 'Sensible".

British Speedway Promoters Meeting

You could also say that about 10 years ago as well, and even more importantly, not investing the money in stadia when the big money was being made in say the 80's. There was big money in them days and the current situation is our legacy because of poor investment. EL promoters caved in to the hiked demands of the big lads when the first SKY was signed, and spiralled the costs of all riders. These are the real culprits, not the current ones who in many cases pay to give us Speedway. It is mostly subsidised now, and I am sure you would agree, telling others to invest more, is a damn site easier that actually doing it. The first signs of reality to get rid of foreign expensive riders has started, with the EL protected reserves initiative, but when they do take these steps, the usual suspects decry any actions even when the promoters do do something about the problems. Promoters are well aware things need to be done, but they can only do what they and the sport can afford. -
Very true, never gave it a thought. What happens if it is yellow/blue.
-
Mystery that one. Newport/Somersets is at the Northside training track, Peterboroughs is apparently at Mildenhall, and I can't think that anybody else's has replaced theirs. Only one I can suggest is that they may have bought Peterbroughs new one. If true, it probably means they are not running and the 5 interested parties can't proceed.

British Speedway Promoters Meeting

Bound to be, as a sport can't be turned around in one season, not even by you. The 'grim reaper' target is also a one we will all be approaching, including you and me. -
Yes, I have seen it, and I implied that on another thread, But hey ho. I read the document and passed it back to it's keeper. "not really - its just credit - they'd have to pay it back" Credit loans were offered by Paul Ackroyd, of the Riders Benevolent Fund, to pay for the new fences, and some teams including Redcar have taken advantage of a low interest loan. Are you saying he wouldn't have been hurt with no air fence, or are you aware that comments were made at the time regarding the fixing of the fence.
-
Let's hope so.
-
You and your 'friend' gustix are both wrong. An NL team gets a sum for early training of a rider, and a PL team, would get either a loan fee or a transfer fee, the same as in the football PL.
-
Move on, for your own sake.
-
I agree. In the case of Henning I think he eventually got a 5 which was still a bit high for him. Henning only rode 2 meetings as a reserve, to see how he did and then he came over to the UK. If Brady has done 12 + 2 meetings in Danish leagues, he should get a higher average.
-
I'm pretty sure that Soldier Boy died a few years ago, and I think I read it on here.
-
And that is the most relevant fact why he should NOT be a 3 pointer. Poor Henning Loof was not given any sympathy or favours for riding two Danish reserve meetings as a tester a few years ago, and ended up with a 5 point average I think. And that's what should happen here to Brady.

Good publicity, and a very professional performance from the World Champion. Pleased he is using or being used to such good affect. -

Thanks for your explanation Marcus. Like others have said, you have no need to blame yourself for the failure of the tour not running this year. I know how much you do, and the reasons you do it, these things happen in life and we all have to get on with it. Let's get you back fit to enjoy your life, and hopefully maybe think about a tour again next year. I might even be an interested spectator next year. -
Agree. He had bad habits as you know, but was a decent rider. Even when he went back home he continued to ride pretty decent in State Championships and OZ finals. Always remember him at Newcastle, having been taken out by Rob Grant, He was lying outside the track, then suddenly jumped up over the fence, and laced into Rob before being grounded by Rob's Dad and Robbie Best. You never knew what he was going to do or how many he would score.
-
Thanks goodness for that. For one minute I thought you meant double points.
