  1. Whilst I support the current registration asset system, it does lead to unfair practices. A rider under contract to a team does not want to ride for his own team. His promoter wants him to stay on his terms, and insists on him staying or a transfer fee. If another team only wants to loan a rider, the affected rider has a choice of signing a low reward deal, or not ride that year. That is unfair, and flies in the face of the usual cooperation between clubs. Even if a rule, whereby a rider not in the new season 1 to 7 automatically is a free agent to go on loan, doesn't solve the problem, as the asset owning club just includes the rider till he either quits or signs for a low deal. There are many advantages to both rider and asset owning promotion with the asset system, but the above case is not fair and compatible to employment laws IMO.
  2. Expect him to have a kilt on, rather than riding a broomstick.
  3. Just thinking this morning, there could be an opportunity to blood a new 7.00 pointer assessed average rider along with Rose. No 'inside' on this, but it would work if we have been tracking someone like Jonas B Andersen at Redcar, and would save the hassle of trying to keep Havvy happy with a large transfer fee for Kus. Just a thought.
  4. Havvy is up to his usual tricks and demanding a transfer fee for Kus, despite it is OK for him to get loan agreements for his team. If he is not using him, he should be forced into a loan agreement. Never though I would be supporting an attempt to get Kus to Newcastle, but his year he has rode well, topscoring at Peterborough and Glasgow, whilst a guest for us. He is a lovely pleasant lad and, given time, he could master our track. Might not be on now of course, but Rose, Simon, Wilco, Kus and Rosen seem to be the best options at the moment. About 10.75 available, plus whatever reduction would be allowed from Lambert's average for NL duties.
  5. Bit to go yet to match your lot and Cookie.
  6. Already rumoured to have already signed for Ipswich, but their team has not been announced yet.
  7. I think that will depend on the status of the meeting. If say an FIM meeting yes, but not the sort of friendlies like Germany, Austria, etc and open meetings.
  8. Well, that's a big signing in anybodies book. The club in their announcement, said the signings were going to be exciting, and of course they have delivered. No doubt the biggest signing in the PL this season. The test is now to see if it reverses the trend, and as well as getting stay away fans, to get new ones to swell the crowd. Not sure about the £110 per point if true. if it achieves what the signing was intended to do, fans will be happy to see such a signing and the chances of seeing new stars develop, whilst winning exciting meetings, should silence any doubters. The challenge is now on to the stay away fans to return and enjoy their speedway. I certainly hope so. 3 more riders to go, and i think the key signing now will be the 3 pointer. Meetings, home and especially away, could be won from the reserve riders. I would go with Liam Carr, but I think Berwick have got him in a stranglehold and not releasing him. Looking forward to more news shortly.
  9. Normally if you want your vote to count in your absence, you give someone that is at the meeting your proxy vote to vote on your behalf. Interesting that it was Edinburgh who came to the tapes last year with two 3 pointers at 6 and 7.
  10. Yes, but the BSPA AGM is split between last years business, followed by next years business. A team in the last season, who is not in next years season, leaves the meeting during the interval. Very sensible really.
  11. Yes, and i am sure he will be back at Ipswich with Lewis Kerr.
  12. You must be joking sidney. Here is a lad who has constantly improved, and this year reached number 1 at Plymouth ahead of Fisher. And you call that stagnating.
  13. i think the early 'AGM' was in order to answer criticism that the BSPA, as a speedway national body, were behind other major leagues with forward planning in relation to fixtures, rules and formats. To facilitate early decisions, the early meeting was used, as opposed to the usual pre AGM meeting, which has always been held to set things up for the proper AGM. Knowing the rules, teams and formats allows the fixtures to proceed earlier, to save fixture changes later. The change in Chairman seems to have got a bit tangle up with it.
  14. As I pointed out at the time, the earlier meeting could not be the AGM, as the seasons finances, relating to the BSPA and the individual teams, could not be agreed as there were meetings still being held. It could only be again a pre AGM meeting, with decisions being provisionally agreed, but needing to be verified, along with the financial statement, at the normal November AGM to wrap business up for 2015 and the prep work for 2016. The Chairman's year would end in November.
  15. Probably 'shut the f**k up robert' cos Tai didn't turn his back on being a Brit, he stayed true to his birthplace.
  16. Ignoring, of course, the part that the Labour government did to provide that situation, when the finances were woefully weak and unable to ride the difficulties. Never a good idea to try and rewrite the history to cover your erse. I dispute your assessment of the current situation, but just think it could have affected everyone and the country, if Labour had bankrupted the nation and we were well on the way to do so.
  17. As opposed to bankruptcy for all with the other lot. Actually your description also goes for them as well, except Captain Catweasal that is, who also happens to be a millionaire, i am led to believe.
  18. There is a standard courtesy between promotions not to piss on each other in public, and that is especially true when signing riders. Unfortunately there is/was a few promoters like Brian, Thomas and Drury who seem to think that to steal others thunder, makes them bigger in the eyes of others. How wrong they are and it is not forgot in future dealings.
  19. So you are saying this, and you still think promoters are making a small profit. Majority are not.
