  1. Thing is that even though Ludde can have iffy meetings, he was still our top points scorer so he must have some cracking meetings that some people forget.
  2. Don't forget, if you want to join us just turn up, you will be very welcome to our 'watchin'. Full bar and nibbles.
  3. i find that Bears fans have a difficult task to reason with anyone.
  4. What's the distance riders are from Berwick got to do with 2 days of heavy rain on Thursday and Friday.
  5. Poor performance from all 7 Diamonds in the first 7 heats, when they could not get out of the blocks. Every heat, bar when Kerr jumped the start, it was two banks of two with both Diamonds at the back by about 5 metres. At Berwick you can't pass at the best of times, and it was very processional so when you don't gate, you get beat. How, or why, it changed I don't know, but Christian, after two bad gates, shot out in heat 8 and hung on for the win. That seemed like the corner had turned until heat 13, when Doolan and Vissing got the better of Ludde on the first band and second bend and that was it. Plenty of talk of changes, but it seemed like it was everybody but Robbo, who is back to his imperial best especially on the TR in heat 12 and heat 15 when he swept round decent opponents, who had a bit of a natter and a bit of elbows after the race. Not nice to see, and the first two pairings of the Bandits look as if both need changing. I don't think the Diamonds racing was at fault, but their pre heat 8 gating really was juvenile standard. Not good enough. Berwick were solid all night with some very good riding, but we weren't in some of those races unfortunately. If the team gates in future meetings, I don't think there is that much of a problem and things will sorts themselves but if they repeat last night's gating we will be in a little bother. Pity about the Newcastle calloff due to a waterlogged track, but I honestly think we would have done to them what they did to us last night. Perhaps having the break before Tuesday will give them all time to reflect on their individual fortunes from last night.
  6. I thought we had only been on SKY twice. Once, when at home Josh G of Glasgow took Mark out and we just lost, and the second, when we won at Berwick despite all the odds being against us.
  7. Wow. A foreign rider complaining that he can't now get easy money for beating young kids. System is now going to collapse because of it. Slightly biased, and certainly not looking at it as being "in the best interest of British Speedway". Does he complain about the same system that works quite well in Sweden and Poland.
  8. For those Diamonds fans who either can't make it down to 'Boro, or haven't access to SKY, why not join us at the Wheatsheaf, at Palmersville(near ASDA, Benton). The Newcastle Speedway Supporters club are hosting a watchin from say 7.00pm, and everyone is most welcome to come and join us.
  9. Shades of Max Clifford here. After the Ben Powell/Kenni Larsen incident a few years ago, I and many others, praised Rob and Scunny for the prompt and appropriate action again Ben Powell, who was subsequently banned and fined from British Speedway. I am not surprised the both Rob and Dave P are staying out of this, as I think they are both very fair and honest guys in my opinion, and will take possibly be dealing with this in private in their own way. Enter Rob (Lucifer Sam)
  10. First saw this with our Danes at Newcastle. The likes of Bjarne, KB, etc, all had largeish handsets which was a phone, but with a mini computer on the reverse side. They recorded all the setup details from every meeting, their scores and the conditions, and consulted the info before every meeting. The detail they had on everything was amazing. Grachan You are right in what you say about Ivan. In one of his books he tells you that he knew the temperament of every referee in domestic and overseas meetings, down to the average time they would take to release the tapes. In his notebook he recorded a 'P' as a code against a refs name to indicate a trait of the ref. It was all mind games with Ivan and the refs, and I know who won most battles.
  11. That's NOT the subject of the discussion. It's the wilful and reckless actions of a speedway rider, showing no respect, and whose actions were risking several riders potential harm. Get it.
  12. Can I suggest that the Scunny apologists on here get in touch with Bob Tasker of GRT Media at your track, put some money in his hands and purchase a copy of his DVD, which shows quite conclusively what really happened on Sunday night. Hope someone is sending it to the SCB.
  13. It seems ironic that, when accused of dangerous and wilful disrespect for parking a bike on one of the racing lines, and elbowing opponents right from the start of a race, that it has conveniently changed now to the problems of it being a technical track. Nice conveniently "let's change the subject" to get off the issues in question, and in doing so give the opportunity for some Redcar fans to have a go at 'Rough' Park(sic). Anybody remember last year at Redcar with the 1 1/4 hour wait one week, followed by the 1 hour wait for the meeting starts, while they relayed the whole track. Some irony that. Not sufficient to jam the wheel, and stop the bike being pushed with ease. FACT. The mechanic proved that.
  14. Some are even trying to count seconds to try to get Thomas off the charge. Got to laugh at conspiracy theories.
  15. But I do think you have major issues of denial. Firstly Thomas's bike slowed to a halt, he got off it and proceeded to undress and gesticulate. As the bike was still capable of freewheeling why would home fans need to also go on the track and try to move or mend an opponents OK bike. Very strange. What they could have done of course was to do what his mechanic did, and that was pull the clutch lever in and run with the bike back to the pits, Simples. As to 'super sub', are you on something, suggesting he only declared all 4 back as to not raise suspicions. Man, you need help. I can , however, share a concern with your last point, as that is what was the major concern of those present last night. Obviously those who stayed at home in Scunny would disagree.
  16. Doesn't do you any favours that montie, even with a smiley after it. The incident you should be commenting on is the dangerous actions of one of your guys.
  17. They don't prevent it, as well you know. Like a lot of small tracks, you need the skill to turn a bike and then you get good fair racing. Newcastle has produced too many top riders to deserve what you are implying. The difference in those cases is in the words 'block off every run around the boards from gates 3 and 4'. Auty was trying to ride into people and being unsafe. Several riders had a go at him, did riders have a go at Robbo. Probably the difference is that Robbo is a safe, tenacious rider who is fair to other riders, A riders rider. On the other hand Auty..... How come if they ride the same style, that Robbo is not held in the same way as Auty. Still Nicki's biggest fan and a lover of his determined style. People go to watch him and pay to see him. A bit like Robbo.
