I also know of this guy who is asking for £2000 guarantee, and it is from a PL team !!!!
-
It's set by the procedure set out in the rules John. If there is stalemate with an agreed price, the Arbitration kicks in and makes a decision binding on both clubs.
-
Are they just doing Berwick's, or are they going to cover say Newcastle and Sheffield.
-
I have an opinion, just as you have. Top rider in the NJL for last two years, moving up to the NL, good equipment and keen as mustard to progress. But Edinburgh would rather 'fiddle' the rules.
-
Who's doing the filming ?
-
Ryan McDonald from Glasgow. Obvious choice but petty in the extreme to not sign him.

Sadly Steve, there has been many marketing consultants employed over the years on behalf of the BSPA, and I don't think they ever answered the questions with anything new like you are suggesting.

Like father like son. Nice.

Newcastle Speedway Supporters ClubPublished by David Rowland · 21 mins · With the new take up of seats on the Belle Vue bus, we only have a few seats left, so if you want to go you need to get in quick. The fuller bus has allowed us to reduce the price by a couple of pounds now the minimum number has been achieved. In view of the need to pay for the bus next week, we are asking those who are going to either pay in full, or leave a decent deposit, prior to or on Monday night at the Race Night at the PTE Club. Malla's number is 079397191183. Many thanks. I always find Matej very quiet and shy. When he used to come up to Brough for second half practice, he was very mannerly and mixed with our supporters very well. I think you will see a new Matej this season when he has fitted in, and our fans forgiven him, for riding for that other team. Will it still be called that this season ?

Average, future potential, age and parity with similar riders valuation. Ludde's price could be used for parity.

NB. Race Night on Mon 1st February at the PTE Club, Byker 7.30 for 8.00pm start. 10 selected races to bet on the first two past the finishing post.

How Do We Attract A New Young Audience?
Tsunami replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Some great thoughts there Hackette, especially the references to looking after the kids. While you have got them you have to make every attempt to keep them for the future, as there is a high rate of natural wastage when they get to that certain age when they go off onto other things that teenagers enjoy. The DVD companies you mention, plus Mike Bennett's company, tried many years to compile their footage on a weekly basis to try and produce a magazine type programme that possible could be broadcast every week. Unfortunately all footage is subject to the control of Go Speed who have the corporate right of all filmings in British Speedway. A workable agreement could not be concluded, so the opportunity was probably lost for ever. Mike Bennet no longer films speedway at Kings Lynn, and unfortunately the proprietor of GRT, Bob Tasker, who produced the best DVD's on behalf of Newcastle, Sheffield and Berwick, died suddenly in late November last year. To date there has been no emergence of anybody who will take up the opportunity to replace Bob. -
Going to start the track work hopefully on Sunday 31st January. Anybody fancy helping out would be most welcome. We need people to paint/roller the kick boards, whilst the rest of us replace fence posts prior to refitting the kick boards, and reassembling the air fence. Warm old clothes needed, and hot drinks and bickies provided all during the day. We start at about 9.00 and stop about 2.00 but just turn up when you can. Many Thanks

Many thanks for that mc7. I remembered the concerns expressed on here about how safe the track/fence was going to be. Quite agree about the loss of the Friday meeting. It was starting to become a regular feature of the weekend, and I seem to remember it used to be Glasgow that was the regular opposition.

A lot of assumptions in there and mostly untrue. Strange that you are a new poster on here. The term 'reasonable' comes to mind, rather than the 'unreasonable' figure asked for.
-
I seem to remember that a fan reported on here, that they had been down to the track and part of the safety fence had been removed, and they questioned how they were going to get away with it with only days to go before the meeting. Perhaps there was a rethink and the fence was re-elected.

Yes. Both me and screm making t!ts of ourselves.
-
Yes, she has her points, both of them. Imagine being breast fed from them, woh. I would be going back for seconds.
-
We did that about 8 years ago. Fans were invited to race around the track with another rider and there finishing time was recorded. At the end of the season, the lad with the best race time got the bike. I believe he was an away fan from Edinburgh.
-
They were on This Morning on ITV. Seem like a natural normal couple from Hawick, somebody get in there and talk them into speedway.

Yes, but the whole thing brings in what are called 'black' tracks. In 'black' events the same standards and provisions are not usually prevalent and in say dog racing, standards and medical provisions are or were not up to scratch and inadequate. These are the problems with black events. Who says what is safe and fair, and the promoters probably just run it for the profits made by not paying for provisions not provided. Where do the competitors come from. If they are motor cyclist trying a form of speedway, Ok, so be it on their heads. If he is a licensed rider to a BSPA run team, he will have signed a contract to ride exclusively for them, hence the reason why guest rides have to be asked for via the promotion. What would you think if you had a rider under contract, and he gets hurt riding in a black meeting, damaged his gear and is unable to ride for you because he is injured. If he is uninsured, or has poor insurance, it is bound to impact on the time he is going to be out or affects the quality of his gear that he can't repair/replace back to the original standard. The only time alternative promoters could be allowed to run meetings, is if they maintain the same standards(including air fence, etc), same medical facilities, and recognised and trained officials who know what they are doing, and have the appropriate insurance for riders, officials and public liability. I seem to remember the worrying comments that Oxford speedway fans made on here when a Dirt Track meeting was held at Oxford, and most of the likes of the fence had been removed after closure of the speedway there.
