If they are not now with Poole and included in their asset list, the BSPA will act for them and Rick and Julie will get the loan fees.
-
Did Rick and Julie not transfer their assets to Poole when they first went there ?

At Newcastle we have 4 Doctors, with usually at least 3 in attendance at each meeting. Luckily we have never seen a 4 rider crash, except for the usual all 4 bunching at the 1st conner at the start of the race.

As moxey says above, 20 years ago Bradford closed to speedway after winning the championship, but not getting a viable attendance to continue. Since then more tracks have closed, attendances are generally down, Coventry is in trouble, and the BSPA has it's hand full trying to keep both BV and Leicester. And you and others think the BSPA are equally as stupid and should try to open Odsal just as a speedway venue. Please, never think about going into business.

Yes, I remember seeing footage of it happening and it was not pleasant to watch.

Did Mark Loram not have his big crash at Ipswich that eventually finished his career ?

Money will always be a major factor. Like it or not, if a fence was designed that just about eliminated all major injuries, and it cost £100K a track, they would not be implemented as if they did there would be no speedway tracks open.

The mention of Lindgren, because of his presence, would obviously cloud any fair comment that you would make on the matter. I am also allowed to mention it.

I am aware of the safety of solid foam fences, but they can't really be a realistic mandatory requirement at most tracks. Berwick can leave their fence up, but at Stock Car venues they have to be totally removed from places as Kings Lynn, Lakeside, Ipswich, etc. This involves great teams of volunteers, mostly taking the fence panels down immediately after the speedway meeting. In the case of air fences fitted at Dog Track venues, the air fence is dropped, after being deflated, so saving there after meeting removal. If all these fences had to be physically removed after meetings, you might as well close up shop, as it is already very difficult to get volunteers to drop the fence, as well as removing the large sheets after the speedway meeting. The air fences are not unsafe, and their design is constantly being reviewed with new features being added or amended as time goes on. Our 2 year old fence at Newcastle is an air fence that has to be dropped after each meeting so the dog punters can see the dogs little feet during the dog racing. The panels are 5 metres long and have 4 straps attached to the bottom of the underneath fence which is loosely clipped by a carabino clip to the mesh fence behind the air fence, we still retain a kickboard behind the air fence to give the bottom end some stiffening and support. A rider or bike can edge under the fence, but the gap is covered by a rubber skirt that does offer some resistance to either going into the fence so low down. Two suggestions that fans often come up with are having solid fastenings in the track under the fence(see speedibee's post above), and digging a pit under the whole length of the air fence, and as you can imagine neither is really practical. Another idea is to fill the air fence with water, which just shows what a furtile mind can come up with without thinking of the consequences.

And it will always be so, until the later are given a chance, as they are now.

Water under the bridge now.

Because you don't go, of course you don't know that LL was often actually trying to pass Matej to go for the other teams rider in front of both of them. Bollocks.

The usual negative sh!t from a usual source. I suppose from your comments, you didn't watch Freddie Lingren last year in the GP's. Or did you just ignore that. Then folks complain about Promoters, when they try to put a show on for the likes of you. Freddie's improvement in form was on a test engine for evaluation, and showed most folks how it could improve a rider, and to get data regarding tuning and improvements.

So in other words, it is non-information. Not exactly helpful to the current progress of the deal.

He only put the post on the other thread to balance out his first errors. Why would he want to put the link on this thread anyway. Bloody attention seeker and antagonistic old man.
-
It is still beyond me why a poster like you would want to bring attention to two negative threads, when the thread you are posting on is specifically for posts that are good news. To get attention or a wrecking ball, you decide.

Got to know Bryn very well over the years through him coming up with Waggy for our meetings, or me doing the southern tour with the Diamonds and meeting him at many tracks. I used to hop on the IOW track bus, after the ferry, and have a good catchup with him. He had a beautiful radio mike voice and he was generous with his comments and knowledge of the sport and it's anticipants. He was always supportive of things we were discussing on the BSF, and had many offline PM's to keep up to date. I think the first year he was unable to go to OZ for the winter was a message to him, and he had further trouble with his health due to infections and falls. He was a loyal and dear friend, and I think we will all miss his contribution to our sport. RIP Bryn from your favourite Geordie.

Yes, by introducing your own sport in a debate that you have stated has not been affected by said sport. Other posters would introduce it IF THEY thought it had a bearing, but they haven't but you being you still bring it into the discussion. It's not relevant to the discussion so why drag this sport into it.
-
So why the fukc bring it up.
-
Best wishes Bryn from your favourite Geordie.
-
Seems like you do.

According to an item on Facebook today, I think by his daughter, Bryn is in a bad way and has taken a turn for the worse. Chin up Bryn and keep fighting.

The sites for both Newcastle and Edinburgh are managed by a professional website company. Of course in the lean period off season, nothing much happens except announcing signings for the next season. As the webmaster and the managements have other things or business to deal, with other than speedway, one wonders what and how much fans expect to see on an off season website. As long as main issues such as confirmation they are running, the new team, new sponsors, and fixtures, one wonders what are they expected to contribute which critics would just say was unnecessary padding. During the season, there is always things to put on, interviews, team news, results, etc, and that should be the main contribution of the website.
-
Well it would seem you already think the actual event is just a jolly for one week, why would anybody feel the need to enlighten you.

With that sort of comment, I don't think you deserve a reply.
