  1. So why the delay. If it was clear cut, and the test was OK, this could have been over months ago. Any suggestions.
  2. Don't know, but I read it on here. Surely the whole thing has been delayed because of something like that, otherwise it would be completed by now. Hi Jacques.
  3. My mistake I thought i read it was planned for January, when it has always been held. If it wasn't the AGM was there a meeting in January. I understood there was a meeting around about the 13th January.
  4. Could be of course that the NL hold their AGM in January and have done for years. Nowt new there. The fixture lists of the EL and the PL are produced separately by different people, and I gather neither is a matched set yet, so you can expect some changes in the meanwhile. As Jane shows, the NL is always behind the EL/PL in terms of fixtures, so there is no rush till the joint fixtures are settled. What do some want. Rushed out fixtures, which are not worth the paper are written on, and unwanted bookings of accommodation and travel.
  5. At the end of the day, I think Ward will accept his suspension as a ban till March, get something suspended like 1 year probation, and Ward will drop his claim for lost wages and compensation. Decision is a draw.
  6. Tinge of sarcasm there Ray. Whether one oil is better or worse than another oil, a rider knows what he likes and what he is prepared to pay for it, but as it's a technical decision, it is his choice to decide. As it happens the smell that everyone craves about was a much stronger version that the one we have now. The noise is lower as well, and its shale not cinders. Things change for many reasons, but we can't just keep things cos that's how it's always been.
  7. Are either of you TWK and Ray Stadia, really saying that riders should be told by the promotion not to use their and their tuners chosen oil, and use a lesser oil cos the fans like the smell. Blimey, and folks on here think the BSPA are crackers. It's a technical decision, based on what riders think is the superior oil for their engines. I really can't see DEAN using a certain make of oil cos he's got to make a smell for the crowd, and he can't use his own oil.
  8. Sorry, but the decision would be a technical one between rider and tuner with NO input from promoters. Do you honestly think that a rider would use a lesser oil just to make a smell for the fans. It's not even a consideration, nor should it ever be.
  9. Ray. Why would anyone, rider, promoter, tuner, want to think that.
  10. And as usual you totally miss the point, and can't have read other posts on this and the numerous threads on the visa issues. The problem is with the Sponsorships licence, which have been withdrawn even though the visa's had been obtained. The riders have to reapply after the clubs have attended the Sponsorship workshop on Friday to be reissued with Sponsorship licences.
  11. Hmmm. Thought he was supposed to have played in 75% of the games in the last two years to get a work permit. Cough cough. What about your favourite Mr F Smart.
  12. Quite correct. I was at that meeting and rang Tim about 11.30 expecting a calloff. Instead he said there was no chance of that, and should just arrive as usual. And he was good to his word. EDIT Was that not repeated with the PL Pairs meeting about the same time. Seem to remember in that one Stoney ripping off his race bib in the pits, and Frank Ebden was not very happy. But it went ahead, including Stoney.
  13. That sounds good that it is being taken very seriously by both sides. Hope the clubs 'pass' their workshop, and can restart the work permit process for the new season in time.
  14. Yes, because who cares a jot about it really.
  15. Very thorough, I must admit. And neither was I. There had to be some for Dan Chapman to have such a lofted title.
  16. True. EDIT OK, i'll come clean BWitcher. As you will already have found out, it is very difficult to find the circumstances to specifically determine whether a lower league FL player is work permit or not. I had found a piece on visa's, which led me to another interesting one, about a company called Full Contract Law, who are players agents and also specialists in Football Work Permits. (Mel Stein company) Their Senior partner is a guy called Dan Chapman, who handles all work permits in 'lower league football'. Therefore there must be some, otherwise he hasn't got a job. In addition, if you watch Football League matches, there is often a reference as to where a player is from, and, if he is not EU, chances are he must be a work permit player.
  17. It's not exactly a badge of honour though. Longing for the old days.
  18. When I am wrong to you, you will be the first to hear it.
  19. It's not a case of being right or wrong, just the abuse you throw at people who dare to have an alternative point, and the manner of delivery. You can't debate, get over it.
  20. And then BWitcher wonders why others don't join him in his 'debates'. Head in sand.
  21. It's not right, but it's not wrong, it's just the way it is.
  22. I see you are still in denial that promoters actually lose a lot of money to keep the sport going, and like others you think it is still cash rich. Not a good start point for a discussion about the future. Certainly the F1 route is not feasible. Going backwards in sport just pampers to the old school, who you must agree, are not the future. The two 'likes' you received are testament to that. IMO the sport needs to look forward and embrace things which are popular and work in other sports. I know you and others blame the BSPA for everything, especially the losses of 1000's of fans over the last few years. There are lot more factors than that in terms of money in pockets due to cuts, and the fact that other sports are also losing fans because society changes. I feel you would ridicule anything, especially anything Briggo, and do you really think that changing helmet colours was said to be revolutionary. There were great revolutionary reasons in about 2002 to introduce the green helmet colour in the first case, the real reason for which you choose to ignore. The return back to Yellow/Black was never said to be revolutionary , just a tidying up from a few fans caught out by dodgy lighting, etc. These are minor considerations which are/were never attended to induce new fans. Plenty of things have been tried like Play Offs, Tac Sub, Fast track riders, Youth championships and youth training, etc, all modern thoughts to try and progress the sport. For those who think the old bikes, World Finals, black leathers, cinder tracks have a place in the future just shows how out of date people can be when criticising a modern sport. WE need to move on, and looking backwards is hardly going to make progress.
  23. I would have thought he could. As long as his PL average allows him to also be in the NL which i think it does. A bit harsh. Nobody should automatically have a team place, it should always be because he was chosen to ride for the team. Adam is very unlucky not to get a ride in the PL, but I don't think it will be long before a team comes calling. Within the first month if not before.
