  1. No congratulations from the Witcher, I see.
  2. Weather report for those who are travelling. Sun is out and the forecast is for a tropical 16 degrees for the rest go the afternoon, before cutting in to 12/13 degrees. Bit overcast at 7.00pm, but nothing else for the rest of the day. Any change and I post it on here.
  3. As others have said, I think the deficit from Fridays meeting is going to be just too much for us to overcome, although I do think that we will get a decent win. Friday was a bad day at the office for too many Diamonds, and I think there will be a smart reversal of both teams performances tonight. A good competitive meeting with no injuries will do, as we say goodbye to a trophy that we have recently had a good relationship with. I think we have better performers around our track, but it will be interesting to see how the Danish lad performs. Big performance on Friday with paid 15, but I don't expect to see that sort of score from him tonight. Let's hope the celebration of the Rebels promotion is a bit more respectable in their moment of glory. Should be a good meeting. Reminder that we need every sheeter to stay behind and pick the sheets up after the meeting. Thanks.
  4. It could hinge on the form of the two Lewis's. if Kerr rides to his ability, and Rose gets amongst the points, I think we could do very well. Anyway, I know we will be cheered on by Dietbowers, so it will be nice to hear and see one of our own cheering us on. I am off to see Foreigner and Europe at the City Hall, but I will still be having a squint at the Updates during the night.
  5. Well Sunday should see the first silverware of the PL decided with the second leg of the Premiership Trophy. Will Rebels bring a big lead from tonights meeting at Somerset, or will it be all to play for with a reasonable deficit to overcome. Should be a good meeting between two competitive teams, if previous meetings are an indicator. Looking forward to it. Can sheeter's note that sheeting is planned for 3.00pm, and hoping that there is a reasonable number left at the end of the meeting to pick them back up. It really is important, as the more the merrier and, the easier the job is for everyone. Hope to see you all there.
  6. Think we will do pretty well. Remember it is on aggregate so a small defeat is acceptable. GoGo Diamonds.
  7. Quite agree with your version here. In addition to what you say, I understand Rick and Julie either had a new business, or expanded one of their existing businesses, and this was said to be the main reason why they sadly walked away from promoting. I still feel they still have a great interest in the sport, and the sport should be very grateful for their contribution, but perhaps their 'watching brief' at the moment may see them return, and take a more involved role in future. Here's hoping, and good luck to them in their other businesses.
  8. More likely to be Colin was there after fitting the fence and training others how to. Every new fence I have heard about, Colin, and Tony Briggs at Worky, have been there to instal their product.
  9. If he's in the draft, no probs. If he's a guest, you don't know the circumstances and is hardly worth worrying about. As I say "a fuss about nowt', especially after wizzer's post. There are bigger issues in life and speedway than this. Move on.
  10. Been to the track and there is little to no fog there. Track quite heavy, after standing water from the weeks rain, but Jonny and Co doing a fine job to get it raceable.
  11. Ha Ha. it looks like you were still reading the instructions, Ian.
  12. Quite agree. Rene was the fastest overtaker at Brough ever. Missing the gate often, he would pass around the outside just about every meeting. Great crowd pleaser till that night.
  13. Yes, but then fans would say it was not value for money.
  14. Noticed in the Speedway Star that they are saying a 3.30pm start for this tie. Please note that it is the usual start time of 6.30pm, and a miss print in the SS. Be interesting to see Redcar back at Brough, after they were forced to change the team because of Kossa in OZ, and replaced by ex Diamond Richard Hall. Most of their team has ridden Brough well in some meetings, so if they click all together they might make it hard for us to get a decent lead before the second leg at Redcar on Thu 10th April. Weather is decent and warmer so we might be a bit warmer than recent outings.
  15. Message to all those helpers who put the sheets down at Brough Park. On Sunday the sheeting is starting at 3.00pm. Weather good so see you there.
