  1. I think if someone wants to pay you some money, for a meaningless sheet of paper........ then it's nice work if you can get It!!
  2. For those seeking a little more up to date information on "that Dane who rode out in Oz in the winter", Rasmus Jensen rode in a Danish U21 qualifier earlier in the week, scoring a creditable ten points in fairly decent company. 1. Mikkel B. Jensen, 15 2. Mikkel Michelsen, 13 3. Nicklas Porsing, 12 4. Thomas Jørgensen, 11 5. Jonas B. Andersen, 11 6. Rasmus Jensen, 10 He also rode in an individual meeting in Gustrov, Germany earlier in the month, scoring seven points from his five rides. The meeting was won by former Witch, turned banker, Toby Kroner. At 18 years old, he is certainly one for the future, but his signing would certainly be a big gamble. But as they say ....he who dares!!!
  3. Beautifully researched!! I assume you are referring to Rasmus Jensen. But then again judging by some of your rather languid posts in the past, we can but speculate!!!
  4. And there lies the difference between the casual and the REAL fan!!!
  5. It also took 5 to 10 years to become a reality at Ipswich.... so perhaps a little patience is required.
  6. Blimey, what an interesting individual you are. Clearly been bottling that up for a while!! Still now you got that of your chest no doubt you feel a lot better!! Bless...!!!!!!
  7. Since the original posting, I have now established this relates to a "comedy" programme on what my housemaster used to euphemistically refer to as "the other channel". Clearly far too highbrow for the likes of me!! Mind you I would have thought that LewisP instead of vegetating in front of the box, may have organised a trip to his local library......who knows what intellectual treasures he might have unearthed!!!
  8. From a nation that considers the deep fried Mars bar as haute cuisine, correcting a Scotsman on his use of language would appear a tad incongruous!!! My problem now......trying not to appear too smug!!!!!!
  9. Indeed, Norfolk is renown for its gobbledygook!!
  10. Use it all the time old boy, particularly when north of the border!!!
  11. Gave up commenting on spelling and punctuation ages ago, but the mixed metaphor makes it an absolute delight. The sad thing is that whatever point the poster was attempting to make was effectively "lost in translation".
  12. Without doubt the posting of the year!! Under the Forum philosphy that close enough is near enough, the spelling and absence of punctuation rarely earns little more than a wry grin. However when this is combined with a delightful mixed metaphor, it does take on a classic quality. Very well done!!!!
  13. Which must be rather worrying for anybody that has signed him.
  14. But was it a deal that the Newport Promotion could really afford? Any here today, gone tomorrow promoter can sign a rider they can't really afford. Whatever criticisms that people may have of the likes of Uncle Len or JL, and I have had plenty in the past, they are still in business and operate within a sensible financial budgets. We can only speculate, but perhaps the cost of The Cheese may at the end of the day be prohibitive in retaining the services of the likes of Mellgren.
  15. Whilst I enjoy being a lone voice of reason, on this occassion there are appears to be quite a substantial body of opinion that backs that view. I was very pleased that Ipswich didn't sign him, as in my view the risk / reward for someone on his average was a severe risk. I could easily be proved wrong, but I sense that some of the Rockets faithful are also expressing a concern. Still, keep taking the tablets old son, and everything will be fine!!!!
  16. Extremely considerate of you, as nobody wants untreated Norfolk trench foot to be transported across the border!!!!!
  17. Nobody is surprised that a cheese analogy was far too testing for someone from Naaaaaaaaarwich!!! Indeed the only time the word is used in Norfolk - " say hello to Ena...cheese my wife and sister"!!! Anyway a video taken at a service station just outside Kings Lynn:
  18. Signing The Cheese was always a gamble. His average provides little room for improvement, and restricts points availability, if trying to build / rebuild a side. Now if the Rockets have signed Caerphilly, then they are laughing, as they have a hard solid reliable cheese. On the other hand it's Coquetdale, it's exotic texture can be a little flaky and unreliable, and consequently is not to everyone's taste!! Time will no doubt tell.
  19. I'm sure this means something to somebody......however I haven't a clue what your on about. But I'm sure it's very funny!!!!!
  20. Do try and keep up old boy, this was all cleared up yesterday. See messages #1255 and #1256 for details.
  21. Once again Tsunami you appear to be having a little problem with the English language. Sadly, and not for the first time your linguistic skills seem to have deserted you. A standard definition of the word published: "to issue (printed or otherwise reproduced textual or graphic material, computer software, etc.) for sale or distribution to the public." As far as I'm aware (and I feel sure you will correct me if I'm wrong) the 2012 Rules and Regulations have not been made avaialble for public download or for the public to purchase. So yes, obviously, they have been issued to officials, and unsurprisingly into the hands of the odd sycophant. That really doesn't count as being published. Indeed why should the fans who pay the wages of those involved have access to this material? Another shovel of poo for the mushrooms!! We now change our position.....not published but issued!! Thank the Lord, your English may be improving!!
  22. Certainly I'm not going to defend RAs or the BSPA, but all the above mentioned have had their averages amended. As examples - Bowen going from 5.03 to 4.97; Barker 9.87 to 9.94; Howe 8.32 to 8.23; Tulley 7.82 to 7.66; and Summers 7.49 to 7.67. I agree totally with the spreadsheet idea, but as they can't even manage to publish the 2012 Rules & regs.....what are the chances?!!!
  23. Rolling averages certainly can produce some anomolies. I'm sure that most Witches' fans would think that The Skipper has had a fairly decent start to the season. Yet if the rolling averages were released today his average would have fallen from 7.19 to 7.08, despite the fact that after three LC meetings his CMA is 7.76, and with BP it sits at 8.71. It demonstrates that rolling averages are a little like an oil tanker, in that it can take a long time to turn round.
  24. As the 2012 Rules & Regs have yet to be published, it's not easy to provide a definitive statement. However the recent issue of the latest Green Sheets do provide some clues. It appears that PL RAs will continue to be calculated over 38 meetings. League Cup meetings have been included, for meetings up to and including 23rd March 2012. Assuming Rule 17.4.3 hasn't been amended, given that we don’t suffer any rain offs, both Tungate and Heeps will complete their fourth away meeting on the 4th May. However there is a provision, that should this not be achieved in order to be effective from 1st May, then the MC will issue a revised CMA. No. Rule 18.2.2 d) Absent #6 (by CMA): Guest e) Absent #7 (by CMA): NL Guest
  25. Am I missing something here? With the exception of Leszno and Gothenburg, following all the other European GPs, there is a full Ekstraliga round the following day.
