Belle Vues National Speedway Stadium

Where, all in your own little mind. Do try to keep up before you misfire again. My comment was to introduce the possibility of a possible 'rubbish stirrer' as opposed to the two possibilities suggested by SCB. No mention made or meant to DAC, just more missinterpretation from you and SCB. You must be desperate trying to get another fight again. Sad. -

Where did I say that the 'rubbish stirrer' comment referred to DAC. -
Photo of the track is on Facebook, and we will have to see regarding the steps. Most of it looks like it could be released for the season start, but the contractors might be only allowed to release all the steps in one go. I think it will be a contractual thing.

Yes, but it seems pretty obvious that the BV promotion is very dependant on the actions and procedures or others. Nothing to report so they say nowt, get criticised. Reply to responses and the clever lads criticise for replying. Can't win. -

So what's wrong with responding to enquiries. If they don't, you would still be on their case. -
Up for debate really. The exit corners have been skimmed to widen the exits, which would only be very marginal. SCB will be with us on Sunday so they might give a ruling. Mind you, I would rather see better racing than a track record. Sometimes I don't even record heat times.

Well, it was a canny day today. Good turnup, weather decent but cold, practically all outstanding jobs done with just mesh next Sunday, and first fix and instruction for the air fence from Colin Meredith and someone from the SCB to authorise the installation. The track had all the new shale put on, both last Sunday and Monday, and today with more grading and packing by Jonny and Darryl, with tyres and a road roller it is looking PERFECT. The road roller was used to squash the outstanding inside grass edge, and that is now fully chamfered, and the concrete path for the intro parade will be done during the week. With the widening of the track, and the removal of a couple of feet off the grass inside, the track is looking much wider and the introduction of the air fence will not have much affect on the racing. The condition of the track though will. Visiting riders Christian, and our worker Ludde, seemed suitably impressed today. Still having a tidy up day next Sunday, so, whilst the air fence is being fitted, it would be nice if those who have not turned up could put a shift in to finish it off. It is for your benefit as well as the team riders. NB Forgot to mention the terrific progress that has been made to replacing the grandstand steps. Since last week, they have double the number of completed steps, and I don't think it will be too long before they are all completed. Good news.

Let's hope that Poole don't get into a similar situation, and let some fans have a dig at you. -
Newcastle Speedway Supporters Club, in conjunction with the Newcastle Speedway Promotion, have organised a Meet the Riders/Race Night at the PTE Club, Millers Road, Byker on Monday 17th March. All the riders have been invited to attend, following on after the Press Day earlier in the afternoon at Brough Park. The evening starts at 7.30pm and the first race is at 8.00pm. Admission is FREE and yes, there will be a raffle. This will be the first opportunity that everyone has been able to get together after the winter, and also the first chance to meet all of the new team for the 2014 season. Should be a good night.

NO.

Before anybody sets up a hanging squad, I am informed they have been told about it. OK.

I think he had the chance last year with our injuries situation, but i think he needs to decide if he wants to be a speedway rider. IMO.

Nearly there now with the track work. Mesh not arrived, and we will have to do the small section next week. Kickboards third bend, and all the home straight, and that's it all finished. A bit of tidying the fence up, and the edge of the centre green, and I think we will be just about there. The track is in mint condition and never been so flat, don't know why anybody was worried in the last couple of weeks. Hope to see a good few there, for a 9.30 start, now we have got this far. Thanks for everyone's effort with the work, as without you, we could have been in big trouble. NB We are still wanting more track workers to help with the putting down and lifting of the dog track sheets. In addition we need to create a new team to put up, maintain and remove the new air fence. Anybody interested, please get in touch with me, and i'll advise you of the admission offer for doing the work.

Quite correct. Newcastle have 2 +1 ambulances and 3 Doctors most speedway nights.
-
Might be. I find it sad and annoying that in towns and cities, sports like speedway are banned due to new neighbours on new estates like the ones surrounding Edinburgh Speedway. It's on peoples doorsteps, and can be termed a local facility. Instead protestors get tracks closed down, and new speedways have to be built in the countryside, and followers then have to have a means of travel to the new venue. Like this case and IOW, someone down a valley or some distance away can hear some noise and then try to get the out of town venue closed down. Why doesn't football grounds, in or near towns, get closed down for an even greater nuisance of traffic, noise, smell, and of course 'excitement'.

Rod will be gutted.

It is also alongside a busy US airbase with bloody big and noisy bombers. FFS.
-
Totally agree. Now, even minority minorities have to power to close an established sport that they object too. Noone has mention the bloody immense wall of sound that the US bombers make taking off in the same area. Eventually, though these NIMBYS, all outdoor sport and entertainment will be banned, and life will degenerate to work then home, everyday, like groundhog day. In the last Governments time, was there not a bill passed that sport facilities/stadia had to be considered almost immune from noise complaints and future redevelopment. It's not that long ago when folks like me were applauding this stopping of losing sports facilities.

Andrew has a way too high average to be included in the draft riders. He is in OZ taking a year out and trying to get work over there.
-
He gets worse.

I agree that the £1m price quoted is way too low. In the late 90's Alan Roberts(principal Bookie at BP) paid £1.7m for Brough Park and Coventry is bigger, on more expensive land, has a better stadium, and the price could be further inflated with the appropriate Planning Permission.

Smaller turnout today, but thanks to those who put a good shift in from 9 till 3. Fence looking better, and only the home straight and an odd kick board on the back straight to put on next Sunday. A panel of fencing to replace, gates to get another coat, and some concrete bases to trim and thats our work done. The track is looking real smart again, with the pools taken off and a deal of cutting afterwards. Tomorrow probably will see the new shale put on and levelled, and the track will be nearly there. That of course will depend on what weather turns up, as the forecast is not good. The standing area at the gates for the parade needs cementing, as does the chamfering of all of the centre green. Next Sundays track prep session starts as usual at 9.30am. Decent progress on the grandstand steps, with the row in front of the announcers box looking finished, and it would look likely that the adjacent block could be also be finished for our first meeting on the 23rd against Worky. Slow progress, but they look like they are getting there, hopefully releasing it section by section. With the extra work due to the air fence, and the dog track sheeting, we urgently need some new people to help with the preparation on raceday. Give it some consideration and contact either Alan or Darryl, and they will give you more details of the admission package. If you want to, get in touch with me instead.
