  1. Details of this meeting have now been published in this weeks Speedway Star. To celebrate the 85th anniversary of Speedway at Brough Park, we have a PL meeting against Peterborough, followed by a series of races with Danny King, Rene Bach, Robbo and Richie Worrall competing against each other. At the end of the races, the rider with the most points will be crowned King of Diamonds. In between the races there will be other races with veterans on vintage bikes. And it is all for only £8.50 admission for adults and concessions, while accompanied children(upto and including age 16 )go free. BTW there will be a FREE Face Painter available before the meeting, provided by the Supporters Club.
  2. That was a couple of weeks ago. Rob jnr has stated on FaceBook that Rob snr has just been released from hospital.
  3. Don't think he is actually. Posters are bemoan playing all these meetings approaching the winter, but it was the summer rain that caused the problem in the first case. If the meetings were reduced or programmed earlier, they would still have been rained off despite people calling it SUMMER.
  4. No. He's the track curator at Leicester but he is the one that designed and built Somerset.
  5. That was the point I was going to make to Ghostwalker. So he didn't "get away with it", and of course it was not a speedway related incident, which I think Ghostwalker would know was what I meant.
  6. When was the last time that Darcy failed an alcohol test.
  7. I think Robbo bought Havvy's offie when he first gave up riding.
  8. In speedway they are called "offies".
  9. Just remind me again what Cameron has to do with this thread, except for your ignorance and obsession.
  10. Well well, Davey Watt has managed to call a meeting off. Never changes from how he was at Newcastle, with that attitude even before a meeting.
  11. You will never know, but you have already made your mind up.
  12. The more 'European' this and that events, just means greater pressure on missing riders and guest situations in this country. Remember these jumped up events are proposed for a reason. Country's like the UK, and the BSPA, are supposed to just roll over and allow these events, using a country's assets and causing disruption, whilst taking all the profit from the event. In a case of owning your own company, I doubt whether many on here would fall in line with it either, unless there was a financial reason for being involved in it.
  13. Not the cleverest of comments. You upset many people Ian with your continued rant about a certain rider. Give it a rest.
  14. He had to be there, was wanted to be there for guidance to the new promotion, and would only have the best of wishes and intentions on anything that had his name on it. Only on the BSF could it be thought anything else.
  15. Kenni, Rene, Robbo, Bentley, Pepe, Ludde, Anton ?, Jesper, Juirut, Lyons.
  16. Yes, I would assume they would. I was thinking more longer term than the likes of IOW, who owns the original company and what rights they had acquired and owned. It could have been passed on or bought out, but I don't know of any procedure or any interest to monitor every company that once ran speedway.
  17. I am just wondering, how the BSPA could/would know if a defunct promotion was still a company, and had the rights to use the name. In particular, if the remains of the defunct promotion had sold out to an unknown person. Never mind. As long as the new promotion is allowed to use the Knights, as traditional team names mean a lot to all fans,e.g, Reading Racers/BSI. I will be.
  18. Steve Ribbons ?? The reason I asked is, is the the current team just using a name and being run by a group enthusiasts running a team with no assets or track. Is there someone from the last promotion, who owns the title or has the business promotion has since folded, therefore it is fair game for everyone to use "Knights" as it doesn't belong to anyone. If no-one owns it, they would be free to use it as the current nomads would not have title ownership on the name they were using. I said "why" because why should the BSPA need to know if a private company(the last promotion) is still a company and still running, if they are no longer involved at all in speedway. Surely the BSPA can't, or don't need to know, the commercial status of every track promotion that is dormant and not involved in current speedway.
  19. Roy Clarke. He's Newcastle's centre green presenter. We sent him down to Redcar to help them speak English.
