Yes, I was there as well. Very smooth natural style based, on superb balance. Like a new Peter Craven.
-
Well said. I like Kus and applaud what he did this last year.
-
Oh no it doesn't. Averages are calculated with every rider having 4 rides, Match scores have 2 extra rides for 2 riders. The fact that Josh is a better rider now seems to have evaded your thinking.
-
Ha ha. Glad you spotted that as HT is a mate. i don't think he has spotted it yet though, probably washing and drying those shorts out still.
-
Aye. Got beat by Newcastle at home, with Newcastle taking the PL title in 2001.
-
Even that's not as stupid as wishing he was dead. Move on and grow up.

....and Danny Phillips.

Don't knock and demonise a rider, and you won't hear the rider condemn you. OK

Did Tungate not do a similar change from road racing, and Stoner had once ridden speedway. Any OZ historians out there.

As was stated earlier by SCB. In 2000 Brent Werner went up to the EL with Eastbourne, and got himself an average about 7 from reserve. A rule was brought out so that riders like him weren't penalised for trying out the EL, and allowed such riders to drop back to the PL on his old PL average. If that rule had not been brought in, Brent would not have got a ride in either the EL or the PL, as he clearly was not a 7 point rider. He was probably a 7 point PL rider, who got lucky with EL with his superb gating. He probably would not have got that EL average if it was Peterborough for example. As it happens MPT is more a 4.92 rider in the PL anyway. Perhaps this is a good example of the rules being changed to more than reflect his true average, rather than ruin his chances of getting a ride over here.

I must admit I was wrong to suggest that you and others like Barney Rabbit were not proper speedway fans, because you had stopped liking or supporting the sport because of rules. What I can't understand is if speedway is 4 riders racing around a track 4 times a race, and that has never changed since it started, how can any rule make people stop going and attending meetings. If you don't agree with rules like GP's, Play Offs, TR's, Guests, tapes, etc, you are entitled to your view on them(never ever denied anyone that), but to bomb on about them time, after time, after time, suggests it's possibly becoming an obsession with you, which can grate on others. Remember things like 'guests' gets some fans going, but there is not an alternative to them. Green helmet colour could have been a fundamental change that would have allowed a very lucrative upturn in speedways fortunes, etc. I could give you a lot more changes, and good reasons for their introduction, but in all walks of life things change, some good some bad, but it's just most of us just get with it. Lighten up, changes in speedway will always be with us, they are not that important. Mind you 4 riders racing around a track 4 times, now that's something special. That's speedway.

Oh I think that is certainly true. Every rider I 'think' has been signed, will all have been delighted to be asked to join us. One almost begged to join us.

Common sense at long last. Now "people just need to get on with it".

But it's true. Everytime Richie goes to STMP he seems to be involved in tussles, when they risk getting hurt. He seems like an easy target to take it out on, as it appeals to certain sections especially the Terrace bar. Remember the same individuals gave Tully the same treatment after completing a thrilling race to get second place, but falling off in front of the the terrace bar. The things that are said and gestured, is way below from acceptable behaviour. I would also remind people of the disgraceful comments that were said, and directed, towards Richie on your own fans website. There should be no place in the sport to read of fans hoping he gets killed, hurt, etc. Each track has it's idiots, but some tracks have more that their quota. I still enjoy my visits to STMP, but I am not impressed with the behaviour of a lot of their fans. Does anybody really think it is really acceptable. On the good side, they do have many other decent fans, and I usually stand with decent people, some of whom once asked if I would stand with them again cos they enjoyed the banter. And that's who I stand with when I go, plus HalifaxTiger.

Looks a good interesting signing. I also saw him on a regular basis when he ride second halves around the country, and he has a wonderful style based on pure balance. If he has put a bit of weight on, and got more upper body strength, he could end being very good. Will watch his progress with interest.

I think he would be on about 7.45, but unlikely I would have thought.

Anybody can have any view on any subject, but to to continually moan about the same old same old, on every thread becomes a bite tiresome to others. Quite agree, as long as you respect ours with your incessant rants about Old World Finals, TR's , Playoffs, the golden days, etc, especially when you are now not an attending speedway fan putting anything into the sport. Note, I am not the only one that comments on these regular rants. Move on.

it was you that attracted the responses with your offhanded quote above.

He does, every time he comes away uninjured from STMP.

Puzzling comment that. Robbo wanted to stay, as did Newcastle, but a deal couldn't be reached, so Robbo went to Redcar where his main sponsor is. Would have liked Robbo to stay, cos he brings a lot to the team as captain, but if a deal couldn't be struck, so be it. Far better that than doing deals that can't fit in the budget, and risk financial stability. Going by some of the recent signings elsewhere, I would suggest that a few clubs are trying to finish their season very early. Glad we are looking after the pennies.

If we were going to get Lambert, I am sure Havvy would have announced it.
-
Edinburgh only managed to win the PL in 2010 with that sort of start. We won the rest from 42.50.

I don't know one person that goes to speedway to watch the rules. It's about 4 riders racing around a track for 4 laps. Nowt complicated about that, couldn't be simpler, and anybody who stops watching speedway because of rules, is not a speedway supporter in the first instance. Think 1500 runners at the Olympic final, 4 runners dicing to try and win the race. Does anybody stop going or watching it because say like Zola Budd was running for GB and not SA.
