Some teams are more astute and thoroughly research other events that might affect the fixtures(World Cup, Toon home games,etc. Others only cover some clashes they know and it is only later they realise that it would be unwise to proceed with that date or with that team. Fortunately, because it eventually affects all teams, there is a great deal of cooperation between clubs to resolve these issues. Berwick V Newcastle on SKY last year was not one of them.

Quite agree with you. Always thought that there should be natural progression through the various managers as long as there were suitable contenders. At the moment with Rosco being the GB manager, why couldn't Phil be his assistant. Phil in turn would be the U21 manager with Neil Vatcher his assistant. Other candidates could be brought in at a level with a view of them being promoted when circumstances dictate it. These later candidates could be taken to big events like the WC as extra assistants to learn the ropes by being given specific roles on the night. It's forward planning, but not as we know it(at the moment).

Agree. If the 3rd/4th bend could be changed to the same as the 1st/2nd bends, that would be perfection, and a bloody good blueprint to the perfect track for new promotions. When I have been on the centre green, the worse feature was the tyre ruts and the water inside the ruts, due to stockcars leaving and parking up during their meetings. A real mess most times.

I heard they will not be finished by the start of the season, but the hope is that the finished steps will be released section by section. Question on Sunday is how are they going to get the sections of steps into the terraced area.

Correct. That is what I was told on Sunday. The expectations are that it will be done in sections. Instead of pours of concrete at Brough for the new steps, I hear that they are being made offsite in sections, and will be laid by crane. That will mean a dry solution, and should shorten the time it takes to replace the steps.
