  1. That is the danger with some guest appearances. It won't happen with Richie, because of his relationship with us and his twin, and Garcia will want to show his previous visit was not a fluke, and also he needs the money. Robbo will ride as a pro, having very strong links with both Redcar and Newcastle.
  2. Yes, and from a guy who totally mastered this track when he first came to the UK to ride in the early 00's. We rode against him in one of his first meetings, and he was brilliant, being so fast and riding many varied and winning racing lines. For him to have his outburst, and still scoring points, suggests to me he had an agenda, obviously not finished. Certainly helped to unsettle his teammates and lost this meeting. Once again Gavan, you can't even talk about a Lakeside V Wolves meeting, without being still obsessed to include a dig at Poole. You really are quite pathetic and childish.
  3. So how did George English get Ronnie Allan to apply the new rule at Berwick. Another team puts a reserve in as a replacement, and Glasgow put another rider in and is allowed to go off the tapes. One decision out of line, with the other two as it has now been applied/rewritten. From what has been read the only real change is the 15 metre rider staying in the original lane.
  4. More like why Glasgow were allowed to put a rider in off the gate after a tape infringement disqualification, when that was not supposed to happen, but the ref allowed it. It has taken this wrongdoing to get the rule amended, and it now reads as it was proposed to happen. Like what happened when George advised the referee about the intention of the rule at Berwick.
  5. Thanks for publishing that Gordon. So on Sunday, Glasgow putting Summers in was wrong, and once again George English was right. At Berwick, George had to 'overrule' Ronnie Allan and the Berwick promotion, saying that was not how the ruling was arrived at, regardless of the rule being poorly written. The heat had been selected for different treatment to other heats, to maintain a higher standard for the premier heat of a meeting. At Glasgow, they should have put Richie off 15 metres or a reserve from the gate. Will we get a rerun then ?.
  6. Agreed. In fact it was reported in court that before meeting her one time, he Goggled what the age of consent was and discussed the subject with fellow players. He knew her age and took the risk.
  7. Yes, common sense isn't it, rather than blame "a badly written rule book". FFS
  8. Usual Bollocks from our regular Monarch trouble making critic. Must admit I was amazed at how much water was on the track when I got there in the morning. We couldn't start on the air fence till the water was pumped off, and then the residue water off the air fence on the track. I didn't think it had rained that much, but i can assure you there was a lots of puddles which softens those areas. Jonny had to work the wet shale into the rest of the track after cutting, and then a lot of grading. Normally that gets the water into the base, and it is consistent across the track, but Sunday seemed to have a lot of loose stuff which caused the problems. Pleased we have Jonny who knows how to sort out these problems.
  9. Aye, yesterday was always better than today in everything. Nonsense.
  10. And I am saying that it is done at many tracks on a weekly basis. You say it can't be done and it is, so you are denigrating or ignoring the efforts of others that do. Stick to GoKarting.
  11. Thanks for the info. Still 'like' what you have posted. Just like to support this post. We at Newcastle are one of the teams that is entertaining Carmarthen Dragons(August 14) in our second half. We also have 6 NJL meetings in progress and/or planned, and I organise a usual 6 secondhalf racecard each week, trying to give all juniors 2 rides each. All very well HA being your usual high and mighty self, but there are many who do what I do, carried out within a reasonable time frame, and making it possible for young riders to get rides. Being in OZ, and not contributing anything, must make it easy to criticise and devalue others contributions. Incidently, I will shortly be starting up my usual weekly FREE training schools in the afternoons on match day, everything provided. What do you do ?
  12. The funeral of long time Diamonds fan Margaret McBean, who sadly died on Friday morning, is going to be held at 12.45pm on Monday 6th June at Whitley Bay Crematorium, and then onto the Forest Hall Legion Club, Forest Hall. RIP Margaret
  13. Great incident packed meeting between two very competitive side. A difficult deep track, which caused both sides some problems, but it still didn't curtail the decent racing. I felt Glasgow threw away points tonight which helped us, just as did when were asleep yesterday and allowed Glasgow riders to miss the gate, but still passed us on the outside of the second bend. Riders should watch all races and learn what is working and what is not working. Over the two days I have watched two great meetings with great tussles, which could well have both been away wins. Settle for 3 points tonight as honours nearly even. Speedway at it's best. Yes I think that is true. George seemed to have more problems than most, due to tying to get the last ounce out of the engine.
  14. Thoughts for Berwick number 8 Kieran Douglas. who had a bad crash in heat 1 at Buxton which got the meeting called off. I believe it was his maiden appearance in an MDL meeting, and he has a broken back along with other related injuries. All the best Kieran on your full recovery.
  15. For those travelling, the missly cold and wet stuff went away at lunchtime, and we have bright warm sunshine now, similar but not so hot as at your place yesterday. Looking forward to this match, but I think your form is better than ours with replacements counting against us.
  16. Our Team manager is still waiting from the SCB, an answer to his query about this rule, following identical circumstances at our away meeting at Berwick recently when Jorgenson was intended to be the replacement. Apparently it was never meant to help a guilty team of an infringement. Richie should have gone off 15 metres, or his replacement replace him with the same penalty. If that is not applied, then the tactics is to put you fastest rider in, and if he breaks the tapes. you put you best gater in to replace him. Absolute stupidity. To those who say it didn't matter anyway, you are wrong. We were 7 points behind going into heat 15, and with Richie or replacement off 15 metres, we might or could have got a 5-1 or a 4-2 to give us a match point. All 4 from the gate stopped that.
  17. Fantastic collection total. Good on you Bandits fans.
  18. Following the main meeting will be a NJL friendly with Glasgow against the Newcastle Gems. GLASGOW Mark McIlkenny Blair Smith Corban Pavitt Kieran Taylor NEWCASTLE GEMS Kevan Whelan Dale Pate Archie Freeman Jack Wright Best of luck to all the riders.
