  1. That's not bad that but don't know anything about Jakobsen. Any info on him ?
  2. And fans on here moaned that the likes of Auty and Birks should have been Fast Track riders last year, but now moan about them now being in the squad. One good thing about this year with their inclusion with the strength of Newman, Garrity, Blackbird, etc, is they need less riders for the Fast Track 2 set. This will mean more riders to stay in the NL, and more riders available to take Guest bookings in the PL. With riders in three leagues, and 18 riders of lesser strength in the FTR, these riders were almost never available to take guest bookings, especially at short notice. They were too tired, working on bikes, no engines, already riding, etc. and teams, including us, had to travel to meetings having only just acquired the services a couple of hours previously a rider from their second half. EL just went back up one notch.
  3. There is a set number of hindsight meeting to get an average. if a rider has one he uses that. See last Green Sheet averages under Premier League on the BSPA website.
  4. The BSPA statement published on Sunday night, is on the BSPA site. In addition George said - - Danny is probably out of consideration, as he is talking to Poland teams who ride on Sundays. - All other riders are in the frame. - Possibility of a Test match with the Aussies at Brough. - Some good news for Glasgow fans, but I will leave it to them to announce it. - No extra meetings added, home and away 24 fixtures if Peterborough do run. - Possibility of a combined Newcastle, Redcar, Workington NL team, with a possibility of a new NL team with Glasgow/Edinburgh joining together. - Eastbourne, with possibly Cradley and Birmingham in the NL, could put pressure on the number of suitable riders available for NL teams. - Diamonds have first round of KO Cup against Scunny with winners against Glasgow. - First fixtures :- - 28 Mar Berwick A TTT - 29 Mar Berwick H TTT - 4 Apr Worky A ITT - 5 Apr Worky H ITT Riders under two minutes at the gate will be excluded if they get off their bike. False starts will start the 2 minute clock in all cases, and up to the ref if he allows the pits gate to be opened. All to speed up the meeting. Apparently a very harmonious AGM this year.
  5. Talking about the oldest, would that not be Roy Dickson about 10 years ago riding for Somerset, when they were in the CL. He was about 62 in his first ever team.
  6. Who says they are not doing something behind the scenes. Asked not to change things and still get responses like yours. Change everything and it's 'they don't know what they are doing'. Just a shame they haven't got the wisdom that some fans on this forum have.
  7. It may have missed your attention Riggers, but it is Peterborough cash that Ged and Trevor need. Some of you lot on here already think you have the necessary promoting skills with your constant advice in that direction, rather than that commodity that they really need at this moment, some money. Wonder no more BigCat and Hans. After opening Newcastle up I'm 1997, signing up a few GP standard Danes, Winning the PL and joint winners the year after, and launching and running the Gems team, one felt it was time to get on with other personal interests in my life. There are other things in my life, like my personal sports and travel, but to continue would have Riggers claiming more self praise, and one would not want to make his day. Get giving.
  8. Ha Ha, but a successful one. How about you or Crumpie ? Thought not.
  9. Don't know about Swales, but does anybody think Ged joined the Panthers mid season without putting in something to help finances. Why would he join, and Mick accept him, without a lump being paid. It is my knowledge that he did. Appealing for more cash to keep a club afloat is to everyone, but obviously( to non Panther fans of course) it doesn't mean everyone will or can donate anything. The alternative of course is not to ask and just close it down. Then the promotion gets more stick for not being in for the long run. FFS. Simple situation, If you want speedway(at PL level) then some fans that can, need to help out with a donation, sponsorship or some other deal. Folks on here bemoaning the efforts because they really want EL are dreamers in another world. If no PL this year, you can forget EL for ever. IMO.
  10. True, but that is not the situation in this case. She only went to the Police in the first case about her lost handbag. After discussions as to what happened, it was the Police who told her she had been raped. No frame up in this case.
  11. Time for the Panther fans to demonstrate they want speedway. If they don't, they aint got speedway, and they can blame who they want, except themselves of course.
