  1. No paramedic, but two Doctors who examined Simon DURING a track grade, and taped up his shoulder. I am sure with Cookie in your ranks you would be quite used to restarts by now.
  2. Yes. I think it was originally intended to be introduced, along with the bike only being in the forward direction, but there must have been difficulties in applying it.
  3. Quite correct. Tai letting Grin have the win, with him getting 2 points does everything for Monster, whilst easing Nicki out of second place. It's a plan.
  4. Yes, one trying to be fair and honest, and another apparently having a different agenda. Why.
  5. A typical Monarchs fan's response. And you might wonder why you are called Smugs. You do your club no favours.
  6. Well George did explain what went on, and why he could not get good guests. I was going to say at the time that George usually does explain things, and sure enough he did in his column in the last nights meeting magazine. Of course you would have to attend in the first instance, and then also buy the magazine at the track.
  7. Yes, from our own experience, you get warned for your first offence, but they confiscate your bike for a second offence. If anybody is riding on a beach, don't ride when there are others around, including dogs. They could report you, and it is anti social.
  8. WOW. Unsolicited and massive backing to your 'Supremo'. How times change.
  9. This 8 rides and a tape touch occurred identically in a previous visit by the Monarchs (2014 ?) and we argued that was wrong then, so it was only history repeating itself with the same two sides. We thought that he was excluded on the basis of making no attempt to start the heat, and actually stepped off the bike to foot scrape a groove, which is an offence. Jim got him on exceeding the two minutes, but either way, Cookie can't show his distain to officialdom and expect to get away with it. The fact he was eventually allowed back in was fact to it being a time penalty offence but the delaying the start IMO was the offence. On the meeting in general. It was a cracking meeting with Edinburgh playing a full part in what was a big win, just not a big enough. The meeting started well, but then alternating 4-2's stopped our comeback. Sedgmen continued his good form at Brough, but Grin didn't show full form and neither did Cookie. In Cookies case, even when he was outgated he continued to build up his speed and passed our riders with great ease, almost Tai like. Great to watch. Fabulous performance from our heat leaders, especially Steve who was highly impressive and it was probably the best we have seen him riding both the inside and then the outside. Him and Richie are a must for next year PLEASE. Special mention to the reserves who, as I predicted, would boss their reserves this time. Meeting was full of excitement with some strange results , Riss in heat 14 ?, ending a terrific race and passing in heat 15. Track was brilliant as it has been for the last 5 meetings. Usually because Jonny has saved the track once again, but this time through adding enough water to recreate another wet grippy track. I note the Blob has a dig at riding the track 3 foot from the fence. Obviously he forgets to mention the whitelining earlier on, especially by Ludde challenging Grin in two races, before most riders decided on the easiest but fastest line in the outside dirt. Nice to see another bigger crowd, supplemented by Monarchs fans, who as usual turned up to support their team away. They are always welcome as they make for a great atmosphere. Best of luck to them in the Final. So sad to be ending a season just as we are firing on all cylinders. We started with 3 rainoffs in the first 6 meetings, followed by Baltic conditions through May and June, with the team carrying injuries and under performing. Crowd was going down, and not looking good. Then Lewi's and Christians injuries, and things were looking even bleaker. Knowledgable guest choices, great upping of form by Simon and astute knowledgable signing of Aarnio, has since turned us into a playoff quality outfit, forget Plymouth, but not enough meetings to get back to where we wanted to be. Oh well, at least we have seen some cracking performances, and the crowd has returned in dribs and drabs. Perhaps those who walked were a little bit hasty, and have missed out meetings that they were critically craving to see. The TOON is second bottom of the PL, but still gets 50k+. Support your speedway.
  10. Yes, it is going to be tough to beat the Monarchs on their present form, but we are a much changed septet than our league position suggests. I think we will win, but it will take a 'real' Herculian effort from all the team to get the aggregate in our favour. Not your average Monarch Herculian effort of cyclone and Al Stewart proportions, but a real Diamonds Herculian effort that we have done at least 3 times already at home with Glasgow X2 and Sheffield. Pleased to see Aarnio and Evil twin in our corner for this one, as we will need their quality if they perform to normal. Teo and Simon I would expect to dominate Clegg and Brandford at reserve, whilst Richie along with Ludde and Steve will want to lower both Cookies and Grins colours. Dangerman for me is Sedgman, who once couldn't ride our place, but you can see from his healer leaders average he must have mastered a lot of tracks to show the improvement he has made. Looks like a great contest, regardless of who wins on aggregate. Weather is good for tomorrow, and todays rain will certainly made our track heavy. Bring it on.
  11. They have already had an Amateur meeting last Saturday, a week after the vandals struck. 23 air fence panels that were slashed, have been patched up so meetings are now back on with other matters being attended to soon. The round of the BYC that had to be postponed, has now being rearranged and is due to be held on 26th September. I think they intend to run training days through till November, then pack up and store the air fence for the winter.
  12. That's his enhanced average as Arson has pointed out. Point still valid tho, as Steve is still above Wolbert and got it from being at the front against higher opposition. Good point.
  13. John. How come you rate Wolbert a heat leader on 8.70, but don't rate Steve who is on 8.76. Steve got his average at the front end of the team, unlike Wolbert who is 3 or 4 in the Monarch's team. Nowt like supporting the team ?
  14. Too true. We didn't think we were going to beat Glasgow in the PL at home, and Sheffield having to pull back 25 points. Here's hoping.
  15. Emil and Darcy missing from Gp's, and never being crowned World Champ, is unthinkable. All that talent and never to be WC.
  16. Not much chance of me getting up early. Especially as I rarely go to bed before midnight.
  17. You are only assuming the George knew about him not being available first thing on Thursday morning. I repeat again, despite whatever time he was actually told of Kenneth's non availability, George was in contact with 17 riders in an attempt to get a guest for the Friday night. If you know different, and there was someone available, would you care to spill out the name you knew was available. It is not an equation of time span, it is a search for riders of a certain ability, being in a position to ride that night assuming their promoter would allow the rider to ride, given their upcoming series a meetings.
  18. Edinburgh of course don't eat burgers now apparently, in case they miss a meeting.
