  1. The track surface was defective and known about all during the week before. The cause, the sub base, was identified afterwards, but to say it has no significance shows the ostrich approach that the three of you are displaying on here. There is loyalty and loyalty but to be so dismissive is just crazy. They had information about the concerns and rightly distanced themselves from the decision taken by the promotion. See the rubbishing of any information is still the party line. Two riders rode the track and Max OK'd it, what about the other rider. No comment. But you are doing your best to suggest the opposite. The TWO track curators left the job on Wednesday. Would you confirm that they were happy with the condition the track was in. The SCB inspected and passed the stadium, and issued a licence for the year as per required by the rules. The conditions in the rules do not include the track and it's ability to sustain a full speedway meeting. Anybody who was realistic and listened to others, and did not want to try to bluff it out.
  2. You are way offline, and just trying to discredit a poster that makes comments you can't stomach. I don't share many mutual views with orion, but to say he kisses butt at Swindon shows how far you are offline and saying things to suit your own agenda. I support post #99 from New Science, who I again don't usually support. Your, and the other supporters, have conveniently ignored the events(partly what I put on here as well as things I can't) which happened throughout the week leading upto the GOM. The signs and concerns were known, and shown, that all things were not OK, and a problem was lying ahead of them. The decision to carry on after Wednesday was foolish, and costly for others, and undid all the good work and goodwill that have been seen and applauded by me and others against other posters who knocked it all along throughout the build process. I took stick from many posters who said it would never happen, and I personally knocked their negativity against the project. With that background of support on record, it does not make me feel good to criticise the actions taken, and decry the decision to go ahead with the GOM. The decision to go ahead was flawed, and it should have been cancelled on that Wednesday.
  3. What a sick and sad individual you can be. How can anything get divvied up from a track not being able to run because of construction problems. BTW DOSH is spelt dosh.
  4. Agree about the meeting, super racing and result. Has anybody seen better passing than Ludde blasting around the boards and squeezing through on the straight. The guy is magic. Williamson continues to amaze me as to how he gates well every race, but is at the back after the first lap. Unneedlessly he pushed Danny off in heat 4 and onto the grass before the first bend, which was totally missed by the ref. Robert did a similar move in race 15 when he clamped Wells superbly to go on o the 5-1 with Steve to celebrate a very satisfying meeting. Lets hope there is a new signing next week as if say Rose on injured or not on par we could be vunerable. A bit disappointed with the heckling from the crowd when the PA system was acting up. These things happen from time to time, especially when using the vintage stuff that the stadium has installed. A little bit of sympathy rather than the innate shouting was more appropriate I think. Everything was being done that could be done, and eventually somehow the system was repaired. A new mixing board was purchased last night, so it should be installed ready for next weeks meeting. As Take That would say "have a little Patience".
  5. Not true. The whole of the third and forth bends have been dug up again in an attempt to identify the cause of the water seepage. Story yesterday was that a permeable skin has been omitted from the base, and it's purpose was to allow water down and out, but not to allow water to rise up through it. I think we will be seeing meetings at BV in the very near future if that is the case.
  6. Totally agree with your sentiments JoD. I heard today that following the first operation, Kenni has had another operation to relieve pressure on the brain. The gun was in fact an air pistol. Pray for Kenni.
  7. Morrisey Fan Nobody has been given a Stadium. The promotion has taken on a lease for the facility which amounts to something like I think over £50k a year.
  8. NEWCASTLE SPEEDWAY SUPPORTERS CLUB NEWS Update on the buses. The Redcar bus for Thu 28th Apr is now only £10 return, and the Scunthorpe bus for Mon 2nd May is now only £14 return. These buses are being subsidised by the Supporters Club so why not take advantage of these cracking offers. Remember the more fans that go, the bus gets cheaper.
  9. Yes we are there every year. Supplemented by riders who have ridden for us, and friends of the Club. It's always in the Proggie the next meeting. We also have junior riders who rode for me in the 00's Gems teams to renew friendships and just somewhere to meet up again.
  10. Can't agree that Supporters Clubs have had there day. At Newcastle we restarted the Supporters Club 3 years ago, and I was asked to chair it with willing supporters who wished to help the club in any way. So far we have raised about £8K, with £4k going to help buy the air fence. The standard nights we have are :- Race Nights(using film of actual races by GMT Media) Usually in January/Feb. Meet the Riders(after the Practice Day night) Usually in March. Pub Games night(usually about May) Usually a social night rather than money rising. A big summer event like a Family Night with children's entertainers, followed by a meal and Disco), or a River Tyne Cruise on a Friday night in about Jul/Aug) Both big money raising events. Xmas Party with all kids free, and getting selection box's with varied games played during the night. Every attempt is made to run buses to nearby tracks, and meetings like BV Opening, PLRC and the 4's at Peterborough. Every Newcastle fan is a member, with no subscriptions or entrance money, except the Xmas party which we have just taken over last year. We also run the meeting mascot arrangements, when fans ask for the child/children to be that nights mascot/s and walkout with the team at the start of the meeting. A stall around a picnic table is manned alongside the main stand as you enter the terraces, and is manned all night for enquires, news, bookings. Funds go to whatever is needed with early season shale for the club, and last year we assisted with the purchase of the tractor blade for track preparation. I retired just prior to the start of this season, but a few new members have been co-opted and the Secretary is now the Chairman.
  11. The simple mistake of which week it was was a BSF member, nowt to do with the organisation of Speedway. Don't be so judgemental.
  12. I believe he broke his leg in the final at Glasgow. Unlucky lad in finals is Harry, remember a scary ride last year at Peterbough when he qualified unbeaten and lost it big style in the Final.
  13. And don't, by your own admission, even go to speedway. So it's free packed TV speedway or nothing.
  14. So the ones that complained about the meeting, switched over or left it half way through, whilst others including me saw all the meeting, with the racing picking up till the end, also posted it wasn't a bad meeting. Pity about the likes of you and others is that the others who watched all of it, are equally or more entitled to have a valid opinion of what they saw. Incidently those who stayed away could not have stayed away because it was in your opinion a boring meeting. They might have thought it would be, but they didn't not go because it was a boring meeting(your words and not mine). Pity about some people and some tracks, they come out with all the usual cliche's regardless what they have seen. Well, they wouldn't want to be out of kilter with the others that moan, would they. No passing, no dirt, cold chips, trick track, it rained.
  15. Quite correct. Unlike some dicks, they got Dak's dads serious injuries right.
  16. Yes he did. It was a lot better than normal, and the Robins started to come back at the end. Decent meeting. The track will further improve when they get both ends done, and then recut the banking to the new width.
  17. Got that all wrong didn't you. Decent meeting with improved racing at Leicester.
  18. Dead easy. Just look for direction the camera appears to be and get the in-house DVD man to zoom in and film them. Send for Security.