  12. Good day at the track today. Good response for helpers and managed to wash 12 air fence panels, a couple of other repairs, and sorted and scraped the good kickboards. Lovely day to do it, and we stopped just before the cold set in. We will be back next week washing panels with a possibility of finishing them using two karchers. Why not join us and spread the load. Many thanks to all the helpers, Ta from me.
  13. Quite agree. Not everyone can track a team that is going to be competitive, but surely it has to be a gimmy that with a weak team in opposition, the other team is picking up the tabs for the increase in points gained. Only a fool, or the publicity officer of a weak team, would argue otherwise. Oh, hang on...
  14. OK, we'll get a guest instead. I was away from Speedway during the Ross era, but despite that I thought this article was one of the best reads in the SS for a long time. Decent article about Guests, but some will have read it, forgot it and be bleating on here about why we have them within a fortnight.
  15. Oh Dear. I see you don't do humour.
  16. scribbler never said it was only women that can be raped. Are you trying to just obtuse and deliberately missing the point. TTM listed instances of cases where rape could occur, and not be known by the victim. Your version and attitude in reply seems to be that rape is not rape then. For your sake I hope you don't get raped, you might want to think on that.
  17. With his upturn in scoring and trouble free year in 2014, I reckon he is keener than the start of the year, and I would love Robbo to be back for us in 2015. DEEK always seemed to be a key to teams that win things, well I look at Robbo as being our talisman, even though he is not usually our higher averaged rider. XXXX Incidently. Anybody got a spare couple of hours on Sunday, could pop along to Brough and help us all finish off the washing of the rest of the air fence panels. All panels and kick boards are off the track, and about half of the fence panels are already washed and put away. I would think that the next two Sundays will see us get them all finished with a bit of extra help. We have a Karcher, so it's a case of blasting them, hanging them out and then putting them away. XXXX Don't forget about the DVD night and the interview with George about AGM news. Starts at 7.30pm at the PTE on Monday 17th Nov. Admission £2 per adult, with everyone U16 FREE admission. GRTMedia will be showing 2014 races on the screen, and amongst others, will be selling the 2014 Highlights DVD, just in time for Xmas.
  18. Looks like you have been duped by orion. The Third Man put the case on this forum yesterday, and is the reason why I have no sympathy for Evans, and support both the stances taken by Ennis and Charlie. And that's your problem. So according to you no offence was therefore committed. What about rape dating using drugs. Is that OK and above the law. NO.
  19. No one is asking anybody to put £40k into it. Donations are being asked for in an attempt to raise £40k. Not quite the same risk is it. No doubt that Ged has already put money in to keep Peterborough going when he joined late in the season. Together with Swales, he must from his experience since, that he thinks it is worthwhile to stay around and devote himself to help keep the club running, and no doubt would be responsible for any debts that it occurred(not anyone who bought in to the idea). I bet if he walked, given the doubting on here, it would all be his fault Peterborough didn't run in 2015. It wouldn't be him that walked away, in my eyes. Remember Ged is not local, coming from Teesside, and being sponsor and mechanic to Ulrich and Danny Phillips, and sponsor of Carl Wilkinson with his personal MOTIVE organisation. He seems to like what he sees and wants to help, and knows the risk of collecting debt, but he obviously feels confident he and Swales can be successful, if they can get some indication of support. Working capital is needed, and he has asks the fans to contribute and needs £40K. What's wrong with that.
  20. So as long as the girl didn't know she had been raped it was alright according to you. FFS.
  21. Yep, it's a closed shop. But anybody can join them, and vote on things, so what's to stop others doing it. Ah, it would mean using their own money.
  22. So both taking advantage of a girl unable to agree to sex, in the eyes of the law, makes both males guilty of rape. Instead of trying to support Evans with his 'I am innocent mylord', you should be fighting to get his mate convicted of rape as well. Now that would be justice.
