It's no good when you are drowning in the garden swimming pool, to look at the grass and think I should cut that next week.

Scunthorpe Speedway - Don't Tell The Bride Tonight!
Tsunami replied to lucifer sam's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Yes, I also would have preferred to see her riding. -
Quite agree. The 3 number 1's team, who did the treble, were a one off. In the early 90's numbers were continuing to fall.
-
That's just rubbish. Crowd numbers have been declining for the last two decades. Part of the reason the fast track system(copying both Poland and Sweden) was to bring youngsters on, as well as cheapen the wage bill.
-
And if they don't change rules they get the same complaint of being complacent, and fans pointing out what upgrades they should have done. Other than the likes of you, most people go to speedway to see 4 blokes racing around a track.
-
Bit like fans on here. Some accept lower points limit as good for the future, and others expect Promotions to blow their brains out trying to afford top riders that those fans demand.

Australian Gp Is Back

Oooops, that sounds like Masters these days. Depends on which coming together you are referring to be, if it's the when Nicki kicks out(Malilla I think) , it was Zagar that came together on third bend with Nicki going for a gap that DID exist. Zagar hooked onto Nicki's bike and got propelled to the fence, and then tried to assault Nicki. Nicki kicked out and went to the pits, and was then accused on here that he had rode his bike into a mechanic, when the rerun shows nothing of the sort. When they return to their pits areas they are big boys to each other, but what do you expect in a high tension situation. But all you remember is Nicki shouting at Zagar. Ha ha -

Yes, it cost us the PL title that year. We won the 42.50 league, but the Monarchs won the 44.00 league. -

And not for the first time in his career. He has incidents at Redcar(Lasse) and twice at Newcastle(Larsen and Ludde), when his whinging indicated that he can't accept reality, and wants to moan and do something he shouldn't do. No doubt the Monarchs Press Officer will be on here shortly to cover the Grinners back for him. Time for the Grinner to grow up. -
Great effort today to finish off all the close down activities for the 2015 season. All 40+ air panels were removed, scrubbed, dried and stored, along with the 40+ skirts. All the kickboards were removed on the last three weeks along with the back straight mesh. Everything tidied up and looking good. A great effort by the usual reliable team, who give up their spare time to help keep Newcastle Speedway running. Many thanks personally from me, and looking forward to putting it all back in February, in readiness for the start of our 2016 season start in late March. Dave R

Sorry to hear this, but had expected it sooner than later from his recent Facebook posts. RIP Bob.

The AGM used to be about the 27th November, but this year they have brought it forward and already have most items discussed at a Pre AGM meeting. The season officially hasn't ended and could overlap the new AGM, and yet you still moan about it, when other countries seasons have actually finished. FFS.

Before becoming a Promoter Ged ran his own team called "Motive" for riders Carl W, Danny Philipps and Oustergaard.

Ironically, I don't know if you noticed, but the three teams that I quoted opposing the qualifiers all have one thing in common. All closed now.... for different reasons.
-
Redcar did go down very well. and was amazingly well attended. The outside road, and the car park to the gokart centre, were full as was all of the mini stands and bar terracing. Redcar fans did turn up against all views that they would boycott it. Craik was quite good with the Redcar fans, due to us being last.

Poole Vs The Aces For The Title

Well it will be well attended, but I don't see a space for you. -
Quite agree and I'm a fan of doing the qualifiers. I regularly raised it at the AGM, but it was voted out by the far Southern teams Exeter, Newport, Reading, etc. They cited that bigger crowds didn't happen, and remember all riders are heat leader status with the appropriate higher points payments. It was proposed that the Northern teams hold the qualifiers, and the Southern teams select there representatives in a different way, but that was not accepted as the selection process for the finals had to be the same for all. Alternative was of course to charge more for these more expensive meetings but that might not have been accepted by a lot of fans.

Some are Chewy, but some are not.

Except of course that the BSPA usually has pre AGM meetings to discuss and have indications as to what would be acceptable at the AGM. So quite sensible, and common sense.

It's actually a big lad in the crowd. He's followed into the toilets by many blokes trying to sneak a quick look. if he has to use the pedestal toilet he complains the water is cold.

Like you don't, when asked for evidence.
