  1. Said this many times, the pre-season prediction threads are utterly pointless. The league winners will be who can be the most crafty and wheel and deal the best moves just before the play offs. They have to stop this sort of stuff from happening it’s a nonsense. If you’ve ballsed up your winter team building TOUGH. You’ve had 6 months to get it right ffs. Only changes that should be permitted during the season is to replace an injured rider.
  2. If they did he’d call that bonkers too and probably did. He doesn’t get blinded by club loyalty or bias.
  3. Come on the majority of us were thinking exactly the same! Just a few were brave enough to say it on here. Easy now to say they were talking guff now Sheffield have won but prior to the meeting I’d guess most were a little suspicious of the outcome and yes, we were wrong. Can hardly blame people for thinking that way when you have a sport here where promotors are telling fibs about broken pit gates to get meetings postponed, Postponing meetings whilst working on a new signing, riders going conveniently missing when they were a match away from attaining a higher average (Jakobson)..(Lynn again who’d have thunk it!!), riders dropping behind team mates to reduce their averages, teams making changes that will be legal but ultimately be over the limit before their next meeting has even taken place, clubs getting their water hoses out to flood the track to get meetings postponed etc etc etc you can go on and on and on. It’s a complete circus ran by con men. You really can’t blame people for being suspicious.
  4. Riss? He’s painfully slow at Speedway at the moment. His reflexes from the tapes are as sharp as ever, but then from the first bend on it’s a desperate battle to hold position.
  5. Wouldn’t fit even if he was available. He’s an assessed 5 and Riss is now sub 5 so wouldn’t fit as a like for like. Swapping them and re-declaring the 1-7 wouldn’t fit under the 39 either. Thought Riss went backwards again on Thursday evening. Was making some electric starts but was then looking tentative and very slow and was swallowed up time and again. Managed to hold on to a paid win in his last, just! He’s been riding better of late and there were positive signs so it was disappointing to see him struggle again Thursday.
  6. I think we both end up on 34 points. We SHOULD beat Lynn away to take us to 34, while Leicester SHOULD beat Lynn at home. Can’t see Leicester winning at any of Belle Vue, Wolves or now Peterborough, but unless things go drastically wrong, they should pick up 2 bonus points from Belle Vue and Peterborough putting them also on 34. Is it the “for and against” column that then decides who finishes above who? Because that’s also incredibly tight as it stands. Ipswich +32 Leicester +30
  7. Leicester have to go to the Showground still, that’s handy. Cheers fellas
  8. Foxhall is one of Richie’s better away tracks.
  9. If anything it’s been the opposite. More than once they’ve had to work on the track this season to try and slicken it off and make it easier to ride. Still say we’ve produced the race of the season this year in the Premiership! That heat 13 against Sheffield literally took my breath away. Looked good on the telly box, but watching it live in the back straight stand was something else.
  10. Abysmal. Him and the season long struggle with the Riss situation are the two reason’s we’re not in the play offs. Nothing to do with King whatsoever.
  11. Would be good to get the win if anything just to keep the interest bubbling along til the last fixtures. Even for the neutrals! Lose Monday and Thursdays home fixture against Leicester becomes a dead rubber. Think we’ll get close actually, Riss can sometimes ride Wolves well and he’s finally riding himself back in to a bit of form. He’s the crucial rider here for me.
  12. https://ipswichwitches.co/kings-lynn-v-ipswich-postponed-3/ Certainly don’t sound happy “no question about that”.
  13. I get the argument for keeping both, even at the expense of building a successful team because they are THAT good to watch.

  15. I’d say it’s almost impossible to keep both of them. They started this year on a combined average of 18.32 due to Emil’s assessed 8.00. And to fit both in this year we had to use Hume at 6 on an average that was reduced by 25% because of the first year as a non rising star rule which we won’t benefit from next year. Doyle and Emil are currently on a combined GSA of 19.28, practically a point more than they started this year. If the same team building rules apply next year as this and it’s clearly all up in the air at the minute, then I’d say it’s pretty much impossible to build a title winning team unless you can get really really lucky with a couple of low averaged ringers. If Emil decides to come back next year, then it looks like a tough decision will have to be made by Louis (and Nicholls ).

  17. Only thing you can do as far as this evening is concerned, is forget about the result and just hope for some good racing if Laguta is there. Laguta vs Emil and Doyle is something we haven’t seen much of calibre wise in recent years. We SHOULD know by time anyone has to set off from Norfolk if Artem isn’t going to be there or not. I did say when I started this thread I’ll be giving this one a miss, but if Laguta is riding then I’ll change my mind! Weather helps, cracking day today.
  18. I’d fancy us to be honest if we snuck in, all depends on Riss. We lost the aggregate in the latest round of fixtures with Belle Vue by 10 with Riss scoring a single point in each fixture. A modest 6 point return in both fixtures would have squared it up on aggregate, very tight. We’ve carried him all year due to his health problems and only Louis knows why he hasn’t done anything about it but it certainly looks like it’s cost us. Last couple of meetings he’s looked better (although not that great for Redcar last night) and he has an opportunity to gain more confidence against a weakened Kings Lynn this evening.
  19. Louis will have them fired up for that Wolves meeting and in the words of Kelv, there’s no doubt about that. Would be nice to go in to the final fixture at home to Leicester with a possibility of still squeezing in.

  21. Still very long odds. To win all the remaining fixtures is not likely. We’d already be safely in them without the Riss issue as we’ve lost a lot of tight meeting when he hasn’t contributed anything but that’s done and dusted now so no point going over it. He’s showing signs lately that he’s getting a bit of his old form back so if that continues, we’ll win the majority (not all) of our remaining meetings. Gonna be a case of “what if” this year unfortunately. A season having the best two riders in the league (one on a clearly bargain average) wasted.
  22. Emil never rode enough meetings for Coventry to gain a proper average.
  23. R/R for Rew, as for Lynn, R/R for Jorgensen, while Basso, Mountain and Hagon all guest for various absentees. Think I’ll give this one a miss https://ipswichwitches.co/raceday-preview-kings-lynn-sports-insure-premiership-r2-h/
