Gave the impression earlier this year that you would attend if we got a better team. That happened, and you started to support the team but didn't say you hadn't come back. Now with the recent misfortunes, you show your hand again as being just an armchair critic and not worth bothering with. Why should anybody want to keep you happy unless it for for YOU to wind your neck in.

What did you expect with constant rain throughout the day, whilst the meeting had to be run. apparently Glasgow wouldn't come next Sunday due to their DD in the Saturday, so the meeting had to be run. As to the state of the track, it needed constant work throughout the meeting after the track staff of Jonny and his team never left the track since 12 noon in an attempt to get it rideable. There was virally no outside track as it was too dangerous as Kus found out with the slop being pushed out. We were lucky to even get a meeting on but 'worst meeting in 10 years', no way. There was some good passing and very tactical first bends when both Morris and Steve were relegate to the back after being in first place. As difficult the track was. Newcastle were the team forced to try for the wins and take risks, whilst Glasgow correctly took the easy option of making sure we were held in last place to retaining their early fortunate lead with heat 2 and the Kus crash. Ludde riding the inside line early and could only only go his usual outside when the slop had been pushed out to the fence. Expected it to be close, but a win nevertheless, but with the 3 big crashes and injuries, plus a non functioning Palovaara, we got more than we thought we would have throughout the meeting. Think i know now why Glasgow didn't select Victor for their team this year. NO to Victor next year, but Tero YES please.

Very sad to hear this after all the attempts to keep going, with unnecessary interruptions and incidents. Obviously some will be rubbing their hands, but I just hope there is someone trustworthy out there who can stand up to it and make the thing work. It's difficulty is it's remoteness, but if you have a great home following you can make it. Here's hoping.

Quite right. Sheffield played the rules and signed 3 guests that knew our track very well. We all do it, or we are shortchanging the paying public. We obviously were going for RR for Lambert, as that was how it was programmed, but there must have been a change of heart and we signed Robbo, I would imagine as insurance incase one of the our big hitters got injured early in the meeting. As it is Robbo didn't perform that well with only a 5 point return. The track was OK but not the usual amount of grip as it had been dry all week. Our track is so much better when it has rained heavy before raceday but it didn't. The reason IMO that we lost was, not because we were complacent, but our riders did not ride to their usual standard, but Kyle Howarth and their guests did and more. Only two riders who could be completely satisfied would be Ashley and Danny, the rest were below par on a night when they need to be that little bit better. Let's be honest, the likes of Victor has been poor lately, and that's the way he started last night. Matej and Ludde are the engine room and can be expected to get 5-1on a regularly basis but they didn't last night, and lastly Steve had two poor rides when he could have been expected to be better. Like everyone having a pop both from Newcastle and other teams, we should have walked this one, even with their guests, but we didn't and now we need to concentrate on salvaging the situation and win the KOCup. Dissappointed as I am, Newcastle Diamonds have had a cracking year and put us back among the main contenders again, slowly moving up the league with meetings in hand, and getting some great wins and performances both at home and away. The PO's are gone as they are for some other teams, but at least we have had a great season, and still have to KOCup to look forward to. The PO's are Glasgow's to lose now. Bring it on.

Correct. It was announced on the tannoy that there would be "no rider in white". Heavens NO. Riders just making starts and parking up rather than give the ride to someone who wants to ride. -
Remember Jason Lyons was a rider using belt drives, and drove John Perrin wild with the breakdowns.

Michael Breckon the ref, was not best pleased after the meeting, and before the NJL 125cc mini meeting. Apparently Havvy snr was there, although I never saw him. -

Yes. I wouldn't be surprised if the landlords didn't insist on him being employed, or within a future promotion. -
Wonder if Prawn Wilson has wished him a good retirement.

Mike Watkin in the early 60's got the name of "Mudlark" because of his increased ability in riding wet tracks. One of the first to beat Briggo, who had won the World Championship on the Saturday, on a rain affected track at Newcastle, on the following Monday. Watkin was only a second string at that time. Strangely Watkin used to ride a bronzed frame, not chrome like everyone else.
