  1. Thanks for that. I thought there was still a limit. Point made is still valid in that averaging team points at £30 seems high, and the promoter would have to pay both away and home points for his riders out of one home gate income. IMO that would be over £2000.
  2. Why would he want it. It's not a competition as to who is the best rider.
  3. NO. You also have to pay your riders for the difference between their actual rates, and the standard exchange rate between clubs for the away meetings. Despite that I think the net payment of your riders would be over £2000 for a home and an away meeting.
  4. Kerr Robson Ludde Rosen Wolbert Rose Sargent 42.50
  5. Yes, each club has the right to maintain their own website, in fact it's the opposite of what yahoho has said.
  6. Your original point was doubting that Masters could/would have learnt anything riding at Brough. What I was saying was that greater riders than him did learn, and go on to greater things. Ivan in fact always said if you could ride Brough well, you could ride everywhere, and backed his judgement by recommending many Kiwis to sign for us. I think i'll settle with Ivan's endorsement.
  7. Yes he would. Didn't spoil the careers of Larsen, KB, Bjarne or those World Champs Ivan, Anders, Ole and of course Nicki P.
  8. Great to see such a great portrayal of our sport and performed by a talented top group. Top vid and commentary.
  9. The answer is yes. Jim and partner Ian, of Contraband, were the promoters of Peterborough from about 1997 for several years, During that period Jim had Simon Stead, Dave Howe, Ollie Allan, Darren & Jamie Smith, Paul Clews all as youngsters winning the PL and taking some of them up to the EL when he joined that league.
  10. Apparently someone has donated £10K anonymously.
  11. I understood that Olle was retiring, and that 2014 was his last season. Shoulder popping out too easy was the reason.
  12. NEWCASTLE SPEEDWAY SUPPORTERS CLUB DVD/Post AGM meeting. On Monday 17th November, 2014 at the PTE Club, Byker, the Supporters Club are holding a DVD night, combined with an interview with George English. Bob Tasker of GRT Media, will be showing clips of races from the best 2014 races, and will have available a season long highlights DVD for sale(just in time for Christmas - hint hint). In addition, George, having returned from the AGM the previous night, will be interviewed by Roy, to find out about what happened, and what is in store for us all in 2015. Sounds like a great night, which we have wanted to do for awhile. Starts at 7.30pm, and admission only £2 to cover the room charge, with all under 16's FREE.
  13. There are 2 very good reasons why say GP riders don't ride in the PL. One is financial, but the other is who in their right mind wants to see someone say lap a decent rider. Keep the top riders(9 ad over) in the top league.
  14. Agreed. Plus all riders are on HL rates, and if used as a starter tournament, where do the other 3 riders per team get their real practice.
  15. Yes I quite agree . He should have honoured the booking he accepted, but only by accident told George 11 days later he was off to Torun instead. Is that being professional.
  16. No other offer except go to the GP in Poland, despite the booking, and it's all right saying that now, but you couldn't have said that until Friday night. Better to have been able to give it a go, rather than now just accept defeat.
  17. Nicki would have loved it. He would have been disappointed if they hadn't, given the circumstances.
  18. Hardly 'binning riders at the drop of a hat'. Fans were shouting out for a number 1 and delayed it, hoping the top 5 would crack it and we would get back to winning. We didn't, so the Danny and Robert deal was tried, but failed in Roberts case. General feeling here was the club waited too long.(ask TWK who banged on about every minute).
