Exactly! In any case a clash with the football season can't be good. I hope it won't affect attendance. I know there are people on here that hate football and think speedway is the be all and end all but unfortunately for the sport they're a minority and there are going to be a lot including me with divided loyalties.

I just downloaded this and have been having a play but there's no instructions. I can see how you set the riders etc.and I tried putting in a hypothetical meeting. The program generated okay but I can't see how you put in the results. Does it auto generate from online live data or can you enter scores manually? Thanks -
Exactly, and I find it hard to believe that a rider that has been advised not to race again after suffering his last bad injury would engineer that just to get a re run. Yes, his mistake led to the incident no doubt and he tried to recover from it but even though he has a ruthless will to win I can't believe he would have deliberately put himself in danger of a life changing injury in such a nasty incident just to get another rider excluded.

No doubt he took Janowski's wheel but should the leading rider be responsible for where the chasing riders front wheel is. Didn't look to me like Emil changed his line to deliberately put his opponent in danger so to me it's a racing incident. I have sympathy with Janowski but the rules say a rider has to be excluded as the cause of the stoppage so I think the right call was made.

Polish Speedway compared to British Speedway
AFCB Wildcat replied to mike1944's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Interesting links. So speedway is pretty much the same price in relation to earnings in Poland as UK. Mind you looking at the comparisons, so is pretty much everything else so guess it must be our superior speedway that makes the UK so attractive to the Polish :-) -
Best wishes for a speedy recovery Starman. Hope to see you back on here soon.

2017 Gp Series - What Might Have Been.
AFCB Wildcat replied to RPNY's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I can see that but then why have the semis and finals at all then?Just declare the winner the one with the most points after 5 races each. To me it's either or and this compromise system just devalues the grand final. I think the finals meant much more and were more exciting when it was winner takes all rather then the rider that has the most points over the meeting giving it up and being content to sit in 2nd or 3rd in the final as 1 or 2 points weren't going to make much difference to his overall standing. -

I preferred the old system personally. The winner of a GP should take the most points from the event in my opinion and being an out and out winner in the pressure situations should give more reward than just consistent mediocrity. In theory you could become world champion without even making a final and to me that can't be right. -
Maybe I'm seeing it wrong but should a "lower order kid" have to be sitting on a machine equal to that of a vastly experienced GP rider in order to be competitive?Surely at NL level rider ability should be the limiting factor not the bike. The trouble is these days kids want to be on a bike thats performance vastly exceeds their ability before they have learnt track craft.

Poole V Swindon Semi Final 1st Leg 11/9/17
AFCB Wildcat replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I must admit I've had an issue with Bournemouth players not celebrating goals scored against their former clubs. When you pull on the shirt you play for the badge and that's where your loyalty lies in my opinion. Kyle fist pumped the Swindon fans so nothing wrong with showing you care about the team you are representing and the fans who are supporting you surely? If he had fist pumped Poole fans it would have been disrespectful but that's not the case here so he did nothing wrong. -

AFCB Wildcat replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Exactly, he is making himself sound rather silly.Sorry but I'm really not seeing an issue here. BWD has been carrying this injury a while so of course Rosco had to make a decision a week in advance to make sure he was covered if his rider was unfit. What did people expect him to do? Wait till the morning of the most important meeting of the year so far to see if BWD came through the Peterborough meeting without aggravating his injury (which he likely did) before sourcing an under prepared replacement? It was his duty as a manager to ensure he tracked the best team he could based on the circumstances at the time. Anything less would have been incompetence and Middlo or any other manager worth their salt would have done the same. If Poole didn't want Kyle to be riding against them then maybe they shouldn't have sacked him. -

I'm about 4 miles away and it's been raining heavily on and off between sunny spells with a lot of standing water around. Sun's out now but lots of threatened clouds around. -

Would you really like Kyle to throw races out of some misguided loyalty to Poole?I'm afraid Speedway lost credibility as a team sport at the top level in this country years ago so this is no different from anything we've seen countless times before. He must give 100% Swindon tonight, anything less would be dragging the sport even further through the mud. -
It was Nicklas Porsing but he didn't have a good night.

I think Dolly Parton's was a cover. Tammy Wynette did it first.

Capacity Of Uk Speedway Stadiums
AFCB Wildcat replied to mickthemuppet's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I'm surprised it's as much as that tbh.The capacity was probably close to Starmans figure before the terraced stand along the back straight was demolished to make way for the new one that has no spectator capacity, just a dogs betting area and restaurant with a couple of steps outside. I've only been a couple of times since it's demise as I've no wish to arrive 3 hours before start time in order to find a place between the spread out tartan blankets on a back breaking bench in that old main stand or stand at track level on a bend. -

Might pay to check again. As I said mine was coming out at £376 last week for prepay no amends and now it's showing £264 at a flexible rate for same 3 nights. I've booked mine which I can cancel up till the day of arrival if I find anything better. -
Cardiff 2018 21st July
AFCB Wildcat replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
We have been staying at the same Premier inn for some years now and normally it's been full of Speedway fans with the restaurant full on Friday and Saturday nights. This year was very quiet in comparison. I don't know if it was full but the carpark was half empty and the pub very quiet throughout the weekend so I thought perhaps people had been put off by prices. Obviously Premier inn don't agree as we paid £245 for 3 nights this year but have just checked for 2018 and the same 3 nights are £376 and that's a pay up front no amends or refund. Ouch!
