Tsunami replied to ruffdiamond's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
So after all that internal grief you gave yourself, and stating" if you had brains,etc....", you won't even be there. Part timer, and all gob. -

Wouldn't commit to new dates and even a double header two days in a row, to help get the tie done and dusted, but the answer was always no. You have Riggers. Not for the first time, mind. Wonder where you will be on Sunday. 'If you have any brains you will be there', so I expect you to be at the footie. -
Who the hells riggers when he's about. Probably Spanish football on the tele, curtesy of George helping BSPA and both teams get their fixture on. BTW. Been a bit late in coming to the party, change of fixture dragged you out eh. So you will be there now. Thought you said that you preferred to go elsewhere.

Must have slipped your little mind that George's cooperation was required. If it was right in the first case, George would not have needed to cooperate, the fixture would have been announced as standing. DavyH Note my comments. It wasn't Newcastle holding up the tie with Glasgow. -

Would seem like that George has been persuaded to let Edinburgh go to Peterborough, for some reason. He didn't have to, but it seems he was prevailed on to allow it, as as it says it needed George to cooperate when he didn't need to. Seems 'it's in the best interest of PL speedway". Just hope the sacrifice by Newcastle, allows the mighty hoards of Panther fans to attend as they have indicated on here. -
Maybe. If you read an earlier communiqué about this development, you would understand the many hoops that they have had to go through to get to this stage. Damned if they do, damned if they don't, but the critics will always be right. Easiest seat in the house.

So do you think that Newcastle have announced our meeting without agreeing it with Alex Harkess, Edinburgh promoter and chairman of the BSPA. -

I was told yesterday that our tie with Edinburgh was on Sunday. Now confirmed on the Diamonds website, and it would only be on there by request of the promotion and put on by say Graeme. -
Go do it.

Workington V Edinburgh (play-offs) 27/9/14 @ 7.00pm
Tsunami replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
To be fair, the real problem has been the rain causing rainoffs. Some like Worky and Glasgow seem to get more of the stuff than others, so it was bound to cause probs and not just to them. -
Not looking for your sympathy but. So glad your ignore button is not on, just think of the arguments you would miss getting involved in. Someone at our end would, of course, have considered qualifying, but until a team like Peterborough hijacks a fixture date, you wait till you know you have a good chance after the first leg, to let others know of your angst. Probably not in your vision that we could have done this earlier, and then not qualified, which would then let you know-alls have a field day. Anyway, all turned out right, common sense has prevailed, and you don't have a fixture, or your own riders on that day. I say that on what I have been told today, and hope there is no snuggling up to a promotion just to keep them happy. Let's hope not.

The Decline Of British Speedway
Tsunami replied to customhouseregular's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
It was described on the previous GP that they are different compounds, and i think softer, but not so durable. They respond different on different surfaces. Could be very little difference, Greg could be getting paid to use them and of course Greg was always a great gater. -

It is his choice to use them AF, and everyone could use them as well. The riders know they have advantages and disadvantages, but they are all free to use the Golden tyres. -

I am sure it used to be. -
When I was the promoter in charge of the Gems. I used to try and make it 7 and 7 as suggested, especially as I was not trying to win the CL but give youngsters more rides. Nobody wanted to but. A bit different in the PL and EL, as the RR value could be different and could influence the final result.
