well said main man and montie thanks for your comments this is the kind of encouragement michael needs not the put downs of other poeple on here
i ask bw double do you have a son doing speedway and trying his best to make something of his life??? i hope you prove me wrong ??????
well bw double lets see what happens michael knows its going to be hard if you read his qoute on the website. he can only improve and get better i know he will cause im his dad and i think he will suprise a few
we dont expect anything from him just to get better thats what it all about
the best thing you could have done is keep your comments to yourself he doesnt need negative comments on here
hes learning so help him not knock him down before hes started
yeah getting onto grass to gain track time totally agree but puttin grassbike onto speedway track is not ideal dont get me wrong it will get round but to learn speedway properly you need a speedway frame but like i did start on grass and get him riding the bike to the best of his abilities then get him a speedway chassis he will then be able to start to slide the bike into the corners at the end of the day it is upto yourself and your lad what u both feel comfortable doing the cheapest grasstrack to get in to is the fga (formula grasstrack association) its really friendly and quite cheap to compete and your bikes dont cost a fortune to run because they only run 125cc engines so you can pick them up fairly cheaply
ok hope this helps cheers stuart
hi mate the issue you have with a grasstrack bike on a speedway track is that the goemetry of the bike is completely different
the thing you want to think about is getting him used to just riding a bike or if he is confident in riding any bike then picking what dicipline you want to do i started my son when he was 8 on grass and then progressed onto a 500 speedway now but we have had a no of different bikes to get there where r u based ?? maybe i could help with some advice in which best way to go or give me a call on 07966037763 stuart anytime were in manchester and go to belle vue every week michael was mascot this year until he passed it on to joe lawler and is competing in the under16 british championship currently in 3rd place so its all acheivable with the right training cheers stuart
just to add to this thread my son started grasstrack when he was 8yrs old he is 14 now and is looking to ride second halves and mascoting the belle vue aces again this year on a 500cc bike we started his grassrack career on a pw 80 then on to a mx65 machine then onto a 125 grasstrack bike then on to a 250cc 4 stroke grasstrack bike
then we went on to speedway we started him on a 160cc speedway bike up at scuthorpe on there mini track when he first started he could even turn the bike now after 3 yrs of my own money and commitment travellling up and down the roads of britain he will be hopefully competing in the under16 this year money permitting but i agree with some on here more needs to be done to help the british kids in this country not just with tracks but with the overall financing of this sport no ones gets any help at all with anything there attitude is if you wanna do it then go on were not bothered so come on people help the kids there your future..
well just had a text today saying that there is a debate as to whether or not the new silencers are to be compulsory for this year what a joke it should be called the scb clowns show coming to town soon
and they will cause you complete havoc in your life
well said billy i agree with you totally on this i was the one to start this thread and am happy that others agree with my sentiments. hopefully more can get involve and maybe they might change their minds on this matter at least for the youth !!!!
i hope you are right its stupid to enforce this rule on the youth of this country who are trying to progress in the sport
not all parents have bottomless pockets to go and buy exhausts this close to the start of the season another £200 just to get to the first meeting the people in charge need to look at helping the youth not exploiting them for more money
why sre the youth forced to use the new silencers another cost for the under 16s parents now what a joke thanks bspa for your support of the youth riders of this country what do other people think???
