We agree at last!!! Registrations which expire on the 31st October each year. Hence the reason they cannot be extended a value. -

The only business being conducted is between members of the Little Boys Club, no one else. All done so as not to upset the apple cart. I wonder why finance professionals ignore these so-called assets. Possibly because they are not real assets.....who would have thought!!!! -

The Little Boys Club can have all rules they like, but they actually count for very little. Come the 1st November if Rider A wants to join Club B, and Club B wants to sign Rider A, there's nothing anyone can do about it. The example of Swiderski was a perfect case in point. Tsunami may regard this as twaddle, but sadly there will always be the odd dinosaur who refuses to acknowledge that the world has moved on. Indeed, the situation is further reflected by the fact that no one in finance / business will extend a value against these so-called assets, hence they are stripped out of the balance sheet and appear below the line as intangibles. -

Of course promoters continue to perpetuate this myth, it's their own little boys club. The riders will accept it as long, as long as they can continue to do as they like and are not inconvenienced. -

If young Poole chooses to ride for the Witches for the next 10 years (although there must be a big doubt about that), it matters not on whose Retained List he appears on. This whole "asset base" thing is nothing more than smoke and mirrors, and the more perceptive can now see straight through it. -

Young Poole is on the Panther's Retained List, but has made it clear he will ride where HE WANTS TO, irrespective of anything else!!!! I haven't seen enough of the lad Jensen to form a meaningful opinion, although apparently he did well at the UEM U21 meeting in Opole last week. -

True, but consideration would need to be given to 17.6.3: A Rider in a Team's declared 1 - 7 at the end of the previous Season and not included in the new Seasons initial declaration may not be subsequently re-introduced without the express permission of the MC. So not quite so straight forward. -

I can't see the problem. Provided Lanham hasn't haemorrhaged his average to a figure below 6.90, and young Poole has proved his fitness, then it will be a straight swop. After all this was the team that all and sundry (not I, I should hasten to add) predicted to take all before it!!!! -
As opposed to the all British Rebels!!!

For those seeking a little more up to date information on "that Dane who rode out in Oz in the winter", Rasmus Jensen rode in a Danish U21 qualifier earlier in the week, scoring a creditable ten points in fairly decent company. 1. Mikkel B. Jensen, 15 2. Mikkel Michelsen, 13 3. Nicklas Porsing, 12 4. Thomas Jørgensen, 11 5. Jonas B. Andersen, 11 6. Rasmus Jensen, 10 He also rode in an individual meeting in Gustrov, Germany earlier in the month, scoring seven points from his five rides. The meeting was won by former Witch, turned banker, Toby Kroner. At 18 years old, he is certainly one for the future, but his signing would certainly be a big gamble. But as they say ....he who dares!!! -

Beautifully researched!! I assume you are referring to Rasmus Jensen. But then again judging by some of your rather languid posts in the past, we can but speculate!!! -
And there lies the difference between the casual and the REAL fan!!!

It also took 5 to 10 years to become a reality at Ipswich.... so perhaps a little patience is required.

Since the original posting, I have now established this relates to a "comedy" programme on what my housemaster used to euphemistically refer to as "the other channel". Clearly far too highbrow for the likes of me!! Mind you I would have thought that LewisP instead of vegetating in front of the box, may have organised a trip to his local library......who knows what intellectual treasures he might have unearthed!!! -
From a nation that considers the deep fried Mars bar as haute cuisine, correcting a Scotsman on his use of language would appear a tad incongruous!!! My problem now......trying not to appear too smug!!!!!!

Indeed, Norfolk is renown for its gobbledygook!!

Use it all the time old boy, particularly when north of the border!!!

Gave up commenting on spelling and punctuation ages ago, but the mixed metaphor makes it an absolute delight. The sad thing is that whatever point the poster was attempting to make was effectively "lost in translation".
-
Without doubt the posting of the year!! Under the Forum philosphy that close enough is near enough, the spelling and absence of punctuation rarely earns little more than a wry grin. However when this is combined with a delightful mixed metaphor, it does take on a classic quality. Very well done!!!!

Which must be rather worrying for anybody that has signed him.

But was it a deal that the Newport Promotion could really afford? Any here today, gone tomorrow promoter can sign a rider they can't really afford. Whatever criticisms that people may have of the likes of Uncle Len or JL, and I have had plenty in the past, they are still in business and operate within a sensible financial budgets. We can only speculate, but perhaps the cost of The Cheese may at the end of the day be prohibitive in retaining the services of the likes of Mellgren.
