Has Machin Changed His Mind?
Tsunami replied to 4thbender's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
He had to be there, was wanted to be there for guidance to the new promotion, and would only have the best of wishes and intentions on anything that had his name on it. Only on the BSF could it be thought anything else. -

Apparently he didn't get on. -
Yes, I would assume they would. I was thinking more longer term than the likes of IOW, who owns the original company and what rights they had acquired and owned. It could have been passed on or bought out, but I don't know of any procedure or any interest to monitor every company that once ran speedway.
-
I am just wondering, how the BSPA could/would know if a defunct promotion was still a company, and had the rights to use the name. In particular, if the remains of the defunct promotion had sold out to an unknown person. Never mind. As long as the new promotion is allowed to use the Knights, as traditional team names mean a lot to all fans,e.g, Reading Racers/BSI. I will be.

Steve Ribbons ?? The reason I asked is, is the the current team just using a name and being run by a group enthusiasts running a team with no assets or track. Is there someone from the last promotion, who owns the title or has the business promotion has since folded, therefore it is fair game for everyone to use "Knights" as it doesn't belong to anyone. If no-one owns it, they would be free to use it as the current nomads would not have title ownership on the name they were using. I said "why" because why should the BSPA need to know if a private company(the last promotion) is still a company and still running, if they are no longer involved at all in speedway. Surely the BSPA can't, or don't need to know, the commercial status of every track promotion that is dormant and not involved in current speedway.

The Future Of The Elite League
Tsunami replied to SarahLapworth's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
You know there is a gap between those coming through and the standard to hold down a team place at the moment. -
The Future Of The Elite League
Tsunami replied to SarahLapworth's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I fully understand your post and I repeat what I said. There are not enough BRIT riders to occupy all the NL places, and also have a similar qualification process for both the PL and the EL. Some are already riding in both the EL and the PL and EL, and as they move out of protected slots there needs to be other young riders coming through. There is not enough coming through to go gung-ho in every league. -

Cos there aren't enough British riders around. Does no-one read other people's posts. -
As you say, an easy one with not too much spirited resistance. Can see what concerns Tiger fans have for their new number 1. Impressive in one race, but anonymous in the others. My one time favourite visitor Wolbert, he of the false average, was up for it after his first ride, it's just a pity that a talent like him can't be on song all of the time. The loss of Rose was going to be a problem, but Mills came to the rescue and needed too when he also had to cover for Simon when his shoulder dislocated, but was put back in shortly afterwards. Hope Mills collection helped him with his engine blow. Great to see Ludde on the gas, making great gates and fast as anything. His riding with Danny was a joy to watch, with full on match races with both riders very comfortable with each other. Another max for Kerr and the usually from Robbo. It could have been tight with a top team, but Mills early rides got the early points, and the meeting as a contest was soon over. Track back to it's best last night, with the utility vehicle and it's new diff fitted, so no complaints from anyone. No meeting next week, but our next meeting on Sunday 7th Sept against Peterborough for a splendid £8.50 in celebration of speedway at Brough for 85 years. Looking like the last Play Off place is going to be between us and Redcar, but the loss of Rose with knee ligament injuries is a blow to our future chances. Goes for MRI scans today, so the full extent of his injuries, and the consequences, will soon be known. He looked uncomfortable in the pits last night on his crutches. Sums up our season unfortunately.

OK then. North, South, and few in the middle.

Return tie of our near miss on Sunday at Glasgow. Teams will probably be the same as at Glasgow with DEEK in at 7, but there will need to be decisions made for Neilsen and Rose for the Diamonds. From reports it seems likely to be RR for Rose, with him having a knee injury. Don't know anything about Simon, but if Mills bikes were so bad yesterday, we are going to need Simon to be on form and beat DEEK again at our place. I gather it is not a Bank Holiday in Scotland, so I suppose we won't be seeing the usual posse of Tiger fans including Paulco. For those that do travel, the weather is fine with no rain and a top temp of 16 degrees. In view of Saturday's result I would be very concerned, but can't see Deek getting a Bunyan score tomorrow. Will be close, but I would like to think we will get three points. Too many variable scores from Tigers Wolbert, Pijper, Harrison, the Swede, and Lykke, to be certain of any result really. NB Forgot to mention. It's incredible that with the last couple of results, Glasgow are in with a shout, along with us and Worky, for the remaining 6th position for inclusion in the Play Offs.

Well said. It's nice to know that practically every speedway fan is concerned about a riders health and safety, unlike the selfish gits like GP who is only concerned about himself.

Patryk Dudek Tests Positive For Banned Substance
Tsunami replied to lastword's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
The more I hear about both Dudek and Ward the more I think they both should be fined say £3k, and banned for 1 year, but suspended for 18 months. A monthly testing programme to be agreed with both. -

Surely this was for 'flights' rather that flights to one meeting. I think it is for several meetings. -
If remember right, of all the Danes that we brought across, only Bjarne exceeded his assessed average.

Chris Mills was ill on Saturday, and couldn't ride for us, but rode for us on Sunday, so Steady might get to ride if he is fit.
