  1. Let's see what they engrave on the trophy then. Agreed. Some folks will will pick on anything, and they only end up looking like losers.
  2. It obviously was, and a reply was not required other than to BV. Move on, nothing to see here. Don't know what Golden heats you go to, but modern Golden heats are two riders for both sides till a heat advantage is made.
  3. Crystal ball to both of you, but not in the way you implied.
  4. Congratulations to the champions POOLE PIRATES. The Aces were a lot closer than I thought they would be, mainly due to their fightback on Monday night. Some cracking hairy riding in both legs, especially tonight when Magic or Cookie were involved, but overall it was a cracking advert for good competitive speedway. i think the crowd levels for both ties showed what the Play Offs mean to most fans.
  5. By carping on and on and on on the same matters you are criticising Newcastle Speedway. All very convenient to keep adding platitudes to the promotion if you then continue to attack the product and show that the same people put on for you and everyone. Whilst you don't like Ludde, plenty others do, and have said so a couple of pages back, but yes he is frustrating. BTW If I am a 'friend' of Ludde as you say, don't try to imply that I might be biased toward him, OK. I have mentioned on here many times about how he helps us track staff in awful winter weather repairing posts, digging holes, etc. without even being asked, and I applaud him for that as folks like you are never going to see that side of him. I do admire him and applaud his attitude most of the time. So, for the sake of the TR, Tac Sub, Old World final, modern GP, second half and 13 heats, no uprights, Play offs, cinders, anything total out of date now, your PRINCIPLES would be contravened by attending a current speedway meeting. Jesus.
  6. The correct procedure is to put an official complaint into the match referee on the night, and with the necessary appeal fee which they could of course possibly lose. By sending in a letter to the SCB, they might just get a private reply to explain the situation. If it is to do nothing, as the meeting has been concluded, it would up to BV if they revealed the reply. As I said, we will see.
  7. So you accept you are unlikely to come back because you would need to see the end of the TR. That is your prerogative, but having left and not coming back, why do you continue to pick over the bones of Newcastle Speedway, and in particular 1 rider. If it is not your sport now, why not get on with the other new things in your life you now enjoy. BTW Speedway has never been a 15 minute sport in any shape or form. It's just a desperate statement to have a go at what you have given up. Cricket is also a long sport you now enjoy, but you wouldn't say a 20/20(usually 2 hours long) was a 20 minute sport, taking out all the time between each ball and changeovers.
  8. Well, I did have a decent conversation with 'Mr Sacker' at the end of the last deal, when i was down with Newcastle. Nice guy and family, and enthusiastic toward the Witches. If you need me to pop down, just give me a call.
  9. As I said, we will see. And I also said they don't need to make a comment, doesn't say they won't.
  10. I think that the 4's is a 'shared' event, meaning the meeting profit is shared out to the other promotions at the end of the season, along with the other profits from the other shared events. Redcar might get the running costs plus possibly programme, and bar and refreshments facilities.
  11. We shall see. It would be the Machine Examiner actuality. Ref never looks at them pre meeting.
  12. SCB don't need to make any comment, as the result was called on the night by the ref, so that's that.
  13. I think it is just as well that SKY do run the meetings for TV live transmission. I really don't have confidence that promoters appreciate, or could, keep things running to a satisfactory timetable that would keep SKY happy. Anything 'live' and the clock is king, and long may it be.
  14. Yes he was in the pits, but the 'spare' refs at televised meetings all have coordinating roles to assist the meeting to go smoothly. Doubt he would have been watching the monitor, and it is obvious Graham wasn't either. Sad that some go here are trying to lynch someone, when it is plain that a genuine mistake has been made.
  15. I think it was for a Cup comp, but the principle was that finals bring out the crowds.
  16. Not sure now, but I only know that Whitley Warriers and possibly Billingham are the only teams still playing. The Durham Wasps were top dogs with the Warriers but they lost their rink probably over 20 years ago. It's part of a big redevelopment i think.
  17. Quite agree it can be all about cash. But not just for those in the PlayOffs, as there is also the previous league meetings which, if won, can get the team into the playoff positions. We were vying with Worky to try and get the 6th position mid season. It is another interest to heighten the pressure to qualify. As you say, most modern sports do some sort of PlayOffs which then brings in extra fans in extra meetings. It is a double whammy for the good. In Ice Hockey when I was involved in that at Newcastle, the teams competed to get into the knockout weekend. This was 8 teams I think, who then took to the ice over a two day weekend, and a champion team was decided. Fans from other ties used to go the other matches, and created a carnival atmosphere all the time. The fans bought everything and spent a fortune, but what great weekend it was when it was played at the Metro Arena Newcastle. Was it about money. too bloody true it was, and everyone donated with a smile on their faces.
  18. Quite right. The only exception is finishing with a defective exhaust or fitting.
  19. BWitcher will probably claim that the Start Marshall supports Poole. Desperate.
  20. Don't need to read it on here at all. Getting out and being busy, is strongly recommended to people who need to take their minds off other things, which might be someones death, injury, depression, anxiety, etc. Of course it if doesn't fit your prior bias you will not accept it. BTW Had any news on getting that evidence to prove that YOU did not LIE when you said "Dak's Dad is fit and well" Thought not LIAR.
  21. Which was why I said you would need a medical note or alternative agreement like permission from the SCB, to justify the absence. In cases of compassionate leave, stress, anxiety, etc, it has to be a fair assessment given the circumstances. Not by majority from some BSF's voting on it.
