  1. Quite agree. Was that the one about the guns.
  2. Visitors were praising the track, you could pass on it, unlike another neighbour track BEC.
  3. If you and DEAN, had watched tonights EL 's Swindon meeting, you would have both seen the plumes of shale that were flying off the back wheels, but parallel to the track, having been deflected by the DIRT DEFLECTORS. Watch the replay tomorrow and see.
  4. The referee has the power to warn and censure the announcer if he does.
  5. On the other hand, a hard slick track and banking, gets the water running off the shale, and not destroying the actual surface. Leave it loose, and the water is trapped and absorbed.
  6. Great meeting and result last night. All the comments I was going to make, as usual have already been said by NJC71. Especially the one which said that if Kerr had been riding then as he is now, there would not have been a change in the team IMO. Never thought that this meeting was going to be on, especially in view of the strong team like Ipswich which has picked up some form of late. I cancelled our training session in the afternoon, because of a lack of medical cover, but I also though we would not get on the track, with Jonny and his team working on getting all the laying water off it. I had popped in Saturday afternoon to see how bad it was, it was, and then we had plenty of rain after that. Forecast for Sunday was totally wrong, a warm dry day, and frantic work on the water and the track, managed to get a so so track with a lot of slop on it. At 5.00pm I thought there was no chance of it going ahead, but with lots of grading and new dry shale being pressed in, it suddenly looked smooth and raceable. It also had to be watered just to get it right. As others have said, it was a good track, but not many people saw it at 5.00pm. Great to see such a successful recovery, when things just seemed to be going the Witches way. Tapes, falls, puncture, and ending with Danny K into the pitsgate air fence with a totalled bike. which we though might come over the gate, either him or the bike. I think his aggression in heat 13, and after the first run of heat 15, hyped him up to such an extent that there was nobody going to beat him. A true number 1 performance which of course the team was changed to get one. It's a big if, but, if the top 4 are scoring or improving on last night, Lewis R comes back OK, and Schrammy and reserve get a few points, we could still have a decent side who can produce good racing. When Danny's average goes down, it would be nice to think we might have some spare to strengthen the bottom end, but IMO we could be over the limit and not be in a position to capitalise on it. Let's right off next Sunday, but then push on from there with a full team for once. We have ridden a lot of away meetings, so after Sunday we need to get some big wins in for the rest of the season to get into the Play Offs. One bit of bad news, We lost our first panel of air fence last night, but it's now been replaced, and it's also mendable.
  7. Declare his replacement as an 'injury replacement' and your original declaration is still valid, just suspended.
  8. To use the official term, you can't use "combined averages" when making team changes. Straight one for one, or redeclare upto 42.50.
  9. No, you can get someone in either 3.05 or lower to replace Chris.
  10. I heard that in his first season his form tailed off about August when his girlfriend went home and he got terribly homesick. Perhaps he gets homesick from time to time which is a distraction to him.
  11. You should give more understanding to a management situation when criticising an employee. What would feel like, in employment, if your gaffer bragged to customers that he had just kicked your erse for not trying.
  12. No. Straight replacement, or lesser average, when over the points limit.
  13. How naive are you. If Chris is to say something it should be direct to Rohan. But then again, if he published a statement he would probably be criticised for making it public.
  14. Running an El team, a NL team and stox meetings mean they have a fulltime set of people, and all the top equipment, to constantly change and prepare the track on a weekly basis. Other teams have less experience, less access and also hire in track curators for their single meeting per week. KL have a top curator in Buster.
  15. Must admit. when he first came to this country, I saw him in a second half at Redcar and he was very impressive. He went on to other tracks like Sheffield, but was only decent on a flat out track where technical ability was less important.
  16. Not in this country. Poor equipment. Can only ride big tracks and useless on small tracks. Needs accommodation. Needs transport.
  17. Live to fight another day, as they say. The rain seems to be helping our cause HD.
  18. Not a great choice actually. Never though I would be wishing for Schrammy so much to get better. And of course Lewis R. I think we will be decent again when they both return.
  19. I agree. What part of "programmed ride" do some not understand.
  20. You have to be at Edinburgh 2 hours before the start tomorrow, and don't forget your Kevlars.
