  1. Don't think so. Each club has to have a set amount of assets or pay a bond in to make up the difference. There will be a notional figure of each riders value, but it's highly unlikely it to be the transfer fee and especially not £25k for Summers. Christmas drinking started early.
  2. I refer you to HT's post, posted the last time you missed the point.
  3. Of course the punishment is NOT completed, as I believed that only the custodial sentence has been served.
  4. Shawfield has large pylons for the dog track lighting, which are positioned on the extremes of the footie pitch.
  5. Given that from the evidence he appears guilty, the proceedings found him guilty and the appeal judge said the decision should stand, how guilty does he have to be before he really is guilty. Drunken women please do not reply.
  6. It could be of course, be that the others that you mention have either showed remorse or pleaded guilty. As an aside. Hartlepool were once very famous and successful. Under what Manager ?
  7. It was the one who was a bit unfit and heavy. He used o come with a team from Longbenton and play on the top 5 a side pitches at B/Flames. Think he had blond hair.
  8. NO, Arson never worked at the Ministry.
  9. It is correct, if you listened to the dismay of Scunny and Worky promotions, Scunny allegedly dropping interest in an OZ rider when he was assured he would come on a 7 average. Are you saying that they were the only two to know of the change of rule, as that would be incorrect.
  10. Yes, but it would seem not all of them listen what they are told.
  11. In about 2001/2 I was trying to get James Wright for the Gems, and I was told go for Charlie instead, he is a better rider. Took a few years, like 10 years, but they were right eventually. Was that not also true about Peter Beadsley and his brother.(similar to Gazza). Is that 'insignificant' in that the agreed rate for new Aussies was 7, but it was not reviewed for a few years, and then collectively, the BSPA thought, and most people still think they were right, that it was too high and we operated a 4 for new entrants. That operated fairly for a number of years, but unknown to Speedway, the UKBA were collating the situation regarding new riders entering the country and illegally riding second halfs, and we were called to account for the breach of the old agreed rate. The UKBA have insisted on the return of the old rate, despite the BSPA and many learned poster on here, that 4 is more correct average instead of the original 7. The BSPA were trying to reach agreement with UKBA to drop it to the fairer average of 4, but it would look like the BSPA has read the signals and decided it would be in the sports interest to revert back to the 7, hence the return to the 7 for both Jack H and J Allen. As others have said on here, the 7 average is too high and, conditions attached to that decision, mean we could see a great reduction in the number of OZ riders in this country, before the push for new Brits has started to produce the number of quality Brits to make up the numbers we need for the leagues in the future. Since the 4 was introduced , how many OZ riders would not have been risked on a 7 had that ruling been adhered to.
  12. And a great day out as well. In the 60's, we used to go at lunchtime, afternoon in the Waverley park and a bit shopping on Princess Street. Tea in the top floor cafe in Woolworths(all the tartans on display) and then on to Old M, for the usual tonking from the Monarchs, and the rows with that obnoxious Mother and Son in the main stand. Then on to the stop in Musslebrough for the sit in fish and chips shop. After that it was a bit of a drag race to see, what I could do the return journey in (about 2 hours then on the old A1). Happy days, especially if the Monarchs fans didn't put the Supporters Club bus windows in. We used to put theirs in at Brough if they did.
  13. Could it be the timing of the removal. Maybe the Brum meetings weren't removed till after the season finished, when it was theoretically not able to run the meetings.
  14. I used to look out for him during the live Swedish TV on Tuesday evening evenings last season. He was often in the pits helping people. Notice in this weeks SS that he rode last week on the 12th December and scored 6 from 4 rides.
  15. I think it only became apparent much later that he had in fact fractured his skull. You could well be right as i also think i saw some scores and they were poor in Sweden.
  16. Yes, but it was obvious from the few matches he had at the beginning of the year, he had not picked up from where he left off in 2013. He was principley dropped because of that, to accommodate the big hitter number one. Only became obvious later, that his injuries were far more severe that at first thought. Or of course a 'willy warmer'. They are quite nice in the winter months, so I am told.
  17. Get her to make a blue and yellow beard warmer, with a Magpie in the middle of the chin. Ideal Xmas prezzie.
  18. Delighted out Turnip Twins are back with us for 2015. As has been said, Ludde could have a great year, and move his average up quite a bit. Rene is the best overtaker, I think, in modern times at Brough, but Ludde is entitled to that honour especially after last year. Anton unfortunately did not cut it this year, after his promise that he showed in late 2013. He definitely has it, and after he has got over his serious accident at Peterborough, I now expect him to continue to where he left off season before last. Having the Turnip Twins together is a hoot, and I look forward to see them together at events entertaining us all like they did at the 2013 DD. Great fun. Puzzled why they were not announced before this, but heyho, we have got them and look forward to hearing about the rest of the team. It would be interesting if signings are being held back because of the Jack Holder problem. Hmmm.
  19. You'll care, as you will have no leader for your fan club.
  20. Ludde has tried several spanner men, aided by his main sponsor Darren Bond(Warburtons) and his son George. After he returned from Czecho, George Stancl has been his main mechanic, an arrangement I hope is maintained should Ludde get signed.
  21. To those who don't know, Arson and I played in the top 5 a side team in British Gas(Northern) despite an age gap of about 25 years. Canny days them.
  22. As it happens I love doing the gym, and had a regular programme for many years to supplement my squash court time. I had a knee operation on November 3rd, and so far since, been in the gym about 8 times and on court 4 times, including this lunchtime. I was a county player for many years, and runner up in County Champs twice. Now that's shocked you hasn't it.
