  1. It was said that he owed tax. Has he paid it, or was that just rumour. It was put forward as the reason he could return to Coventry at the time.
  2. I am amazed that others on here criticise the BSPA for their stance toward periscope, given your statement highlighted. Why wouldn't any organisation/company not protect it's product against those who are trying it get it for nowt. If it broke a business/sport the same folks would probably say "Typical BSPA, what did they expect if you give the product away free".
  3. Quite agree. Cardiff of course has a permanent concrete base, so it is stable and only needs the shale packed down and watering. Belle Vue is totally different and they seem to have problems with the wet base material that will be their permanent base. This really is the only, and the right time, to get it right and insist on the contractors delivering what they should have in the first case.
  4. We have to reassure them that we can't start them. Just hope they don't realise that my working bikes, and not the show bike with the reaction machine on it, are all filled with combustible engine oil.
  5. Nice idea and thought, but sadly it would never get past most H & S personnel. I take show bikes and do presentations on behalf of Newcastle Speedway at schools, shopping malls and organisations, etc. and I have to only use 'dry' bikes.
  6. What about Master's clouting Nicki's mechanic in the Australian GP. Who did Monster stand up for. Nicki very wisely stayed out of it in case someones brothers had been let in the pits again, and thought they were Security. Monster rules apparently, despite what Monster Joe says in defence.
  7. And when your team loses at home due in part to a low scoring junior, what would your feelings being then. R/R has problems, but other suggestions carry greater probs.
  8. Heard that the Redcar V Newcastle LC meeting at Redcar has been rearranged for Thu 28th April.
  9. I know what camp I am in Alan, and I will be there supporting the kids, and especially my two juniors Jack Wright and Archie Freeman. Weather looking OK now and a class field to watch. If anybody is in the area, get self along and support the future.
  10. Yes, and i have cancelled the Gems NJL meeting which would have followed the main meeting.
  11. Agree, just look at the noise problems that Mildenhall have had despite USA bombers taking off next door.
  12. He rode very well on Sunday riding for Worky at Newcastle. Although a slight build and small, he chucked the bike in well and got around the tight Brough bends safely. He followed up his single ride in the meeting with a solo ride in the second half, and I think was trying a bit too hard. He came into the first bend way too tight and drifted across the track, but was strong enough to straighten it out and come out of the second bend as if nothing had been a problem. Nice style, and not overawed by the experience. Surprised to hear he has only been riding a 500 since September. Looks a good bet for the future.
  13. i agree with you, but i think the nature of the injury is different. Jason could not ride like Tero's first ride last night, after his career ending injury. Fingers crossed tho.
  14. You need to beat Sheffield at Sheffield just to draw level.
  15. I was suggesting the covers on before any heavy rains this last weekend to protect the track, not prior to the failed meeting.
  16. It's cold, and we have had a few light showers, but things look OK. Common over.
  17. Don't know whether the track covers have arrived yet, but if they have, you could possibly have used the covers on the 3rd and 4th bends to protect it, and allow the track to settle.
  18. Totally agree that this weeks edition is superb. with coverage of all leagues not just EL, PL and NL. MDL and NJL and all the major teams abroad, what else would people want. Top notch magazine at a great price. If only Pinegen did tracks.
  19. Getting better. The tractor was going to pull it straight, and I believe Ryan Burton, the other Buxton rider, is delivering the mended electrics in time for our Sunday meeting. All good to go
  20. Yes, I think the circumstances were quite unique to Plymouth and Barker. They had to get a big name that was prepared to go to Plymouth every week. Obviously a lot of riders would not consider it for excess travel reasons, so i think Plymouth were almost forced to pay that to sign a 'local' lad and hope that would encourage a lot more local fans. Similar in some ways to the signing of say Parker and Screen at Glasgow, although not obviously Scots.
  21. Your surprise is correct. Both Lewis Kerr and Richie Worrall rode in the pre meeting and the field was not full of NL riders. Quite a decent standard actually.
