  1. In your opinion. Funny she was good enough for SKY for a long period, and had the guts and decency to make a stand at the episode at Sheffield where she was a patron of the club. Perhaps you are in the minority. Cheap shot to mention loins in the reply, very poor.
  2. Not sure if he wants to be a speedway rider.
  3. Think that just over but Richie for Steve would work.
  4. I think it is more a case of things being on hold till clarification is sought, and then announced.
  5. Quite right. We have great problems getting track staff to get speedway on on a Sunday, and to close it down afterwards, and these tasks take all day. It is just not possible to get track staff to do that on a Monday.
  6. Yep. So was a lot of other sports people.
  7. Yes, we have taken over the running of the Xmas Party from Joan, but couldn't get a decent date for this year with such a late calloff.
  8. For exactly that reason, and the cost of it, that is why EL and PL teams don't take Number 8's away. Shouldn't be a problem if a home junior is made available without the excess cost. Also a chance for the junior to show if he is ready for a team spot.
  9. I don't think Lambert was ever on for us this time around. Last time it was to try out the league, but this time it's for a full season. He still has big ties to Germany, and that could have been a problem if he had meetings there on a Sunday. Not long now for some more signings.
  10. There is no Xmas party planned this year, after last years lost some money, DH. The Supporters Club tried to arrange one at short notice, but couldn't get a suitable date at our usual venues. We will run one next year.
  11. Don't think we will have enough points to fit Summers in. Wonder what the chance is of us getting a new assessed 7 pointer.
  12. I know, and I agree it would be a good idea, and get maybe more carpark or a better reception area with a bar, for fans to visit prior to the meetings. Worth a punt.
  13. A blank bit of paper was apparently shown on the centre green, as if Nicki had signed, but the proper forms were never completed. We were stuck for a heat leader in 1998, after not being able to announce at the AGM we were in, as the stadium was in hands of the liquidators. We were tipped off, and we ended up signing him. Sold him to Wolverhampton in the close season.
  14. Hardly when they are spending big money on the pits, bars, and hospitality. You wouldn't do that, it would be a waste of money. Wonder what will happen to the independent pub at the front gates. Possible car showroom ?
  15. 6 weeks for normal humans, about 3 weeks for speedway riders usually.
  16. It's funny though that a number of Berwick fans know of it.
  17. Probably agreed a 2 year deal, paid for the first year, then at the AGM talked about the agreement to confirm the second year deal was still on. Verbally or not, the next step would have been to do the loan deal papers for Havvy to sign, but he changed his mind. It was Havvy that changed his mind, not Berwick.
  18. That was the type of contract clause I was referring to. In speedway, you agree to a period( all season or 28days), and pay for that period. If the rider moves on to another team, the loan team gets the new loan payment as if they owned then. There's no grabbing back a loan rider unless by agreemnent.
  19. That comment coming from you made me laugh. Whether it be speedway or politics, one can always rely on you wading in insulting folks left right and centre. Been commented on by many posters who are not in '"my entourage", as you put it. Do you always go around looking down at your shoes. The world is an exciting place and interesting, not the depressing and grey area you seem to live in.
  20. Thanks for that Chris. To put this to bed. I never said, or implied, that the club did not help Matej through this period. It was some fans that did not support him and as has been said, Havvy thought it better to find another club in order to get things sorted out. He lived with Havvy I believe, and he would have been in a perfect position to know Matej and help him. I was delighted he has, both for him and Berwick, who gave him the chance with excellent returns. Remember also, despite Wilko being a well liked rider at Newport, Worky, Berwick and Newcastle, some Redcar fans still found regular faults with him, so maybe they are the same fans. I wish Matej all the best for his return to Redcar in 2015. He's a nice personable lad who deserves to succeed and be appreciated. I look forward to a good reception to Redcar next time I go. Contractually they can't force the player to return. Newcastle own a goalie and a centre back at Notts Forest, from buying them in September and loaning them back for this season. Despite our recent problems at centre back, we still couldn't force the centreback to join us. Unless it is agree "in the interests of Newcastle and Notts Forest".
  21. It would seem some fans forget the division that Kus's scoring used to cause between Redcar fans. He got a lot of stick from many, despite he was a favourite with others. I was there for his last meeting and after the meeting he kept away from everyone and looked lonely, and quietly gave away his gloves, goggles and his racing bib to youngsters and I said at the time, "he's out of here". I have always liked Kus and defended him, and praised him when he went to Berwick, so I do have a soft spot for him. Incidently , there is nothing low about stating the truth even though some don't want to remember. Fans were frustrated at him and at times wrote about it. It was time for Matej to get away to another track. I wrote on the Berwick thread at the beginning of last season, that he would do well and I was pleased to see his scores so high, and how happy he seemed to be there. Being near him at Redcars training schools, I could see that he could crack riding at STMP, as he was a different rider practicing on a Saturday, just the same as he was at our practice and repeated second half rides, as he was determined to return to his true form. More rubbish about me from you Martin. Redcar is my next local track, so I tend to know more about them than say Plymouth. I also have a lot of friends at Redcar, and usually know what the crack is. Why would I not have an opinion about Redcar and their riders, who Newcastle fans see more than other teams. Incidently, I have never said that his depression at that time was anything to do with Redcar, so don't try to pin that one on me. Most fans know the real reason and you also know that reason.
  22. But it's true what Wendy says. Had Enough is a name that suits him. He is cynical and sarcastic on just about everything that is done in speedway. He's just a troll having a laugh at the sport of speedway. Very sad.
