  1. Sadly it's disappeared into the ether........
  2. Back in the day, EVERYBODY was interested in norbold's hole. It was the talking point of the Speedway Forum for months, much longer than this piffling Darcy Ward thread.
  3. If anyone would like to send me a few old fivers wrapped up in a plain brown envelope I still have the photos.....
  4. I was going to modestly mention that, but I didn't think anyone would remember. Thank you, Lioness.
  5. Yes, 1988 and Ove was there, as were Jack and Norman Parker.
  6. Peter Morrish's book, British Speedway Leagues 1946 - 1964, has the 45-33 result listed as a Provincial League match. P.S. That's not to say it wasn't counted as an SL match as well. I don't know about that.
  7. KonSTanty PociejkOWicz, Zbigniew MARcinkowsKi, TadEusz Teodorowicz
  8. KonSTanty PociejkOWicz, Zbigniew MARcinkowsKi, TEo Teodorowicz
  9. It's just a shame that Darcy Ward is not likely to record this any time soon.
  10. You're very touchy aren't you? I wasn't criticising you. I've no doubt that's what Tatum said. I was criticising him. One thing I do know is how to spell know.
  11. So Tatum has no idea of FIM rules either then.
  12. It would be ironic if Darcy got let off but Middlo got banned for his comments to the press and on social media.....
  13. John Fred Billy Tom Sid Colin Ted Eric Tony Phil Peter
  14. You can't do this to me, arnie! Where is the recording????
  15. That's a brilliant find, E I. Yes it was in the 60s period as I remember listening to it at the time!
  16. He actually rode in six matches for Edinburgh in the Provincial League in 1960. Sadly he managed a total of just one point. Bert Harkins said that when the tapes went up, Johnson "was out of the gate like lightning; his reactions were still razor sharp but the problem was he could not hold on to the bike for a whole lap" because he wasn't strong enough.
  17. What? You've actually been to Ambridge, chr?
  18. You can just imagine the deliberations at the FIM now. "Well, he's obviously guilty, the question is how long do we ban him for? "I say two years." "Too harsh. How about one year plus one year suspended?" "I don't know. maybe just one year in total." "Hang on a minute, I've just heard that Poole have named him in their team for this year." "Damn! That's it then. We have no option but to let him off. He's a real smart cookie, that Muddlo!"
  19. I have to admit I don't get the Star any more. I gave it up about two years ago after just over 50 years as a devoted reader when I discovered Angus Kix wasn't writing for it any more. Which book? What does it say?
  20. Quote from the above article posted by gustix: "with Pirates team boss Neil Middleditch also none the wiser." No comment
  21. Now you're being disrespectful to clowns, Gavan. Anyway, talking of the "war of words" on social media, poor Darcy is currently taking a real hammering on the latest thread on the subject on Facebook's Speedway Friends page. The poor lad will be pleased when the 45 days are up I should think......
