  1. And are you offering to underwrite the losses, after a multi Millionaire could not sustain those losses with the EL. Change your name to Trump instead of Crump.
  2. Well, don't make so many mistakes then. It is the focal point, and works when there is good team spirit within the team, and with management.
  3. At Newcastle we have a programme grid blown up to about A2 size in the pits, and the results and scores are written in after every race. It is the centre of attention, as riders and management can talk about each heat and decide tactics.
  4. Someone told me that they weren't actually legal notes, but were honoured by their banks.
  5. Likewise. Several bars at the coast a few years ago, wouldn't touch them as someone was dumping them in Whitley.
  6. Large denomination Scottish notes are taboo in some parts of the North East, as we have regularly had fakes mixed in with our currency. When I get them over the border, I do my utmost to get rid of them at the earliest possibly opportunity before i leave or on my return home.
  7. Yes. You have to sign the annual 3 part rider contract with your asset holding club, before the rider signs for a loan or D/U deal with another team.
  8. Oh Yes. It is arriving in less than 2 weeks, and i would image we will need to erect it shortly afterwards to identify any problems, or the need for any fence adjustments. We are getting there.
  9. Agree with all the comments said by others. I knew Alf only in his later years when he used to turn up, home or abroad, to take the annual group photo of the promoters of the BSPA during their AGM. I think he was an invited guest for past services, and he was so easy to talk to even though we had never met before. Always acknowledged you at every occasion. RIP Alf
  10. Well, it rained and didn't stop till about 11.30am. Good turnout considering the weather, and had more than enough to do most of the posts. Only 4 posts to move next week, and then concreting all 18 in one go. With the rain there was no painting done, as it would not have dried so will push on with that next week. Once again our Ludde flew back in to help, along with Georgie. Thanks to all for coming. Darryl removed the last of the surplus shale off the 3rd and 4th bends, and cleared the grass area behind where the riders stand for the parade. The big blade is planned to go on next week, so things are going well with still a number of cosmetic items to attend to. See ya all next Sunday at 9.30am.
  11. Probably be discussed with all team members in the get together at the Practice day. They usually have a meal together, sometime over the weekend.
  12. Certainly will. Some teams are more astute and thoroughly research other events that might affect the fixtures(World Cup, Toon home games, etc. Others only cover some clashes they know and it is only later they realise that it would be unwise to proceed with that date or with that team. Fortunately, because it eventually affects all teams, there is a great deal of cooperation between clubs to resolve these issues. Berwick V Newcastle on SKY last year was not one of them.
  13. Calibra I think I used to drink that when it was my turn to drive.
  14. You and I knew them answers anyway. Statistically speaking that is.
  15. Yep, only took you post 11 on this one.
  16. He would certainly be a good asset, instead of being a guest. Bring a shovel with you tomorrow Ian
  17. All set for tomorrow. Light rain early hours but clearing early and there might even be a surprise visit of that guest called the SUN. Said to be about 7 degree C all day, but I think you might still need ya vest on. See ya then.
  18. Quite agree with you. Always thought that there should be natural progression through the various managers as long as there were suitable contenders. At the moment with Rosco being the GB manager, why couldn't Phil be his assistant. Phil in turn would be the U21 manager with Neil Vatcher his assistant. Other candidates could be brought in at a level with a view of them being promoted when circumstances dictate it. These later candidates could be taken to big events like the WC as extra assistants to learn the ropes by being given specific roles on the night. It's forward planning, but not as we know it(at the moment).
  19. Agree. If the 3rd/4th bend could be changed to the same as the 1st/2nd bends, that would be perfection, and a bloody good blueprint to the perfect track for new promotions. When I have been on the centre green, the worse feature was the tyre ruts and the water inside the ruts, due to stockcars leaving and parking up during their meetings. A real mess most times.
  20. I heard they will not be finished by the start of the season, but the hope is that the finished steps will be released section by section. Question on Sunday is how are they going to get the sections of steps into the terraced area.
  21. Correct. That is what I was told on Sunday. The expectations are that it will be done in sections. Instead of pours of concrete at Brough for the new steps, I hear that they are being made offsite in sections, and will be laid by crane. That will mean a dry solution, and should shorten the time it takes to replace the steps.
