  1. Must be close as his combined average from 2012 +2013 was 7.20.
  2. I find it laughable that the 'usual suspect. makes an unqualified statement, but you are asked to do the maths to prove it right of wrong. What a tool he is. It's introduction was during my time as a promoter. The Golden Double was proposed, i think just for EL meetings, and I seem to remember Colin Pratt being it's biggest supporter. After about a year the rules were modified, and the double points ruling was proposed in the PL by Len Silver,(sat next to me), and seconded by Ronnie Russell. On behalf of Newcastle I voted against it in the PL, but was outvoted. The quoted post by RacerX is dated 2004, which was sometime afterwards and TS's were introduced off 15mts.
  3. The technical side of bikes is probably the simplest section.
  4. Newcastle Speedway Supporters ClubPublished by David Rowland · Just now · We are trying to run a bus to Redcar on Thursday 2nd June. Cost is only £9.50 per person but we need 25 people to go. Give Malla a ring or pay in full on Monday night at Brough.
  5. At last we can consider restarting the Sunday afternoon training school. Had a few things to sort out, and now ready to go with a first school on Sunday 19th June. This will gauge the support to keep them running, especially as we will not have the next one for about 5 weeks due to my hols, Cardiff and Gems meetings. After that I intend to run them every Sunday. They will be still be on from 1.00pm till 2.30pm, weather permitting. One change is that due to the lack of the regular dog track sheeters, we, the riders and helpers, all have to put the sheets down starting at about 10.30am. No sheeting, no riding as it has to be fair to everyone. Everything is provided free, bikes, clothing, gloves, goggles, helmets, but I ask for a contribution of £3 for the medical cover. Message me if you intend to come please. Local riders only. DAVE ROWLAND
  6. You wouldn't believe the number of people who have questioned the 7.30 start time, instead of the usual 6.30 with it being a Bank Holiday meeting. Just thought this was another query without checking the teams. Divvi. Mind you, I knew Steve would pick it up tho.
  7. Ooooops. Saw the query about a 7.30 start and didn't read the teams.
  8. It is a 7.30 start, deliberately to allow more time for Steve to get up to Newcastle from Belle Vue, who are riding at 12. In last Mondays programme.
  9. Did we not lose seniority when we changed to Monday for Bjarne, then returned to Sunday after he left. I know we lost it to Newport for that reason, and though it was for Glasgow as well.

  11. And at many tracks a board with the warning on is shown to the rider, in case he doesn't hear a verbal warning. This is in full view of the fans so everyone knows about it. NB Just seen Alan Jones previous post on this. It's a Poole thread and of course Gavan has to be leading the criticism from the front with stupid comments. But you haven't anything personal against Poole have you.
  12. He might get a 6 average Well done to Berwick for trying to bring on new talent. There is always something special about seeing the progress of a new rider, regardless of their nationality. I am sure with Pijper in his corner he will come on tons. Best of luck to the lad.
  13. Sun out this morning and forecast to continue all day. Lots of unforecasted rain yesterday, but the place is drying up nicely. Track will be good with all that watering so we look forward to a good night of racing at PL level and the NJL meeting that follows. See you there.
  14. Better to be prepared for say an injury to one of our top men in their first ride. R/R makes you vulnerable.
  15. Wonder if George is having trouble getting a decent replacement guest as I am sure he would choose to run with 7 riders rather than the backstop R/R.
  16. Just about sums you up though. Know nowt, no answers, criticise others, and tells lies. And now doesn't even go. Stewth.
  17. Does he. Who pays the bills when nobody turns up to watch riders trying to just get round, falling off and times 6 seconds more than normal, and fans moaning about the quality of racing. There should be a sensible middle ground solution, but some would still have their moans.
  18. Hooray. Look forward to the next stupid possibility.
  19. The clever thing to do is to replace him when he's on a 7 and before the 3 ave is applied. Later on you might be able to reintroduce him on the 3, if the MC allow you.
  20. That was one off thought. How often is a speedway meeting in the afternoon, can afford a large delay and have three separate meetings to balance with.
