  1. I read he is due a ban from his own federation, because of an assault on an official. Is that true.
  2. Agreed. We got stuffed something like 55- 35 at Peterborough and I think we needed a 5-1 to win at home and we did it. Fantastic meeting, one of the most exciting at Brough. The Stoke away meeting killed the second leg for Stoke, but it did see then return of form of Bodger. Havvy used to have him out practicing and telling him when to slide it into the first corner. Sadly after getting his form back, he tangled with Micky Poole and subsequently lost his life. Very sad. No blame to Mick though. Well, the season is nearly upon us and there is still lots of work to do at the track. In view of this, and the match at SJP at 1.30pm, I am proposing that we start at 9.00am with painting the last of the kick boards, and fence work to finish it off before k/board fitting. Dry upto about 3.00pm so plenty of time to get a decent shift in. Can everyone make every attempt to attend, it is very important. The fence will be delivered soon for a first fitting, and we will then see how all the work we have done has been very worthwhile. Obviously I have only just returned from holiday, and not been to the track yet, but I am told that a good start has been made to the grandstand steps, with all the existing ones removed, a metal frame fitted and the precast steps on site ready to be be fitted. I think they are being fitted in two halves so we should be back to normal very early in the season. See you all on Sunday hopefully.
  3. Tungate's renewal date is reported as just before the start of the season, and will be back in country before that to renew it.
  4. I undersand a statement is to be made on our website about the terracing. I don't want to announce the club's news, it would not be right, but I think it will be good news for you. That is the permanent background that most people find under a Landlord of a stadium. Doggie people, unless they are hard betting people needed outside access to the outside bookies, don't go on the terraces, as they are behind glass and usually having a meal with their drinks. So it really only affects, badly as well, the speedway supporter who can't use the steps, which provide the only covered accommodation in the stadium. If the weather is looking iffy from rain, you can bet some fans will stay at home rather than risk getting a soaking at Brough. And don't think there is any chance of a rent holiday or reduction either.
  5. At times yes, but i can't ever seeing you applaud it when it does happen. You seem to get outraged at everything these days. Chill, life is too short.
  6. I am not really into conspiracy theories. The clue you might look for it is the third item, and the advice that they were given.
  7. I was not talking specifically about the SS, but speedway and the BSPA.
  8. I can agree with that, but I think clubs, riders and promoters have a case to answer if the rest is true. Easliy sorted out on here by posters saying change the revision date to nearer the season start date , and the longer term visas. That is the responsibilty of a rider.
  9. What a sad individual. Quoting untruths, hoping to satisfy his personal grudge I would suggest. I would have thought better of you Ian. At every opportunity, that someone slags off Speedway or the BSPA, you seem to rub your hands with glee. You are not gustix, are you. Obviously The Pedaler has issues, misquoting, and making up things which are totally untrue, to try and embarrass the 'establishment". Why should any answers be given to a man on a mission trying to cause some form of bother. Business deals are between the parties and I see no reason why they need, or should, be made public, to satisfy the whims of such a poster.
  10. Interesting points raised in the interview in the SS with Alex Harkess this week. - After last years probs with Masters and Campton, all clubs were advised to ensure riders renew their visas before going home. We told everyone a year ago , don't let them go home until they've renewed their visa. Unfortunately, some people didn't listen. The situation they find themselves in is self inflicted in every case. - If you are refused a tier-two visa, you can't the apply for a tier-five visa. - Tier-five visas are for temporary situations like one off events or tournaments. - For the last year, we have totally aware of what the legislation is, and what you have got to do. Every club was told what they had to do several times and, unfortunately, we are in this position because they didn't do it. - He said that Doyle, if he was intending to be riding over here for the next two or three years, should have gone for a longer visa, This was all avoidable. - He intends to take up speedway's visa crisis with the sports parliamentary group in the hope of meeting the UKBA to thrash out some more workable rules for riders. - We are going to ask if the UKBA can look at us and give us legislation to suit our sport.
  11. I believe Peter Craven started with the same reputation added to regular 'offs'.
  12. Surely this would have been the prime reason why Garry decided to drop Nick instead of Allen.
  13. Dave Jessup is a near regular on the ProAms and ProCeleb circuit for TV. He was always on the Bobby Robson ones for example. I believe after speedway he was county standard at Golf.
  14. NAAAAH, but I did hear the red one was a bit hot.
  15. I seem to remember that The White Knight was enthusiastic about it's launch, and was going to take out a subscription to it. Perhaps he could advise us of the situation.
  16. I wondered why others had labelled you with that, Colin. KKS is thought to be a kid at Peterborough, with likings for KB , who changes his forum name at the drop of a hat. Currently he is we think under the cover of Hougaard Racing Fans, unless he has changed today. Knows everyone, has boyish ideas, and usually tries to invent things that he says he has heard that is happening in speedway. Harmless, and you get a laugh at him occasionally. Definately a case of mistaken identity.
  17. Any way, what you doing on here. Should you not be breastfeeding or something
  18. Get to the back of the Q. I'm already on the freeloaders list on the gate because of my mate Crumpy.
  19. That's why i said "I hope so" Nick. Surely those phrases are hardly applicable. This is an internal BSPA matter, not a BSPA issue against others. It's been an interesting discussion till those phrases. Yes, it has been refused for Doyle and Somerset in this case, but the BSPA position applies to ALL.
  20. THE END It might be your opinion, but you are wrong. Past riders have ridden and been paid for their efforts, the same as any other employee. As others have said, former sportsmen in other sports don't get in free, and even more annoying, then stand in the PITS with mates who have also not paid. When you are a current licenced rider attending a meeting, you are entitled to free entrance. That is to the stadium, like any other paying fan. Anybody in the PITS should only be those in an official position, or a rider or mechanic participating in that meeting. Nothing p****s off others more than looking into the pits full of freeloaders who haven't paid.
  21. Over the top responce. The advance publicity is not Appalling, it is absent and you already know why. See this thread. As you said yesterday 12 more weeks to go, and you don't get adverts for football or any sport with that lead time.
